With over 20 years of experience, Milwaukee-based Dr. Mark Wichman currently serves as an orthopedic surgeon with Aurora Advanced Healthcare. Dr. Mark Wichman also serves as the team physician for the Milwaukee Admirals Hockey Team. A member of several professional organizations, Dr. Wichman is a part of the Arthroscopy Association of North America.

2. INTRODUCTION
 With over 20 years of experience, Milwaukee-based Dr. Mark
Wichman currently serves as an orthopedic surgeon with Aurora
Advanced Healthcare. Dr. Mark Wichman also serves as the
team physician for the Milwaukee Admirals Hockey Team. A
member of several professional organizations, Dr. Wichman is a
part of the Arthroscopy Association of North America.
With over 4,000 members, the Arthroscopy Association of North
American is an international organization that is committed to
advancing minimally invasive surgeries. To that end, the
organization established the AANA Education Foundation to
support its mission and goals. Over $1 million has been raised to
fund numerous educational programs such, as resident
scholarships, research grants, and traveling fellowships.

3. ARTHROSCOPY ASSOCIATION OF NORTH
AMERICA
 Traveling fellowships are a key component of the foundation’s
effort to train orthopedic surgeons in the latest technologies. Each
year, four surgeons are selected to spend 10 days travelling to
three different educational sites to learn from experienced
surgeons. In 2017, the sites included time at the University of
Connecticut, Rush University Medical Center, and the University
of Colorado. This unique opportunity allows the traveling fellows
to learn, network, and forge mentoring relationships with leaders
in arthroscopic surgery.
An applicant for the traveling fellowship program must be a
member of AANA. He or she should submit a curriculum vitae, a
500 word essay describing his or her motives for being a part of
the program, and two letters of recommendation from board-
certified orthopedic surgeons. Since the inception of the program,
37 surgeons have been able to participate as traveling fellows.
