Conducted research in work pertaining to the study of the brain's involvement in
the development of obesity and metabolic disorders, using in vivo and ex vivo
experiments. Designed and directed experiments using multiple wet lab
molecular techniques including PCR, western blot, ELISA and IHC. Trained
students on laboratory procedures and mouse handling. Published two first
author papers on KSR2 and its role in the development of obesity. Silver U Award
winner years 2005, and 2016.
05/2000 to 08/2003 Research Technologist II

Conducted experiments that involved the role of homeobox (HOX) genes in the
development of the skeleton during embryogenesis. Performed folate
supplementation during murine pregnancy, to rescue the cartilage defects
present in HoxB6 knock-out mice. Presented data from experiment at two
different symposiums. Silver U Award winner year 2003.
