2. TITLE:- Prevalence of Insomnia ,Anxiety & Depression in post
COVID-19 adult
INTRODUCTION:-
-COVID-19 ( novel coronavirus disease)[1]] In December 2019 it was first discovered in Wuhan, Hubei
Province and it spread across china and then to many other countries.[2] The COVID-19 epidemic has
become a pandemic which was declared by WHO on March 11, 2020. And WHO also reported more than
15 million people were infected and 635,173 died due to COVID-19 as of July 25, 2020.[3] The second
wave of COIVD -19 had a huge impact on India.[4]
--After COVID-19 there has been significant changes occurred in human life across the world [5] The
studies suggest that Noninfectious chronic disease patients quarantined persons, and COVID-19 patients
had a higher risk of depression and anxiety than other populations.[6]
3. -The mental impact of SARS persisted and remained clinically significant among the
survivors for up to 4 years of follow-up.[7]SARS-CoV-2 infection can lead to
psychological problems like Anxiety,depression and sleep deprivation symptoms It can be
occurred due to body immune response against virus or by psychological stressors like
impact on mental health due to severe and likely fatal illness, social isolation, worried
about that they might infect others and stigma.[8]
-However, only a few studies are exploring the psychological problems of COVID-19
patients after recovery.[9]
4. NEED OF STUDY:-
-Covid-19 has a huge impact on an individual's life. COVID-19 direct and indirect effect has
more impact on mental health in COVID-19 patients than other populations.
-This study is to determine the mental health status among Post COVID-19 Adults.
AIM OF STUDY:-
-To investigate sleep status & psychological status of post COVID-19 Adults.
6. HYPOTHESIS:-
1. NULL HYPOTHESIS:-
H01:- There is no significant presence of Insomnia in post-COVID-19 Adults
H02:- There is no significant presence of Anxiety and Depression in post-COVID-19 Adults
2. ALTERNATIVE HYPOTHESIS:-
H11: There is a significant presence of Insomnia in post-COVID-19 Adults
H12:-There is a significant presence of Anxiety & Depression in post-COVID-19 Adults
9. Exclusion Criteria:-
-Individuals currently having COVID-19
-Presence of Personality Problems
- unable to complete questionnaires due to severe mental or physical
conditions.
10. l PROCEDURE:-
1.Participants will be informed about the research and a consent form will be taken
2.Individuals will be screened for inclusion and exclusion criteria. An individual meeting the
inclusion criteria and willing to participate in the study will be included in the study.
3.Total individuals will be taken in study [n=]
4.Participants will be given self-assisted Insomnia Severity scale and Hospital Anxiety
Depression Scale.

11. OUTCOME MEASURES:-
Insomnia Severity Index [10]
- The ISI is a 7-item self-report questionnaire assessing the nature, severity, and impact of insomnia
-The total score is interpreted as follows: absence of insomnia (0–7); sub-threshold insomnia (8–14);
moderate insomnia (15–21); and severe insomnia (22–28)
Hospital Anxiety Depression Scale[11]
The questionnaire comprises seven questions for anxiety and seven questions for depression, and takes 2–5min to
complete
The total score is interpreted as follows: 8-10 mild, 11-14 moderate, 15-21 Severe Anxiety and depression.
