Needs for Joint Venture • Its a 50:50 Joint Venture between The Coca-Cola Company and Nestle named as Beverage Partners Worldwide. • Improve Access to New Markets to strengthen its position in instant ready to drink tea segment since Coca-Cola always believed in non-carbonated beverages. • nestea’s connection to technological resources using coca-cola’s World class bottling technology. • Strategic Move Against Competition with PepsiCo's J.V. with Unilever for distributing Lipton iced tea. • With shared access to technological and distribution resources, Coca-Cola and Nestea wanted to market more efficiently to Improve Speed to Market .

- 6. disadvantages of this joint venture • Joint Venture Did Not Reap the Expected Benefits – The joint venture has not been as successful as the one formed between PepsiCo and Unilever under which PepsiCo will market and distribute unilever’s lipton ice tea in the U.S. – Coca-Cola and Nestle are no longer taking the Nestea Plunge together in the U.S.
