According to Social Insurance regulation from
01/01/2018, All objects have labor contract with duration
enough from 01 month that they must contribute
social insurance even they are in probationary time

Which kind of wage is basic to calculate
social insurance ?
The salary based for social insurance contribution is the
total salary/ wage (including salary-related allowances
regulated on point a, clause 3, article 4 of Circulars
47/215) indicated on the contract.
Salaries and allowances mentioned above must be
complied with the salary scale and payroll that the
enterprise has developed and registered with
the local labor office.

Do the directors, chairmen of private
enterprises have to contribute compulsory
insurance?
According to Social Insurance law of Vietnam, the directors,
chairmen of private enterprise are NOT an EXCEPTION.
The basic salary to contribute compulsory insurance of the
director, chairmen is regulated on a company charter that salary
must be registered with the authority managing in labor of

in this time? Does it need to report on reducing
and return health insurance card?
If The unpaid leave period is more than 50% of total
working days in month then there is NOT NEED to
contribute social insurance. Company must report on
temporarily reducing labor for this time, but not need to
return health insurance card.

company having higher salary. The rest companies will pay
employee the amount equivalent with the total obligation
insurance of employer at the same time with paying salary

In this case, you can not continually contribute social
insurance to enjoy monthly pension benefit. You can
perform procedure to enjoy social insurance allowance in
one-off paid
*If there is lack some months to reach 20 years of
contributing social insurance but no more than 05 years,
the employee can continually contribute till enough 20
years to enjoy monthly pension
