Product Design Trends in 2024 | Teenage EngineeringsPixeldarts
The realm of product design is a constantly changing environment where technology and style intersect. Every year introduces fresh challenges and exciting trends that mold the future of this captivating art form. In this piece, we delve into the significant trends set to influence the look and functionality of product design in the year 2024.
How Race, Age and Gender Shape Attitudes Towards Mental HealthThinkNow
Mental health has been in the news quite a bit lately. Dozens of U.S. states are currently suing Meta for contributing to the youth mental health crisis by inserting addictive features into their products, while the U.S. Surgeon General is touring the nation to bring awareness to the growing epidemic of loneliness and isolation. The country has endured periods of low national morale, such as in the 1970s when high inflation and the energy crisis worsened public sentiment following the Vietnam War. The current mood, however, feels different. Gallup recently reported that national mental health is at an all-time low, with few bright spots to lift spirits.
To better understand how Americans are feeling and their attitudes towards mental health in general, ThinkNow conducted a nationally representative quantitative survey of 1,500 respondents and found some interesting differences among ethnic, age and gender groups.
Technology
For example, 52% agree that technology and social media have a negative impact on mental health, but when broken out by race, 61% of Whites felt technology had a negative effect, and only 48% of Hispanics thought it did.
While technology has helped us keep in touch with friends and family in faraway places, it appears to have degraded our ability to connect in person. Staying connected online is a double-edged sword since the same news feed that brings us pictures of the grandkids and fluffy kittens also feeds us news about the wars in Israel and Ukraine, the dysfunction in Washington, the latest mass shooting and the climate crisis.
Hispanics may have a built-in defense against the isolation technology breeds, owing to their large, multigenerational households, strong social support systems, and tendency to use social media to stay connected with relatives abroad.
Age and Gender
When asked how individuals rate their mental health, men rate it higher than women by 11 percentage points, and Baby Boomers rank it highest at 83%, saying it’s good or excellent vs. 57% of Gen Z saying the same.
Gen Z spends the most amount of time on social media, so the notion that social media negatively affects mental health appears to be correlated. Unfortunately, Gen Z is also the generation that’s least comfortable discussing mental health concerns with healthcare professionals. Only 40% of them state they’re comfortable discussing their issues with a professional compared to 60% of Millennials and 65% of Boomers.
Race Affects Attitudes
As seen in previous research conducted by ThinkNow, Asian Americans lag other groups when it comes to awareness of mental health issues. Twenty-four percent of Asian Americans believe that having a mental health issue is a sign of weakness compared to the 16% average for all groups. Asians are also considerably less likely to be aware of mental health services in their communities (42% vs. 55%) and most likely to seek out information on social media (51% vs. 35%).

✅What is C++ Programming?
C++ is an enhanced and extended version of C programming language, developed by Bjarne Stroustrup in 1979 as part of his Ph.D. project. Bjarne developed what he called ‘C with Classes’ (later renamed C++) because he felt limited by the existing programming languages that were not ideal for large scale projects. He used C to build what he wanted because C was already a general-purpose language that was efficient and fast in its operations.

Dennis Ritchie, a computer scientist, was able to identify the gaps and tap out the best features from both B and BCPL languages to invent a new hybrid.
Hence, C was born in 1972 at Bell Laboratories. A remarkably simple and highly readable programming language resulted in groundbreaking advancements in the IT industry.
✅What is C++ Programming?
✅C++ Career Prospects:
With just C++ programming expertise, you will have excellent job opportunities, salaries, and career prospects. However, for a career based on programming languages such as Java and Python (which are in more demand than C++) or for careers based on front-end, back-end, and full-stack

