Feeling the pressure of an
ever-growing list of design
requests...
As the world’s leading provider of open-source, enterprise IT
solutions, Red Hat’s brand management is a big job. With 85
offices in 35 countries, the business was struggling to keep
up with the ever-growing list of design requests that came in
daily from partners across the globe.
Red Hat had invested a lot of time and resources producing
and distributing marketing material for the APAC region, a
sector experiencing rapid growth. While the exercise was
necessary, it was also time-consuming, repetitive, exhausted
funds and sapped the brand marketing team’s energy.
Without an intelligent platform to generate a consistent,
high-quality production of branded materials, Red Hat’s
corporate brand had suffered through the improvised and
inconsistent execution of marketing assets.
Maintaining the Red Hat brand amid the expansion of the
business was proving impossible. Brand material could take
weeks to create and distribute, and even then, it wasn’t a
long-term solution.
There had to be a better way - one that didn’t mean throwing
more money or people at the problem. A strategy for
sustainable brand management to keep up with escalating
production needs with consistency and ease.

What if brand management was
simple, effective and stress-free?
With the help of Outfit, Red Hat has entered a new era of marketing material
production. Outfit’s cloud-based platform has transformed their corporate
brand into a truly dynamic system - configurable, flexible and accessible.
Using constraint-based templates, Outfit applied the power and flexibility of
HTML, CSS and Javascript to the creation and management of Red Hat’s brand
assets. Outfit’s online templates eliminated the need for Red Hat’s design
teams to manually produce new versions of the same creative material many
times over. Within months of using Outfit, Red Hat’s brand managers were
enjoying a range of benefits that previously eluded them.
• Constraint-based templates complied with design imperatives to protect
the integrity of the brand and ensure consistency.
• Simple customisation and easily shareable templates put Red Hat’s
marketing team in control and allowed designers to focus on major
projects.
• Production costs were slashed and design delays eliminated with users
able to create and edit materials in real time.
• Production of a broad range of materials for
a variety of target markets became easy with
dynamic customisation and automatic resizing
options.
• Outfit’s enhanced measurement and analysis
allowed Red Hat to analyse which version of
their brand assets is the most popular and
effective.

“We measure the benefits of Outfit just by the
requests we aren’t getting anymore. Every time
I see something being built by Outfit that would
otherwise be a custom piece of creative that
would have to be taken care of by my team. As
that list grows bigger, I know I’m saving more.”
Andy Fitzsimon, Lead Brand Manager, Global Regions at Red Hat
