leech head inside of their mouth that can attach to a victim and suck out their life energy;
for every leech head cut off, three more will take its place; can charge their bodies with
Soros’s energies; very hard to kill; able to regenerate cells and re-grow body parts; must
be hacked down faster than they can regenerate; energy attacks are useless
History
Fifty-two Earth years ago on June 22nd
, 1956, the oldest race in the universe, called
the Terrakai, created a special virus named Soros. His purpose was to consume and
recycle dead matter. The Terrakai gave him intelligence and great power. He was neither
living nor dead, but a new conscious energy beyond the understanding of any being.
Unfortunately Soros’s consumption of matter went out of hand and he began to spread
disease and despair across the Terrakai’s home world Scystice. When he started to
consume living matter, the Terrakai attempted to destroy their creation after only two
years, but Soros escaped into the vast reaches of space, vowing the destruction of the
Terrakai one day.
For the next seventeen Earth years Soros consumed dead and living matter. He
brought death and disease to every world he visited. The power hungry being decimated
several species and sucked the light out of hundreds of stars. Soon various sentient beings
across the universe began to resist his wrath. After the seventeen years were up, the first
true organization against Soros was formed, the Cosmic Medic. Just as Soros was a virus
that infected the universe, the Cosmic Medic was an organization that would heal it.
Their soul dedication was to purge the universe of Soros. This organization was founded
and led by a powerful Crellian named Serine, with secret help from the Terrakai. It held a
variety of species organized into teams of three to five to represent their home planet. In a
sense, the Cosmic Medic would be used by the Terrakai to cover up their mistake.
Serine was able to unify extraterrestrial species across the universe with the help of
the Terrakai’s wrist projector invention, which could project wormholes for long distance
travel and communicate with others from beyond the stars. Soros eventually set his sights
on the primitive planet Earth, one of the few worlds in the universe that had not been
touched by his power. Serine could not let such an innocent planet fall before him, so she
set out to find a team of humans who could represent their planet. The humans were a
lesser species than most sentient ones, but had great potential within their hearts and
minds. Due to the average human’s expected reaction of alien activity, Serine decided to
keep the Medic and Soros a secret to the public upon her arrival.
Finding the first Team Earth was no easy feat, for the Medic’s suits of power would
bond with the DNA of very few human beings. Serine searched for a young team that
was still growing, for the youth would be able to accept the Cosmic Medic far better than
the old. Eventually she found five teenagers attending Lake View High School in
Chicago: Cyrus Everheart, Miranda Hilms, Jacob Zukowski, Amie Lee, and Dameon
Ranaldi. The suits accepted their DNA, and all five secretly became members of the
Cosmic Medic.
For the next three years of their high school careers they fought in the war against
Soros as he attacked the home planets of various Medic teams. Soros created an army of
alien creatures to aid him in the war, and hired an army of bounty hunters to lead his
forces against the Medic, the three primaries being named Eticus, Xyla, and Maladria. All
mercenaries pledged their eternal loyalty to him, and fought against numerous Medic
agents. The Medic’s numbers began to drop rapidly, so they designed twelve hundred
android assassin units to assist them in the war, but by now Soros was ready to extract his
revenge on Scystice.
The first planet to attack him was the first one to fall. On June 8th
, 1977, Soros and
his armies invaded Scystice and stole two varanium crystals from the planet’s primary
research base, which could absorb all of the energy from a sun star until it was dead. The
Cosmic Medic and the Terrakai fought with valor, but with no avail. Soros used one of
the varanium crystals to kill Scystice’s sun. He then released the energy into a supernova
blast that obliterated Scystice, sending the oldest race in the known cosmos into
extinction.
During the battle Soros also gained two new allies. The android assassin AA 690
betrayed the Cosmic Medic and joined Soros. This forced the Medic to shut down the
android assassin line, out of fear that they all might rebel. This drastically reduced their
numbers once again. The remaining android assassin was given enhanced power by
Soros, thereby becoming a match for any agent of the Cosmic Medic. One of the Medic
agents also betrayed his own team. His name was Rinjin, a Solarian from the planet
Jyrus. He attacked his team and left them for dead. The Medic rescued team Jyrus, but
Rinjin was now sided with Soros.
