2. What is the Keys AcademyTrust?
• The Keys AcademyTrust is proposed to be established in partnership with the Diocese of
Oxford as a company to be responsible for a number of academies. TheTrustees of the
company will have an agreement with the Secretary of State for Education to support and
manage a number of individual academies.
• WithinThe Keys AcademyTrust responsibility for leadership and management of each
Academy will remain with its governing body and head teacher. The Keys AcademyTrust
will appoint the majority of the governing body in consultation with the Diocese and the
PCC of each school and there will continue to be elected parent and staff governors.
3. What is a Multi AcademyTrust
• A Multi AcademyTrust is a company established to be responsible for a
number of Academies. Each Academy remains a separate school, but the
governors are responsible to a board ofTrustees established for theTrust as
a whole. This model is becoming increasingly established, particularly as
more primary schools seek academy status and the Government has
encouraged primary schools to choose this route.
4. Vision
• Our vision is to create a community of Church schools which aims to provide
an excellent education, distinctive Christian ethos and inclusive approach to
those of the Christian faith, other faiths and no faith.
• We aim for all academies to be highly successful, meeting the needs of their
communities, retaining their unique and distinctive ethos and respecting the
legacy of over 200 years of Church of England leadership in education.
5. Vision
• We believe we are called to serve our pupils, staff, parents and their local
community by providing academies with the highest levels of academic
excellence and pastoral care.
• We recognise that each academy within the MAT is unique and distinctive
and we are committed to celebrating the local context and purpose of each
school. Our vision is for all of our academies to become centres of excellence
and meet the needs of the community in which they serve.
6. Vision
• Within the MAT, academies will teach a broad, balanced and rich curriculum
within national guidelines designed to inspire pupils to learn. We aim to
enable all children to take part in exciting learning, inside and outside the
classroom, so that they can make rapid and sustained progress. There will
be high expectations and in our academies we seek to develop a love of
learning so that our pupils will thrive intellectually, socially, culturally and
spiritually and aspire to be the best they can be.
7. In Partnership with Oxford Diocese
• As a not for profit limited company operating within the family of the Diocese of
Oxford, the Keys AcademyTrust will be underpinned by Christian values to serve
local communities. Admissions policies will remain unchanged, and priority is
normally given to children in the local area. We welcome those of all faiths and
none, and celebrate the ethnic diversity within our schools. Working with the
Diocese we will seek to embody the Christian experience of community, where
gifts are shared, where the emphasis is on what can be contributed, rather than on
what might be received, and where to each is given according to need.
