1. The ICMJE recommends four criteria for authorship on a medical publication: substantial contributions to conception/design, drafting or revising the work, final approval, and agreement to be accountable. 2. All individuals who meet the first criterion should have opportunity to review and approve the manuscript. 3. Editors do not determine authorship or arbitrate conflicts; author order is decided by the author group. 4. The corresponding author ensures communication with the journal during submission and review.
