GUJARAT MINERAL DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION LTD (GMDC) is a flagship
Public Sector Undertaking of Governmrnt of Gujarat, India. The Corporation is
engaged in harnessing the mineral resource, beneficiating the minerals and Power
generation. The company commence its opération with a small crushing plant in
1963 in Gujarat State. At present GMDC is actively running a thermal power plant
(2x125 MW), wind farms (100 MW), solar power plant (5MW) Flourspar
Manganese, Limestone, Multi metal (Cu, Pb Zn) mines, two mineral benificiation
plants, five lignite mines and eight bauxite mines with calcination plant across the
Gujarat state. Besides other new projects Underground Coal Gasification, Setting up
of Power projects based on coal to be supplied by GMDC, Cement Plant, Lignite
based Power Project 500 MW power plant at Bhavnagar, Speciality Aluminium
