STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURES
The Standard Operating Procedures (SOPS) compiled in this manual
have been prepared in compliance with the requirements of the US Code of
Federal Regulations.
Written Procedures for the processing, storage and distribution of
drug products in the United States are required by Part 211 of the Code of
Federal Regulations (21CFR 211 ), titles Current Good Manufacturing Practice
for Finished Pharmaceuticals (CGMPs).
These procedures are written, and executed to assure safe and reliable
handling of drug products at our facility. As required by Section 180 of the
CGMP regulation, all SOPS have been reviewed and signed by individuals
responsible for the execution of these regulations.
The procedures found herein are required for the processing and
handling and distribution of drug products, but, may at the discretion of
this firm's management, be applied to non-drug products as well, to ensure their
safe and reliable distribution.
The enclosed SOPS detail our commitment to the production and
distribution of products of high quality and to responsible regulatory
compliance.

2.0 MOVE PARTS TO CLEANING AREA )

3.1 Reattach pump face (maintain bolt order on pump face)
3.1.1 Tighten bolts on face plate by hand only
3.2 Place screen and gaskets at fitting locations
3.2.1 Assure proper order and placement of screens and gaskets
3.3 Reattach hoes and tubes using approved clamps
3.4 Check equipment to insure proper reassembly
3.5 Reconnect power

1.0 PURPOSE
In accordance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMPs) regulations (21 CFR 211.67) equipment
used in the manufacture of drug products must be cleaned and sanitized in order to prevent
contamination that would affect the safety, identity, strength, quality, or purity of the product. This
procedure describes how to sanitize the Simplex Single Head Piston Filler.
2.0 RESPONSIBILITY
2.1 The Production Supervisor (or his/her designate) is responsible for ensuring that his/her
personnel understand and follow the procedures described herein.
2.2 The Quality Control Manager (or his/her designate) is responsible for ensuring that the
SPFS filler is sanitized in accordance with the instruction described herein.
3.0 MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT
3.1 Five (5) gallon pail
3.2 Spray bottles
3.3 Quat Sanitizer solution (prepared per SOP MF-0425)
3.4 Sopropyl alcohol 70% (IPA).
3.5 Standard detergent solution (prepared per SOP MF-0425)
3.6 Scrub brush(es) (of appropriate size(s) and slopes(s))
3.7 Sink
3.8 Sponge
3.9 Plastic Baggies
3.10 Timer
3.11 Plastic Bag (large)
3.12 Drip Pan
