1. My Favorite Person
1. My favorite person is Martin Wickramasinha. He was born
in 1998 in Galle. He studied up to grade 5 class only but he
is considered as the most famous novelist in Sri Lanka, As
well as a philosopher, because he wrote a number of books
in Sinhala literature, Buddhism and Philosophy. Some of
his novels have been translated in to several foreign
languages. ‘Gamperaliya’, ‘Madoldoowa’ and etc. Even
Today no one has surpassed his books.
2. He is C.W.W. Kannangara. He was born in 1918 at
Ambalangoda. He studied at his village school and later
joint Richmond College, Galle. He was a very clever
student both education and sports. Later he became a
teacher and lawyer. He entered in politics and became the
first minister of Education in Sri Lanka. He introduced free
education from pre-school to university, free text book,
uniforms, midday meals, central school , scholar ship
examination an etc. He did a great service to motherland. It
was revalution because the village children and rural
became doctors, proctors, engineers, judges, directors,
secretaries, administrators , professors andpoliticians. We
must respect this proud son of mother soil.