With one varanium crystal left in his hands, and the only one in existence, Soros
decided to use it on Earth. He and the Cosmic Medic spent around a year of cease-fire to
round up and rebuild their forces. During the cease-fire period, Serine developed a way to
imprison Soros in a pocket dimension known as The Crevice. She and the rest of the
Cosmic Medic reprogrammed their wrist projectors to open portals for long-distance and
inter-dimensional travel from the celestial universe into The Crevice. On July 22nd,
1978, Soros launched his attack on Earth. Every agent of the Cosmic Medic responded to
the invasion, and on the slopes of the Himalayas, they fought.
Victory was near, but the power of Soros could not be vanquished, merely
contained. In the last few moments of the battle, Team Earth removed the varanium
crystal from Soros’s clutches before he could kill the sun and wipe out the Earth. They
reversed the process and ejected the solar energy back into the sun in a controlled jet of
light. Team Earth then combined their energies and banished Soros into The Crevice with
their wrist projectors. This brought an end to the war, and the Cosmic Medic broke up.
The last varanium crystal in existence was locked away in Simmeral, the Medic’s capitol
city base on the mountain planet Al Kash. Soros’s remaining forces were stranded on the
Earth, and scattered into the depths of the ocean trenches and the dense jungles of the
Amazon. His five primary lieutenants (Eticus, Xyla, AA 690, Maladria, and Rinjin) were
also stranded on Earth, and went undercover as humans via I.D. belts. Some of the Medic
agents went undercover on Earth to keep Soros’s remaining creatures in check.
Cyrus and Miranda married and had a daughter named Kaleen and a son named Eli.
Jacob married Rachel Kahn and had two sons named Avery and Thomas. Amie married
Han Long Wei and had a daughter named Jade. Dameon married and then divorced, but
kept his son Rick. All five of them had worn their battle suits for three years. After
wearing them for so long, their bodies adapted to the nature of their suits, and they
inherited their powers, apparently a side effect that only applied to human beings.
Over the years, Soros developed in power while locked away in The Crevice. He
later started to communicate with his lieutenants through telepathy, though he had no way
to interact with the celestial universe. All he could do was wait for the next generation of
Team Earth to come by so he could gain access to a wrist projector.
AA 690, Maladria, and Rinjin went undercover at Lake View High as Coach Robby
Guilds, Ms. Lily Ordu, and Mr. Krames, assassinating the originals to take their place.
The three waited patiently for the next generation of Team Earth to fall into their grasp.
Eticus and Xyla watched over the first generation, and by the age of four, Eli met Eticus
in the guise of a four year old named Allan Piper via an I.D. belt. By the age of five,
Kaleen met Xyla in the guise of a five year old named Rebecca Millard via an I.D. belt.
Eli and Kaleen became best friends with Allan and Rebecca, never suspecting their true
natures.
The two aliens pulled off the ultimate twelve-year bluff to keep watch over both Eli
and Kaleen until they received their wrist projectors, combining prayers with extra I.D
belts to act as their family. In eighth grade, Xyla became Rick’s girl friend when he was
still in seventh grade. Eli, Kaleen, and Rick never met Avery and Jade until they were in
High School at Lake View High. Eli, Rick, and Jade are now sophomores while Kaleen
and Avery are juniors. All five are within the grasp of Soros’s lieutenants, and all five are
about to become the next generation of Team Earth. Soros has greatly developed in
power, and his creatures are mobilizing. All he needs is to escape from The Crevice. It’s
been thirty years; the date is September 3rd
, 2008, and it’s the first day of school at Lake
View High in Chicago, Illinois.
Escape Story Arc
It’s the first day of the new school year at Lake View High, and Kaleen and
Rebecca are really excited about going back. Eli, Rick, and Allan still wish it were
summer. Meanwhile Avery is showing his freshman brother Thomas around campus, and
Jade is busy reading a gothic horror novel while sitting alone in her new homeroom. The
students meet their new teachers as the school day goes by.
