Aug 15 to Present Coventry & Rugby CCG (CRCCG)
Based in Coventry the CCG represents 75 GP practices spread across the Coventry & Rugby area, administering a
2014/15 budget of circa £554 million.
Title: Interim Senior Contract Manager
Responsible for fine-tuning the acute contract between CRCCG and the University Hospital of Coventry &
Warwickshire, and establishing regular contract performance monitoring. Also involved with Out of Area
Associate acute contracts within a number of key trusts. Negotiating with local and regional ISTC’s to undertake a
set level of procedures (Hernia’s, Cardiac ESP, Trauma & Orthopedic, and Gastro etc) to help reduce acute
backlogs and number of performance breaches. Re-alignment of AQP contracts specifically Adult Hearing &
Podiatry.
Participation on RTT Board, Policy Development Board, IFR Boatd, with reporting responsibility to Governing
Body team.
Dec 14 to Jul 14 NHS England – North Midlands
Operating out of the Mansfield office and concentrating on Dental contracts within acute hospitals in Derbyshire
& Nottinghamshire counties, and also some out of area Trusts.
Title: Interim Contracting Manager
Establishment and agreement of Secondary Dental activity with acute hospital providers, through all categories
of dental treatment including Oral and IV sedation, up to Maxifillofacial surgery. The contracted values from
2015/2016 range from £250.000 < £6 million.
Have also been responsible for managing 2 complete AQP procurement processes, to appoint Intermediate
Minor Oral Surgery providers in order to encourage patients to receive advanced dental treatment without
admission to an acute unit. This has involved establishing a full AQP service specification to form the basis for
AQP application via NHS Resources, leading to the ITT controlled by the BAVO solution software package. Have
organised and led the evaluation panel resulting in provider selection and appointment through to final
contracts. Additionally, I am involved in an on-going national fraud investigation in conjunction with NHS Protect
/ NHS England Legal and DAC Beachcroft.
Sep 14 to Dec 14 Royal United Hospital FT
Contracting managing within an acute hospital environment (Royal United Hospital Bath) where hands-on
experience of step-down contracting was required.
Title: Interim Contracting Manager
Negotiation on behalf of RUH Bath with a number of ISTC providers in order to establish short term step-down
contracts to ensure that time based contract breaches were minimised, there-bye reducing the Trusts liability for
contract breach penalties. The two key disciplines were Gynecology Diagnostics and Angioplasty. Additionally,
prepared an outline policy for the department’s information governance realignment.

June 14 to Sept 14 East Leicestershire CCG
Provision of contracting, and contract variation, experience within the CCG Contract and Performance group
Title: Senior Interim Contracting Manager
Responsible for all 2014/2015 AQP contracts within the East Leicestershire and Rutland CCG area including
MSK, Ultrasound, Vasectomy, Carpel Tunnel, Electrocardiograph, Cataract etc. Establishing a large number of
Contract Variations to take into account changes in premises, sub-contractors, working conditions which also
require site visits to ensure QUIPP standards are met. Responsible for Non PO Invoice approval using the
SBS/Oracle system.
Aug 13 to June 14 Central Eastern CSU
Providing senior contracting experience on an initial 3 month assignment, establishing and performance
managing contracts on behalf of 4 South Essex CCG’s.
Title: Senior Interim Contracting Manager
Responsible for the negotiating of an agreed 2013/2014 Foot position from 23 London National and Associate
Acute Contracts, which include; Barts, Royal Free, Chelsea & Westminster, Great Ormond Street, Royal Marsden
plus 18 others.
Agreeing CCG counter proposals for 2014/2015 contracts, together with performance management procedures
based upon IR Rules both national and local based. Also have “hands on” experience of contract negotiation and
performance management of 12 VSO, 23 MSK/AQP and 11 GPwSI contracts.