Well-designed comfort
Atmo consists of two six-floor buildings. There will be 113 apartments of various
sizes – from ergonomic studios to spacious five-room apartments. The well-designed
apartment layouts offer a range of possibilities, irrespective of their size. Some
windows will overlook a nearby park. Most of the apartments have at least one
balcony or loggia, and future ground-floor residents will enjoy a piece of greenery
in their private gardens plus the joy of having a view of the park.
There will be 136 parking spaces in a convenient underground garage. Cyclists will
find dedicated bicycle racks. There will also be open bicycle parks by the buildings.
Round-the-clock monitoring will ensure security for residents. External roller blinds
will be installed on the windows of ground-floor apartments.
Atmo makes the most of its metropolitan location but is sensitive to its inhabitants'
needs.
Komfort dobrze
zaprojektowany
Do dyspozycji będą też otwarte parkingi rowerowe
przy budynkach. Bezpieczeństwo mieszkańcom zapewni całodobowy
monitoring. Dodatkowo w oknach apartamentów na parterze
zainstalowane zostaną zewnętrzne rolety.
Atmo wyciąga to, co najlepsze, z wielkomiejskiej lokalizacji, dbając
o potrzeby mieszkańców.

Po prostu razem
Dobrze zaprojektowana przestrzeń pomaga budować relacje.
To dlatego twórcy Atmo tak dużo uwagi poświęcili częściom
wspólnym. W odrestaurowanej części budynku powstanie przestrzeń
do dyspozycji mieszkańców, doskonała do wykorzystania jako strefa
co-workingowa.
i szlafroku.
patio z ławkami i klimatycznym oświetleniem. Także elewacja
zostanie podświetlona, by podkreślić otwartą i przyjazną atmosferę
inwestycji.
Simply together
Well-designed spaces help develop relationships. This is why the
creators of Atmo have devoted so much attention to common
spaces. In the restored part of the building space, will be available
for inhabitants that can be used as a co-working zone. You may take
your laptop and come down to work in comfort. No one should feel
offended if you turn up in your slippers and bathrobe. This is the
place where you can meet your neighbours, chat over a coffee,
or play a board game.
The development of a local community will also be supported
by a green patio with benches and atmospheric lighting. Also, the
facade will be lit to expose the investment's open and friendly
atmosphere.

Słowo od architekta
A word from the architect
Projektowany obiekt łączy w sobie atuty wielkomiejskiej lokalizacji z funkcjami, które
zaspokoją ważne dziś potrzeby prywatności i relaksu.
Cały teren otaczają wartko płynąca Odra i unikalna sceneria XIX-wiecznej zabudowy
Nadodrza – dzielnicy artystycznej bohemy z resztkami postindustrialnego dziedzictwa.
Część dawnego Wrocławia znajduje tu szansę na drugie życie, będąc wkomponowaną
w nowoczesny obiekt. Budynek podzielony na trzy nawy, przykryty sklepieniami
w układzie krzyżowym i ceglaną elewacją ma niepowtarzalny, wyróżniający charakter.
Rewitalizacja architektury industrialnej, w tym stworzenie wielu przeszkleń, daje
niespotykany potencjał do wykreowania klimatycznych wnętrz i świadczenia w nich
usług. Bliskość innych wspaniałych obszarów Wrocławia na pewno będzie silną
pokusą do odkrywania uroków miasta.
Zbigniew Maćków
The facility combines the advantages of a large-city location with functions that will
provide for the needs of privacy and relaxation that are so important today. Atmo
is located in the very heart of a dynamically developing part of Wrocław which
is being created anew. On one side it stands at the edge of a large open space,
while on the other the thriving Market Square is within a short walking distance.
The entire site is surrounded by the free-flowing River Oder and the unique scenery
of 19th-century riverside properties – an artistic Bohemian district with remnants
of post-industrial heritage. This part of old Wrocław has been given an opportunity
for a second life due to its integration with a modern building. The building is split
into three naves with cross vaults and a unique brick facade. Revitalization of industrial
architecture, including the use of numerous glazed but intimate spaces, provides
interiors that suit the needs of a wide range of retail services. The closeness to other
great sites in Wrocław will no doubt tempt one to discover the attractions
of the city.

