1. Welcome to Liberal Studies: Humanities/Social Science.
Liberal Studies: Humanities/Social Science (LSHSS) is an exciting, interdisciplinary major that provides the
opportunity to complete requirements of the major by choosing multiple subject areas. LSHSS offers 22
subject areas known as Program Sequences.
There are two types of Program Sequences: Program A Sequences and Program B Sequences.
Students must choose either one sequence from the A list and one from the B list OR two sequences from the
A list to meet LSHSS requirements. Education majors with LSHSS as the dual major must choose Program
Sequences approved for Teacher Certification (indicated with *).

LSHSS accepts a maximum of 90 transfer credits. However, each Program Sequence requires earning a
minimum number of credits at Rowan University. The minimum GPA requirement for LSHSS degree
completion is 2.0.
Courses to complete Program Sequences may not be offered every semester.
