2. Pro: Steroid Legalization
Many athletes have already used Performance Enhancing
Drugs (PED) that people don’t know about
It will even out the playing field for professional athletes
Mark McGwire
Shattered a 37 year old record
Jersey sold off the shelves
MLB made more money
Steroids don’t make you a better athlete practice does
3. Pro: Steroid Legalization
Legalizing steroids or PED’s will create an opportunity
to regulate them
Failing to legalize has been a waste of time and money,
if an athlete wants to use them he will
Athletes will always look for a way to get an edge on
their opponent
Bodybuilding athletes use them and compete with no
complaints
4. Con: Steroid Legalization
Athletes are looked upon as mentors, this will effect the
decisions made by kids to use steroids
Sports are meant to make you challenge the body not make
you seek a shortcut to be better
Steroids are like drugs they will become an addiction
Side effects include heart attacks, liver cancer, tumor, acne,
cyst, fluid retention, delusions and more
5. Con: Steroid Legalization
Research has indicated that people use other drugs to
alleviate the negative effects of steroids they are taking
Steroids or PED’s are not required to become strong
PED’s will not increase your ability or skill to hit a ball or
throw a ball to a specific target, that still takes practice

8. Conclusion
My thoughts are that people want to always do what ever
is possible to get an edge on their competitor. They lose
their sight on how to do things properly and go for the
shortcut. I am against the use of steroids or PEDs.
Athletes are already so talented if they play professionally,
if they feel that they can’t use their ability to outplay
someone they should work hard to benefit from an
opponents weakness. I’m sure they understand the side
effects of using them and continue to use them illegally,
but this is ethically wrong. They are placing
consequentialism into action and shall prepare for it once
they are caught.

Situation
As a coach, a game is in play and you find out the
opponents use steroids/PEDs. You then come to find out
that your star player on your team is using them. Should you
place your star players career in jeopardy or side talk him
into trying not to take these PEDs?
Would you also then report your star player to the league or
keep it under wraps?
