“GramBacter™: the way to know what is
“The right drug at the right time”.
Antibiotics can justifiably be called one of the great medical miracles of the 20th
century. They
have saved about 200 million lives since Alexander Fleming discovered penicillin in 1928.
What would a world without antibiotics be like? A world where gonorrhea can not be cured, a
world where Sepsis - blood poisoning – would be fatal, a world where the simplest of operations
carry the threat of disease. If we don’t do something soon we might have to face that nightmare.
Misuse of antibiotics is causing the bugs to become resistant; we’re inadvertently breeding a world
of superbugs- have you heard of MRSA?
By 2050 an estimated 10 million people will die every year if we don’t reduce our use of
antibiotics. We need to start using the right drug at the right time! GramBacter™ will be able to
tell you in 5 minutes if you need antibiotics or not and if you do which antibiotic you need.
THis 3 month campaign will fund a patient based study to show this tool works.
Be part of history; help save at least 1 million lives.
THis, can be the answer: You can be the answer. Everyone can be the answer to one of the greatest
global health threats of our time.

“Antimicrobial resistance poses a catastrophic threat. If we don’t act now, any one of us could go
into hospital in 20 years for minor surgery and die because of an ordinary infection that can’t be
treated by antibiotics. And routine operations like hip replacements or organ transplants could be
deadly because of the risk of infection
