SAMPLING OF PROFESSIONAL ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Database Design
Redesigned and implemented the database used by ATX’s GPS tracking system. Initiated refactoring of the data
structures initially used to track personal automobiles. Utilized abstraction to increase flexibility in the data structure and
allow an unlimited number of mobile asset types to be tracked. Designed and implemented the improved database.
Results: Immediately allowed ATX to track any type of mobile asset from ATM machines to Zambonis with over a 300%
increase in revenue.
Created enterprise level database for major cabinet manufacturer. Evaluated all aspects of the cabinet industry and
manufacturing process to determine the best data structures for Zee Manufacturing’s 9.6 million possible cabinet
configurations. The database included structures for customer data, bills of material, material tracking and inventory control,
EDI integration, order processing, shipping, invoicing, bills of lading, carrier data, and UPC assignment.
Results: Eliminated three redundant and several auxiliary databases into one system-wide database, thus reducing the
cost of maintaining and servicing several overlapping databases. This reduced operational costs by 27% and increased
order accuracy by 78%.
Software Development
Developed data-driven pricing logic engine. Analyzed the salesforce’s need for an unlimited variety of pricing structures.
Instead of implementing the typical “Factory” design pattern, analysis showed we could capture all required pricing structure
information in a database and develop software to apply each unique structure to the corresponding customer.
Results: Reduced the amount of time it took to set up a new customer’s pricing structure from one to two weeks to less
than five minutes.
Created shop floor/job order scheduling software. Developed and implemented software that displayed information for
each order needed to make scheduling decisions, and allowed the user to schedule individual or groups of orders to be
produced on a selected day. The software then produced reports showing each day’s scheduled orders grouped by user
selected criteria.
Results: Streamlined and strengthened shop floor scheduling, reducing errors and improving performance.
2. Web Development
Created and launched LockOnFitness.com. There are a multitude of fitness websites that allow users to track their
fitness activities. Lock On Fitness provides fitness activity tracking also, but more importantly, it provides for tracking the
results of those activities. The tracking tools available at Lock On Fitness include a highly accurate body composition
calculator, VO2max calculator, and an exertion-based MHR (maximum heart rate) calculator.
Results: Users can now see how their activities are impacting their fitness outcomes in detail. Those working at losing
weight can track fat loss and changes in metabolism. Those concerned with cardio fitness can track improvements in how
the body utilizes oxygen. And every user can base their exercise intensity on an accurate maximum heart rate.

Business Analysis
Key contributor in analyzing business rules for new GPS tracking industry. Intimately involved in forecasting possible
scenarios and developing appropriate responses. These scenarios greatly impacted the data elements designed into the
database as well as the capabilities of the software developed.
Result: By anticipating and preparing for the security, safety, and convenience needs of our customers, the company was
able to provide an extremely high level of service starting with the initial release date of the product and onward.