Secrets of a city island
Kępa Mieszczańska holds many secrets. For years it was a major
economic base for Wrocław. In the 16th century it was inhabitated
mainly by fishermen and raftsmen. The island was a city port and
shooting range, and in the 17th century valuable cargoes of salt
and iron were stored there. Over 250 years ago, a sugar refinery
was built there. The last major project in the area was a barracks
for 3000 soldiers that was built in the 18th century.
Now the history of the island is being re-written. Prestigious
residential facilities are being developed as well as attractive green
areas. Riverside boulevards are being revitalised and local squares
invite one to take a break. With new investments, a new mini district
is being developed on the island – one of the most attractive places
to live in Wrocław.
Tajemnice
miejskiej wyspy
Kępa Mieszczańska to miejsce skrywające wiele sekretów. Przez wieki
było ważnym dla Wrocławia zapleczem ekonomicznym. W XVI wieku
zamieszkiwali ją głównie rybacy i flisacy. Wyspa była też portem
miejskim, polem strzeleckim, a w XVII wieku miejscem składowania
cennych ładunków soli i żelaza. Ponad 250 lat temu powstała
tu rafineria cukru. Ostatnim dużym przedsięwzięciem na tym terenie
były XVIII-wieczne koszary dla 3000 żołnierzy.
Obecnie historia wyspy pisana jest na nowo. Powstają tu prestiżowe
obiekty mieszkaniowe i atrakcyjne tereny zielone. Nadrzeczne bulwary
nowa minidzielnica i jedno z najbardziej atrakcyjnych miejsc do życia
we Wrocławiu.

Na fundamentach
przeszłości
W tak niezwykłej lokalizacji poszanowanie dziedzictwa kulturowego
ma szczególne znaczenie. Twórcy Atmo doskonale to rozumieją.
Inwestycja wykorzystuje materialne ślady przeszłości, nadając
im nowe życie. Budynek dawnej wojskowej stajni zostanie
On the foundations of the past
In such an extraordinary location, respect for cultural heritage
is of special importance. The creators of Atmo understand this very
well. The investment makes use of materials from the past and gives
them new life. The former military stable building is incorporated
into the residential building. In this way the new will be in harmony
with the old, and history will remain for new generations.

inne lokalizacje. Odległości są krótsze, a doskonałe połączenia
pozwalają łatwo przemieszczać się w dowolnych kierunkach.
W sąsiedztwie Kępy Mieszczańskiej znajdują się główne węzły
komunikacyjne Wrocławia. Trudno zliczyć wszystkie dostępne
połączenia tramwajowe i autobusowe, a miłośnicy ruchu na świeżym
powietrzu mogą skorzystać z gęstej sieci ścieżek rowerowych.
W wielu wypadkach żaden środek transportu nie będzie jednak
potrzebny. Mieszkańcom Atmo wystarczy kilkuminutowy spacer,
aby załatwić większość codziennych spraw.
In the centre of events
Its location in the heart of the city has advantages that other
locations can’t offer. Distances are shorter and excellent transport
connections make it possible to travel easily in any direction. Kępa
Mieszczańska is close to Wrocław’s major transport junctions. There
are numerous tram and bus routes, while lovers of the open air can
move along a dense network of bicycle paths. However, on many
occasions no means of transportation will be required: Atmo
inhabitants will need only a few minutes’ walk to take care of most
of their daily business.

A green enclave
The Atmo buildings will be developed on Kępa Mieszczańska – an island connected
to other parts of Wrocław with five bridge systems. Atmo is located in the central
part of the city at a safe distance from city traffic and curious looks, and with a view
of a green park.
When leaving home, Atmo residents will step right into the city park, which
is expected to be a very interesting green area. Commonly known as the Central
Park of Wrocław, the area is now being designed and in the near future it will
to serve people of various ages and interests. Over an area of 4 hectares, there will
be paths to walk, a marina with a pier, but primarily several tracts of landscaped
greenery with abundant recreational, sports, and educational infrastructure.
Part of the park will be used as a local meeting point. The open green space will
be inviting for family picnics and meetings with friends. There will also be a space
for theatre performances and chamber concerts.
Budynki Atmo powstaną na Kępie Mieszczańskiej – wyspie połączonej
z resztą Wrocławia pięcioma zespołami mostów. Atmo położone jest
w jej centralnej części, w bezpiecznej odległości od miejskiego ruchu
i ciekawskich spojrzeń.
Potocznie
zwany wrocławskim Central Parkiem obszar jest obecnie w fazie
projektu i w przyszłości ma służyć osobom w różnym wieku i o różnych
zainteresowaniach. Na powierzchni czterech hektarów znajdą się
spacerowe aleje, marina z pomostem dla łodzi, a przede wszystkim
kilka stref uporządkowanej zieleni z bogatą infrastrukturą rekreacyjną,
sportową i edukacyjną.
Część parku stanowić będzie lokalne miejsce spotkań. Otwarta
zielona przestrzeń zapraszać będzie do rodzinnych pikników
i spotkań z przyjaciółmi. Nie zabraknie też miejsca na organizowanie
przedstawień czy kameralnych koncertów.

