Group Art/ Fine Motor activity based off the book “The Snow Man” by Raymond Briggs.
25 minute sessions
Learning Objectives
Students will be able to connect text to real life objects or activities.
Students will be able to demonstrate fine motor skills through cutting and writing.
Students will be able to count the stones in their snowman smile.

Review “The Snowy Day”
Review the things you can do in the snow.
Watch the video book.
Question: Have you ever made a snowman?
Directions
Day 1
Pick globe template (blue or gold)
Put name on the back of globe
Pick out snowman pieces
o Snowman
o Scarf
o hat, earmuffs, or hair
o Eyes
o Glasses (optional)
o Stones for the mouth
Decorate remaining template with drawings
Glue cotton balls for snow
Day 2
Get pictures and paste on globe
Cut out globe base on wood design paper
Paste globe base on template
Glue date to the base
Teacher hot glue the plate to the globe
Teacher cut hole to add the snow flakes
Students add snow through hole with a pinching motion.
Tape opening closed.
