Sound Edit Questions Pokemon Colosseum
1. Jason Finch
1. How you think the sound in your chosen example has been produced (production
techniques)
I think that this music was made by using Trumpets, Bells, Symbols, Drums, Flutes and
Pianos. Trumpets were in a majority of the soundtrack, Bells were only used only a few times
during the beginning, Symbols were only used a few times, blending in with the Trumpets,
Drums were used a bunch of times, only not as much as the Trumpets, Flutes were only used
near the end of the track and a piano was used at the very last few seconds.
2. What post-production techniques have been used to create the soundtrack (using subject
specific terminology)
I think that they have made this track echo a lot, it has also sounded as if it has blended
some instruments together to give the sound a bit more effect, like the symbols sounding
like they were blending with the trumpets and the bells, the track also starts to fades out at
the end as the piano is just about to finish playing.
3. How the sound design of your chosen examples might enhance the gaming experience for
audiences.
This soundtrack can make the audience feel that they are about to become a legend for
doing the unexpected, the part at the end of the soundtrack can make the audience think
that there is more surprises to discover.
