Dedication ceremony for memorial in honor of Jimmy Blackshear, Rickey Crews & Bobby Nail (5-19-2012).
Joey started inviting several of us to visit with him at Camp Blanding several years before we started gathering at the Civic Center. This may have been the first year when Tom Woodham, myself (Doug Combs), and Randy Miller met with Joey and his family. Later Maxie Norton and Bo Fuquay joined us and Joey was maxed out on guests he could get in to Camp Blanding. That’s when we decided to hold them at the Civic Center and invite as many kids as we could find, which turned out to be more than we thought possible.
