1. Dear Beautiful Humans,
On behalf of Eros, we would like to welcome you to Trinity College! We are Eros- Encouraging Respect of
Sexualities- Trinity College’s gay-straight alliance. Eros advocates for tolerance and educates the campus on
social issues faced by LGBTQI individuals. We hope to foster free and open discussion regarding these topics
and promote acceptance of LGBTQI individuals in this effort.
We are students of all sexualities! That means yours too! I’m Madeline, and as an ally, I can’t speak enough
about how much this organization means to me. Out of all the different clubs, organizations, and academic
programs that I am involved in at Trinity, Eros is the one place where I feel that my individual efforts make
a difference. I became involved in Eros towards the end of my first year, and since then, I’ve seen it radically
transform from a club that consisted of about three and a half members to a thriving community of students
and faculty, that are all invested in making this campus a safe and welcoming environment for all students.
My name is Seth and I’m a rising sophomore. Eros was one of the best choices I made my first year. It gave
me the opportunity to get involved in social activism and meet a genuine and caring group of people. When
home for you is the other side of the country- California- finding a second one among sincere and friendly
people with common interests was immensely needed. Eros is not just a club for me; it’s a community.
I’m Denicia, and I too, was excited to join Eros my first year of college. As you come to the house your first
time, it is perfectly okay to feel nervous! Your nervousness will soon go away as you get to know all of the
unique people here in Eros and at Trinity. The people that I have met in Eros have become some of my closest
friends here and I have no doubt that such will happen to you. I cannot wait to meet you all this year!
So, join us this year and help us create a campus that is safe and welcoming for all. Feel free to stop by on
Sundays for Brunch (#freefood), or come to our weekly E-Board meetings. Bring your homework! Bring your
friends!
We are located on 114 Crescent Street (the blue house behind LSC- Life Sciences Center). Help us make your
first year spectacular!

T he National Day of Silence may
not be for everyone. I’m going to try to
participate, but I know it’s going to be
a struggle since I cannot refrain from
talking for more than maybe 10 minutes
maximum at a time. But, that’s not go-
ing to stop me from acknowledging and
reflecting on this growing issue right in
front of us.
