2. Too many cases of diabetic foot ulcers still lead to amputation as a result of infection or
due to the severity of the ischaemia involved.
Hence in this study, we present two surgical situations following partial foot amputation
having required the use of TLC-NOSF dressings* to obtain rapid wound healing.
INTRODUCTION
*Brand name: the TLC-NOSF dressing is UrgoStart®
3. Amputation of the first ray of the foot in a context of deep infection.
The peroperative discovery of cellulitis extending up to the instep led to desloughing of
tissues up to the medial malleolus and drainage using a sheet drain before closure using
spaced sutures.
CLINICAL CASE 1
Secondary necrosis of edges: further
surgery to remove necrotic tissue and to
attempt directed healing and postoperative
negative pressure therapy sessions
4. Appearance at W1 under TLC-NOSF
DRESSING* . Start of filling by granulation
tissue and start of wound edge contraction
Appearance at W3, established healing of
the proximal and distal parts of the wound.
End of granulation
End of W4, end of epithelialisation despite
residual depression
CLINICAL CASE 1
*Brand name: the TLC-NOSF dressing is UrgoStart®
5. Amputation of the fourth toe and fifth ray of the foot, without skin closure. In the same
way as the previous case, we describe and illustrate the progression of closure of this
wound under TLC-NOSF dressing* over its six-week healing period.
Postoperative appearance Appearance at W4 after
treatment with TLC-NOSF
dressing*
Appearance at W6, end of
healing and of patient
follow-up
CLINICAL CASE 2
*Brand name: the TLC-NOSF dressing is UrgoStart®
6. In conclusion, our respective experiences with postoperative diabetic foot wounds confirm
the efficacy of TLC-NOSF dressing* in these indications.
CONCLUSION