Sfera kultury
Stolica Dolnego Śląska to prawdziwy gejzer działań twórczych.
Muzea, teatry, kina, biblioteki, lokalne ośrodki czy galerie czekają
na gości i proponują im coraz to nowe atrakcje. Miłośnicy filmu
w kilkanaście minut spacerem dojdą z Atmo do kina Nowe Horyzonty.
Amatorów teatru z pewnością zainteresuje repertuar pobliskiego
Teatru Współczesnego. Za to północna strona rzeki to zupełnie
inny świat. W cieniu monumentalnych kominów elektrociepłowni
rozpościera się mozaika przedwojennych kamienic, brukowanych
ulic i ukrytych podwórek Nadodrza. Dawniej osiedle o szemranej
reputacji, dziś modne miejsce porównywane do warszawskiej Pragi.
To tu powstają pracownie młodych artystów i działają warsztaty
tradycyjnego rzemiosła. Na każdym kroku można natknąć się
na małe galerie sztuki i liczne murale.
A cultural sphere
The capital of Lower Silesia is a true fount of artistic activities.
Museums, theatres, cinemas, libraries, local centres or galleries are
open for guests and continue to offer new attractions. Film lovers
will need little more than a 10-minute walk to get from Atmo to the
Nowe Horyzonty Cinema. Theatre lovers will be interested in the
repertoire of the nearby Teatr Współczesny. On the other hand,
the northern bank of the river is a completely different world. In the
shadows of the monumental chimneys of a local power plant there
is a mosaic of pre-war tenement houses, paved streets and the hidden
yards of Nadodrze. Today it is a fashionable place – it is here that
young artists open their galleries and traditional handicraft shops.
At every step, you can find small art galleries and murals.

Pasją Eiffage jest
tworzenie piękna Eiffage’s passion is to create beauty
Synergia branż Synergy of sectors
prawie 700 inwestycji.
Characteristic features of projects carried out by Eiffage include innovative technology,
large-scale investments, and precise details. Examples include the glass pyramid at the Louvre,
the Grande Arche de la Défense, the Sydney Opera House, the futuristic Louis Vuitton
building and the world’s highest viaduct in Millau. In over 30 years of operations in Poland,
Eiffage has completed almost 700 investments. In Wrocław the company is known for being
the general contractor of such properties as the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in OVO and the
Thespian and Angel Care (now known as the Dyrekcyjna Residence) apartment buildings.
As a developer, Eiffage Immobilier may boast about the Villa Sadyba apartments in Warsaw,
the Dom przy Źródle investment in Stare Podgórze in Kraków, and Stalowa 27 – a modern
tenement house in the heart of Nowa Praga in Warsaw.
generalny wykonawca.
generalny wykonawca usług budowlanych, wyspecjalizowany w kompleksowym budownictwie
obiektów kubaturowych: biurowych, handlowych, hotelowych, mieszkaniowych, przemysłowych
i sportowych.
In Poland, the operating model of Eiffage relies on close cooperation between the Developer
and the General Contractor. Residential investments, investments for rent or commercial
properties are areas in which Eiffage Immobilier Polska – relying on its know-how and
experience – carries out projects from conception to completion. All the investments are
contracted to Eiffage Polska Budownictwo, a general building contractor specialised in the
comprehensive construction of office, commercial, hotel, residential, industrial and sports
facilities.
