In this study, a salt-stress pot experiment was conducted to evaluate the effects of AMF on growth of Zea mays L. plants, grown in sirt saline soil-Libya, which was reflected on fertilization of soil and reduction of both cost and environ mental pollution. Experimental units were supplied with chemical fertilizers as recommended to Zea mays L. plants, with the exception of phorphorus being added with three concentrations (0, 50 and 100 kg p/ha). Results showed the a significant increase of the strain Rhizophagus intraradices where the infection rate was 92%, followed by the strain which was 90.33% and the lowest infection rate was for the strain Scutellospora sp., which was 83%. Also showed that the fungi Scutellospora sp., Claroideoglomus etunicatum were significantly better strains tested on wet and dry weight of shoot. Also the interference between inoculation and levels of phosphate fertilization in the saline soils the studied characters significantly, (mean weight diameter, percentage of root infection, root length, dry weights of shoot and root growth. The interference between inoculation and Levels of phosphorus in the saline soils, increased the studied characters significantly, in particular, significant increase for most of treatments of the mycorrhizal strains. Abstract:
Air pollution tolerance index (APTI) has been determined by pooling the at-tributes viz., total chlorophyll, ascorbic acid and moisture content of leaves and leaf extract pH for certain locally available tree species in and around Kothagiri Municipal Town, the Nilgiris. Of the 24 species analyzed 6 tree species such as Alnus nepalensis, Callistemon lanceolata, Eucalyptus ficifolia, Ficus elastica, Michelia champaca and Toona ciliate recorded higher APTI values. within their extended home ranges. These local, upper trophic level species are believed to be especially vulnerable to
metals and play a very important role as environmental contamination indicators. The concentration of Lead (Pb),
Cadmium (Cd), Copper (Cu), Zinc (Zn) and Iron (Fe) were determined in feather samples of Long-billed vultures (Gyps
indicus) (n = 100) collected from Tikamgarh, Lalitpur, Shivpuri, Chanderi and Panna Districts of Bundelkhand Region
during 2007-2011. Sample preparation and analyses of metals were performed in the Indian Veterinary Research Institute,
Izatnagar, Bareilly. Metal level in the samples was analyzed by Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AAS 4141,
ECIL, Hyderabad, India) wavelength of 229.5 nm (detection limit 0.005 μg/mL) and 217 nm (detection limit 0.025
μg/mL), respectively with 6mA current. The concentration of Cd, Pb, Cu, Zn and Fe determined in all the feathers
collected from five sites was within the range of 0.1μg/g-0.4 μg/g, 0.47μg/g-6.4 μg/g, 2.9μg/g- 8.11μg/g, 9 μg/g- 21.4
μg/g and 18.3μg/g- 194.9μg/g respectively According to ANOVA test, significant differences (0.05) were found for metals
(Pb, Cd, Cu, Zn and Fe) in all feathers from Tikamgarh, Lalitpur, Shivpuri, Chanderi and Panna. When the metal toxicity
results in feathers were seen district wise (Tikamgarh, Lalitpur, Shivpuri, Chanderi and Panna) no significant variance
were reported in the occurrence of metals. No significant relationships were found between the metals in feather sample
concentrations and their death. It can therefore be concluded that the metal concentrations are much below the lethal toxic
levels and had no affect on the health of the dead vultures. The results of this study allowed concluding that the
Long-billed vultures in the study area were not exposed to metal poisoning. The absence of linkage between the metal

ABSTRACT- Ramgarh taal is an important water body of Gorakhpur, U.P, India, which received untreated effluents
from different sources of Gorakhpur city. The aim of the present study was to evaluated the toxic impact of these effluents
on water quality of water and its toxic effect on fish population present in this lake with two sets of experiments (1) Fish
caged in pollution free water i.e. control group and (2) Fish directly caught from different sites of water body. The
effluents discharged in this water body caused significant alterations in pollution parameters of water and significantly
altered the biochemical profile (total amino acid levels increased while total protein, Glycogen and nucleic acid levels
decreased from the levels of control group) and hematological parameters (PLTs, WBCs, RBCs, HGB, HCT, MCV,
MCHC etc) decreased from the levels of control group. Seasonally variations in Physico-chemical parameters
(Temperature, pH, DO, BOD and COD) of water body also measured. Which were much higher than the tolerance limit
recommended by General standard by Central Pollution Control Board of India.

Physiological stress indicates the environmental pressures which affect the
plant physiology and change it. The experiment was conducted as split plot in
randomized complete block design with three replications on safflower (Carthamus
tinctorius) from 2015 to 2016. Treatments were: 1) Irrigation: without stress (irrigation
after 70 mm evaporation from evaporation pan class A) and drought stress (irrigation
after 150 mm evaporation from pan class A) was considered as the main factor and
the concentration of salicylic acid with three levels (0.100 and 200 mg L-1) as the first
sub-factor. The second sub-factor includes the concentrations of three levels of
potassium sulphate (0.05 and 1 mg L-1). The interaction between drought stress and
potassium sulphate and also potassium sulphate and salicylic acid were significant on
the induction of plant height. With regard to this, the comparison between salicylic
acid and potassium sulphate interaction on the safflower plant height and the highest
plant height (107.3 cm) was obtained by using 200 mg salicylic acid plus 1 mg L-1 of
potassium sulphate. The combined analysis of data indicated that interaction between
potassium sulphate × salicylic acid on the grain yield was significant. The highest grain
yield (1550 kg ha-1) belonged to the foliar application of 100 mg salicylic acid and 0.5
mg L-1 of potassium sulphate interaction. The interaction of salicylic acid and
potassium sulphate was significant on the biological yield, and the highest biological
yield was obtained with 200 mg L-1 of salicylic acid and 0.5 mg L-1 of potassium
sulphate. Therefore, in order to compensate for some of the harmful effects of stress
and enable the plant to return to normal growing conditions after re-watering, foliar
application of such chemical compounds on plant can be effective and plays an
