• used to objectively describe the extent of
impaired consciousness.
• assesses patients according to three aspects of
responsiveness: eye-opening, motor, and
verbal responses.
• Uses:
• Efficient interdisciplinary communication of a
patients condition.

7. • Used asses the cognitive status of patients.
• Can be used as a screening tool for assessing
cognitive disorders.
Interpretation:
• More than 24 no impairment
• 18-23 mild
• 0-17 severe
