2. INTRODUCTION
 With degrees from the University of Liverpool,
Harvard Business School, and the University of
Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business, Darin
Pastor went on to build a successful career in finance
and management. Today, Darin Pastor serves as
CEO of Capstone Financial Group with its
headquarters in East Amherst, New York.
Capstone Financial Group is a venture capital holding
firm that invests in other companies’ equity securities.
Capstone jumped into the financial market with
impressive early successes, including being named
37th on Orange County Business Journal’s list of the
largest public companies.

3. CAPSTONE FINANCIAL GROUP
 Before 2013, the company was a private wealth management firm
named Capstone Affluent Strategies. After going public through a
reverse merger with a company called Creative App, the firm
changed its name to Capstone Financial Group.
Having invested approximately $3 million in acquiring three
wealth management firms in 2014, Capstone is able to generate
around $6 million annually in revenue through these three firms.
That same year, the company’s shares were valued at $4, which
implies a market capitalization of $367 million. This is impressive
for a new company when compared to the more established
investment bank Ladenburg Thalmann Financial Services, which
was founded in 1876 and is valued at around $459.5 million.
