David J. Aceto has over 12 years of experience operating boilers and turbines using DCS and Mark VIe control systems. He has experience starting up and commissioning GE combined cycle combustion turbine generators. He is proficient in controlling emissions, water usage, lock-out tag-out procedures, and fuel usage including gas, oil, and coal. Currently he works executing start up and commissioning activities at a 655 MW natural gas power plant with 7-FA.05 GE steam turbine generators and a Mark VIe DCS system.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
NAES: Newark Energy Center (NEC) – Newark, NJ 2014-Present
Execute full start up and commissioning activities at the Newark Energy Center (NEC) which is a state-of-the-art 655 MW combined
cycle generating station that provides electric power supply to approximately 700,000 homes. Assist the start up team with lube oil
flushes, condensate flushes, first fires of CTGs, steam-blows. Participate in the inspection and walkdowns of systems and equipment
as turned over from the construction team. Establish all new procedures: operating and maintenance procedures, lock out tag out
procedures, and safety procedures.
Newark Energy Center is a natural gas power plant with 7-FA.05 General Electric D-11 Steam Turbine generators and a Mark VIe (6-
e) DCS system.
Dynegy Northeast Generation: Danskammer Station – Newburgh, NY 2006-2013
Control room responsibilities included lock out-tag out of any systems that needed to be isolated for safety purposes, controlling
electric voltage on transformers going out into the main system, plus the controlling of electrical systems throughout the entire plant.
Global plant responsibilities included de-energizing electrical equipment on a daily basis, trouble-shooting problems and providing
fast, accurate solutions.
Monitored equipment, operated valves, started-and-stopped equipment, provided routine checks including temperature/pressure and
amperage parameter checks, monitored gauges and oil levels. Ensured safe operation of the plant through the specialized training in
fire system maintenance, first aid/CPR, asbestos awareness, ash removal processes and spill control response and prevention.
Executed physical operation of high-pressure steam multiple-fuel boilers, as well as the set-up/shut down operation using manual
auto-stations and Ovation digital control systems (DCS).
Prepared daily operating logs and any necessary reporting of inappropriate NOx/SOx and opacity output levels. Worked rotating shifts
and holidays.
Stephenson’s Lumber Company – Indian Lake, NY 2004-2006
Provided counter sales to walk-in customers, processed and picked orders, drove boom trucks for customer delivery and maintained
accurate inventory statistics.
Mirant Corporation: Lovett Station – Tompkins Cove, NY 2000-2004
Monitor and maintain the line up and/or isolation of equipment such as boiler feed and condensate pumps, primary air and IDFD fans,
pulverizers, circulating water pumps, and condenser boxes. Monitor all wastewater treatment plant equipment according to
specifications and line up boilers for hydrostatic pressure tests. Engage pulverizers into and out of service and maintain megawatts as
system operator requirements dictated. Possess a full knowledge of ESP (electrostatic precipitators) for fly ash removal.

Operated large air injectors (hoggers) during emergency situations when vacuum pressure became too low on the turbines.
This re-established correct levels, prevented the unit from tripping, and subsequently ensured that the station did not go
offline.
Created a more automated racking system on the 2400-volt breakers which dramatically lowered the arc flash potential.
Participated in the seasonal maintenance cycle where boilers/turbines were inspected and cleaned on site and pumps/motors
were sent out for service. If necessary, provided coal yard assistance unloading shipments from trains or bulk carriers.
LJ Kennedy Trucking – Stony Point, NY 1995-2000
As dispatch supervisor, set up and dispatched 65 drivers per day, entered log sheets for customer billing and payroll, and reconciled
resulting paperwork (fuel, tolls, etc.) Accepted full management responsibility for mechanical problems, employee attendance,
customer service issues, and product damage. Successfully maintained a team of 10 mechanics and 8 tarpers while ensuring that all
loads were covered and delivered on schedule.
Servodone Construction: Chester NY site – Castelton, NY 1994-1995
Operated 10-wheel dump trucks for a landfill cover project in New Hampton, NY. Operated paving trucks, as needed.
Chessher Carting – Montgomery, NY 1992-1994
Delivered product inventory for Service Merchandise franchise stores in 5 states. Drove 24-53 foot tractor-trailer rigs and accurately
maintained all delivery logs and paperwork.
