A presentation that highlights the significance of how social media can influence an adventure tourist. Two hypothetical tourists are created, and are given jobs, hobbies, incomes, and other various persona details. Then, I give a detailed description of how a husband and wife enjoy their time in Eastern, KY. The presentation serves as a way to promote the cultural, historical, and natural assets the Appalachian region has so others can utilize such assets for future tourism plans.

8. Wednesday Itinerary
• Everett stops at Here Come’s the Bun Bakery (Letcher) – 7 AM
• Total Spending: $4.50
• “How could anyone not want to go to a restaurant with such a playful,
quirky title? As if the title of the restaurant isn't enticing enough, the
food and ambiance are fantastic, too. The employees and owners are
incredibly amiable and the food is well-priced. I recommend the
strawberry cheesecake and tarts to any passerby and, if you're reading
this, then I expect you to stop by this restaurant! Their hours are a
little odd, they only serve breakfast and lunch, but the sweets are
delicious and I don't even like sweets. “

• Everett meets with Ada Smith at Appalshop – 4 PM
• Ada then takes Everett to Roundabout Music Company – 4:30 PM
• Total Spending: $15.22
• “For my first time ever in Whitesburg, Kentucky, I was impressed with the
uniqueness of the town and the different type of assets the town
possessed. One in particular was Roundabout Music Company which had
it's grand opening on the first weekend in June. The owners noticed that
the town lacked a space where locals, of all ages, could come to find their
favorite vinyl records in a laid back atmosphere. The music scene going in
Whitesburg is starting to take off as many local bars have mic nights,
showcase bands, and have places like Roundabout.”

Everett ends his evening here with Ada and the college students who told him that on Wednesday’s is open mic night and a great place for beer which he couldn’t find in Booneville (condolences to his wife). So, after a few beers he gets up and starts singing and ends his time in Whitesburg on a high note. The students were pleased to be able to meet him and have the chance to understand the lifestyle of a professional photographer, as well as the techniques he uses.
After a busy day-and-a-half in both Owsley and Letcher County, Julie and Everett head out earlier to return to New York by late Friday evening. Julie has enjoyed being able to spend time with her grandpa while Everett has enjoyed being a temporary mentor and tourist in the beautiful mountains of Letcher.
A collection of Everett and Julie’s spending from the time they left NY to the time they left Booneville.
Total spending for the Everett and Julie Brown. A large economical impact they are leaving within the eastern Kentucky communities.
Pine Mountain, Appalshop, Summit City Lounge, Noble’s Pioneer Museum, Appalachian Fireside Crafts were they favorite places visited while in Eastern, KY. They highly recommend the places and the trip for it being a nice get-a-away from the city. They were strongly satisfied with the trip and expenses seemed to be expected for their budget. Trip Advisor and word of mouth proved to be the biggest resources they used in planning their trip before hand and even in the moment. They hope to return to Letcher and Owsley County, but in the mean time will tell all of their friends about the breathtaking cultural, historical, and natural assets in Eastern, KY.
