THE 12TH ANNUAL HOPEWORKS DINNER WILL HONOR MAYOR DANA REDD
AND FEATURE FOX 29 WEATHER ANCHOR KATHY ORR AS THE EMCEE ON
THURSDAY, OCTOBER 20 FROM 5:30 P.M. - 9:00 P.M.
What: Close to 300 people will gather at Adventure Aquarium on Thursday, October 20, 2016
for Hopeworks ‘N Camden’s 12th Annual Dinner. This year, Hopeworks will honor Camden
Mayor Dana Redd at the sold-out event for her commitment to Camden Rising, helping the
youth of the city rise with it, and bringing major businesses, grants, and initiatives to the City of
Camden.
The Annual Dinner will feature Kathy Orr, weather anchor at FOX 29, as the emcee for the
evening. Programming for the evening will include a silent auction, networking, and a text-to-
give campaign. During the program, five Hopeworks’ youth will each be awarded with $1,000
scholarship to be put towards their education. One scholarship recipient will be selected to talk
about the journey that led them to Hopeworks and how it has impacted their lives.

About: Hopeworks ‘N Camden uses education, technology, and entrepreneurship to partner
with young men and women as they identify and earn a sustainable future. Together, they seize
the opportunity to heal and thrive in the midst of violence and poverty.
Hopeworks’ youth are trained in state-of-the-art computer applications: geographic
information services (GIS), Salesforce administration, and website development, as well as
other necessary industry skills to land future employment.
2. Since 2000, Hopeworks has had over 3,000 youth trainees who have gone on to earn GEDs,
