Whether you’re seeking employ-
ment with a major corporation,
searching for the perfect intern-
ship, or are just looking for a part-
time job, it is important to present
yourself as a professional.
Here at Roosevelt University’s
Entrepreneurship Academy, we
want you to look your best! We
are here to help you every step of
the way.
We will have prestigious guest
speakers visiting us, and we will
also be visiting major businesses;
therefore, it is important that we
all look the part.
We will be wearing both business
casual and business professional
attire throughout the week. This
paper will explain the difference
between business casual and
business professional.

Business casual attire reflects profes-
sionalism without the formality of pant
suits, skirt suits, and ties. Button-
down shirts, sweaters, polo’s, and car-
digans convey a professional image,
without being overly formal.
For women, blouses, pencil or A-line
skirts, and stockings are considered
business casual and is appropriate for
the office.
For men, slacks similar to suit pants in
cotton, synthetic, or wool mater mate-
rial, partnered with a button down shirt
is acceptable business casual attire.
Business casual is acceptable attire
for the office; however, it is not the
choice attire when going on interviews
or to job fairs. For the professional
occasion, always choose business
professional.
Interviews, internships, and job fairs
require business professional cloth-
ing. This type of attire includes
suits, dresses, and skirt suits.
Suits should be tailored and paired
with a tailored shirt and a necktie for
men. For women, the suits should
also be tailored and can be paired
with a blouse with no more than two
buttons left unbuttoned.
All business clothing should be
neatly pressed. Also, as a general
rule, all-leather belts are typical
standard for business professional
attire.
Women may wear heels no higher
than 2 inches. And for men, leather
and suede shoes are always a
standard in business professional
attire.

FUME, COLOGNE, BODY

In the pursuit of internships and full-time
employment opportunities, it is important
to be aware that visible tattoos may not
be permitted or considered appropriate.
Strong fragrances can be offensive or can
interfere with peoples’ allergies. Jewelry
and makeup should be simple and under-
stated.