Mar 13 to June 13 NHS Sandwell & WB CCG (CSU)
Working on a 3 month assignment under the control of the Central Midlands CSU, but embedded on CSU
behalf within Sandwell & West Birmingham Clinical Commissioning Group.

Responsible for the generation of a number of 2013-2014 Standard Contracts predominantly contracting and
commissioning End of Life, Palliative Care services into the Sandwell and Birmingham Cross City area. Using
the newly introduced internet based e-Contract template, provided by the NHS Commissioning Board.
Aug 12 to Feb 13 NHS Kidney Care
NHS Kidney Care works with healthcare professionals and commissioners to improve every aspect of kidney
care for patients
Title:Project Manager
Responsible for the management of an Acute Kidney Injury Audit of Outcomes and Care Processes project,
involving 47 Acute Foundation Trusts across the UK. Responsibilities include the management of the project
activities of Specialist Consultants and Clinical Leads within those Trusts to ensure that tight deadlines for
secure data submissions are fully met. Additionally to hold administrative control over the individual funding
packages granted to the participating Trusts.
Jan 12 to July 12 NHS ONEL
NHS Outer North East London which is a partnership of local Primary Trusts comprised of NHS Barking &
Dagenham, NHS Havering, NHS Redbridge & NHS Waltham Forest.
Title: Associate Director Contracting
Responsible for a 7 person team implementing the DoH/SHA contract Transition from PCT to eventual CCG
ownership. The team has completed Full Data Capture (Stocktaking) and driven through a cleansing remedial
programme, together with financial and legal verification into the Risk Analysis Stabilisation phase. A clean
Database has now been developed covering 2900 Adult CHC & FNC Patients plus 400 Children, ready for
migration into a bespoke IT care package (Broadcare) which will go live early June 2012.

Feb 10 to Nov 10 EMPACT
The East Midlands Procurement and Commissiong Transformation was an organisation formed to support the
commissioning activities of 9 East Midlands PCT’s throughout the East Midlands region. EMPACT is fully
funded by the 9 PCT’s and acts as a facilitator in a number of outstanding Contracting and Commissioning
issues, presently outside the scope of PCT activity.

Fully responsible for facilitating the introduction of a new Non Emergency Patient Transport Service (NEPTS) to
be fully mandated as and from 1

July 2010. Additionally, have responsibility for establishing a professional
Back Office Function for EMPACT plus the integration of 30 existing regional staff into EMPACT from October
2010 onwards. Setting benchmarks and undertaking contract performance measurement of the effectiveness
of Acute contracts covering Haematology, Oncology, Medical Oncology, Cardiac and Cardiac Devices, High
Cost Drugs within major hospitals and GP practices both on GMS and PMS contractual basis.
Jan 10 to Feb 10 NHS Coventry
Short term assignment to review and renew a number of Voluntary Organisation contracts, covered under
the Community Health Contract.
May 09 to Dec 09 NHS Berkshire West
NHS Berkshire West covers a large area including Newbury, Reading and Wokingham. providing health services
in the community, at home and in hospitals. In Berkshire West there are 55 GP surgeries, 68 NHS dental
practices, 67 pharmacies and 42 opticians. NHS operates an annual budget of £625million.
Title: Interim Contracting Manager
Operating with the Commissioning & System Reform Directorate, with specific responsibility for the
performance of the Patient Transport Service (PTS) within the South Central Ambulance area. This also
includes renegotiation of the Non Emergency Patient Transport Services (NEPTS) together with the difficult to
control Extra Contractual Requirements (ECR) both inside and outside of the PCT area, on Performance Board
dealing with national Ambulance Contract. Additional involvement within ISTC private sector provider
contract exit and re- entry specification under Willing Provider Status, also on Board of ISTC GC4 contract.
Strong “hands on” experience of SUS and Slam data analysis and reconciliation, with emphasis upon the
application and control of PbR and HRG 3.5 & 4 procedural charges. Representing PCT in major steering group
meetings throughout the South Central area. Also responsible for Contract Performance within a number of
Voluntary Organisations.
Sept 08 to Apr 09 Oxfordshire PCT
The PCT came into existence in 2006, pulling together practices previously overseen by both North & South
Oxon PCT’’s covering an area from Chipping Norton in the North down to Henley -on-Thames in the south.
This area covers 56 general GP practices and 40 dental surgeries, 40 ophthalmic premises, 60 pharmacy
premises and we directly employ more than 1800 people, (headcount) over 900 of who provide community
based healthcare across 27 nursing teams, and over 600 provide mental health and learning disability services
across the borough. The services include 24 hour district nursing, health visiting, mental health, adults’ and
children’s learning disabilities, podiatry, audiology,

