Colorado Mountain College, Edwin Hammond Meredith enjoys listening to the music of the band
Public Enemy and its lead rapper Chuck D.

One of the most successful hip-hop groups of all time, Public Enemy was inducted into the Rock
and Roll Hall of Fame in 2013. In the group’s bio on the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame website, lead
rapper Chuck D was named as one of the most prominent figures in the history of hip-hop because
he pioneered a new art form by infusing hip-hop culture with ideas drawn from Black Nationalism
and Malcolm X.
