Prior to residing in Florida, Edwin Hammond Meredith attended Colorado Mountain College in Steamboat Springs. When he is not participating in outdoor adventure sports, Edwin Hammond Meredith supports several charitable organizations. He is affiliated with the Boys and Girls Club and 4H. Operating in some form since the late 1800s, 4H's education, health, and nutrition programs reach more than six million youths nationwide. In November 2020, the organization received a multi-year grant award from the Walmart Foundation. The $3-million grant will fund the 4H Healthy Habits program, which trains adolescents to serve as healthy food ambassadors. In this role, participants share nutrition guidelines and cooking tips, as well as healthy lifestyle activities. Through its youth ambassadors, Healthy Habits aims to improve community health, especially in underserved populations. The program operates in 28 states and has impacted nearly 2 million youth and their families. The Walmart Foundation began financing the program in 2012. Since then, 4H has received more than $20 million from the foundation.