Trust providers outside of the Oxon area. Additionally, undertook responsibility for measuring
performance against contractual KPI’s, of all Voluntary Organisations supplying patient services.
Attended courses operated by DoH & the Regional SHA covering the implementation of the NHS
Standard Contract both Mental Health and Community Health, plus a further Acute Contract workshop.
Gained good al round working knowledge within acute contracts and acute contract performance
management.

service specifications, values and key performance indicators. To identify and agree with Associate Directors and
senior managers quality standards and objectives to be detailed within contra cts and SLAs. To take a key role in
the development of the annual and medium term (3 year) business plan(s) for the Directorate which take
account of all ongoing, new or developing business activities and which ensures support to the delivery of an
efficient and cost effective service.
Jan 07 to May 08 North Worcestershire Equestrian Centre
This is a major Midlands based Equestrian centre providing instruction, competitive training, vocational
training, disabled rider training and livery for 17 horses and schooling facilities,. Company has full
International size outside ménage, plus indoor school. Additionally, there is a separate Haflinger stud in
operation.

NWEC has an annualised turnover of circa £1.5 Million, with 5 full time employees and 17 college supported
NVQ students. Poor management skills and a total lack of good controls and procedures, combined with
unplanned and uncontrolled growth has produced a business that has been consistently losing cash. However
the company is asset positive, and has the ability to trade profitably. As this essentially is a Recovery Rescue
role, controls over operational activities have now been implemented, re-structuring has been completed and a
comprehensive Statement of Affairs has been produced. Application to the court for CVA status under UK
Insolvency legislation is now being made which, when crystallised, will allow continued and profitable trading.
May 07 to Sep 07 National Grid Wireless plc
Major UK based Telecommunications Company, providing wireless and broadcast facilities to terrestrial and
cable Television operators, Analogue and DAB Radio providers and all Mobile telephone operators. NGW has a
portfolio of broadcasting stations, complete with transmitting and receiving antennas, across the UK and
Ireland. Recently been the subject of a £2.5 Billion takeover by the major telecoms organisation, Arquiva,
supported by equity investment from the Australian bank Macquarie’s. The UK Office of Fair Trading
demanded an accounting exercise to establish an actual “fair value” for NGW to ensure no monopoly or
mergers framework had been breached.

Part of a management team applying Fair Value to both tangible and intangible assets as part of a Due
Diligence programme, to ensure that a £2.5 billion takeover meets OFT and MMC criteria. This involved
obtaining market valuations of all land and buildings, antennas & transmitters, together with all company fixed
assets detailed on the FA register. Application of a negotiated and agreed Discounted Replacement Value (in
conjunction with Price Waterhouse Coopers) resulted in a company “Fair Value“of £2.3 Billion being
established. This was presented in full to the board of NGW  Arquiva  Macquarie’s and PWC and accepted in
full.

ORIX (SWC) is an independent investment bank targeting manufacturing and service based companies for
equity investment from £500000 upwards. Investment was subject to the appointing of specialist ORIX (SWC)
senior managers to oversee the performance of the portfolio companies, ensuring each company controlled,
produced profit and could service the investment debt and ancillary charges