In another part of town, Cyrus, Miranda, Jacob, Amie, and Dameon meet up with
Serine and her accomplice Giringon, a Worvon from the planet Polaris. They meet in a
small coffee shop to discuss the current situation with Soros’s creatures scattered across
the planet. Serine and Giringon have been undercover as humans for thirty years to help
keep his forces in check, along with several other Medic agents. Serine reports that his
creatures are coming out of hiding more often now, and killing more people. She and
Giringon both agree that it’s time to give their children the wrist projectors and the title as
the new Team Earth.
On the way back from the meeting, Cyrus and Miranda are both attacked by a
group of prayers. Using the superhuman abilities that they inherited from their suits
during the war, they are easily able to defeat the creatures. Both agree that they need a
new Team Earth as soon as possible. So Eli, Kaleen, Avery, Jade, and Rick are all given
their parents’ suits of power, weapons, wrist projectors, and jetcycles to combat against
Soros’s creatures. They are updated on the history and current situation that the planet is
facing. As a precaution, all remaining agents on Earth forbid them to reveal the Medic’s
existence to anyone, but Eticus and Xyla discover in secret, and regroup with AA 690,
Maladria, and Rinjin after school hours.
They communicate with Soros via his inter-dimensional power of telepathy. Soros
decides that this is the perfect opportunity to obtain a wrist projector. He sends his
lieutenants on a mission to steal one from Team Earth so that he may escape from The
Crevice, but orders them not to blow their cover. Eticus and Xyla attack Eli and Kaleen in
an attempt to steal a wrist projector, but Rick comes to their rescue and foils their
attempt. Just when they think they have won, AA690 swoops down and snatches Rick’s
wrist projector.
Although Soros’s lieutenants succeed in stealing a wrist projector, Eli manages to
hold off Soros’s passage through the portal long enough for Team Earth to seal it back up
and retrieve the device. Team Soros decides to remain undercover as friends and teachers
in order to get closer to Team Earth. They are never suspected of loyalty to Soros, not by
Team Earth nor what remains of the Cosmic Medic.
For the next few months, Team Earth keeps Soros’s alien creatures in check across
the globe while being watched over by the Glanba, a group of aliens made of gelatin with
the powers of shape shifting and liquid formation. They are one of the few remaining
Medic teams on Earth, and consist of Areim, Exorl, Nike, Ira, and Quint. Team Soros
tries several attempts to steal a wrist projector from Team Earth. AA 690, Maladria, and
Rinjin keep a close eye on them at school in disguise, while Eticus and Xyla watch them
from the outside.
After so many failed attempts, both in alien and human form, Team Soros is able to
capture Kaleen, but she opens a portal and sends her wrist projector to her brother Eli to
keep it out of their clutches. Team Soros threatens to kill Kaleen unless Team Earth
hands it over. When the Glanba figure out their true identities, Team Soros decides to
reveal themselves to Team Earth. The two sides plan to meet on top of the Sears tower to
exchange a wrist projector for Kaleen. Team Earth doesn’t actually plan on handing it
over. Avery devises a plan to escape with Kaleen and the wrist projector. The group
arrives at the Sears tower, but when they try to save Kaleen, Team Soros intercepts them.
After thirty years in the shadows, they finally come out of hiding, and reveal their false
identities to Team Earth. Eli, Kaleen, and Rick are all shocked and heartbroken that their
best friends are their worst enemies.
With no other option, Team Earth engages their former friends and teachers battle,
but with reality now pounding down on them, they are easily defeated. The wrist
projector falls into Team Soros’s hands, and a portal into The Crevice is opened. On
December 15th
, 2008 Soros finally escaped into the celestial universe with his forces.
Team Earth was left heartbroken, and the people that they thought they could have
trusted with their lives were no more.
New War Story Arc
After Soros escapes from The Crevice, Team Earth goes on winter break. Eli,
Kaleen, and Rick are devastated at the loss of their former friends, and realize just how
cunning and evil they were. Cyrus, Miranda, and Dameon wonder how they could have
missed so many obvious signs over the past twelve years. They meet up with Jacob,
Amie, Serine, Giringon, and the Glanba to discuss the next course of action now that
Soros has escaped. The former Team Earth decides that this is not their war anymore, and
that they must leave things up to the new generation.
Serine decides to open several wormholes and dismiss all foreign agents from Earth
and back to their home worlds to await further orders, but not before giving the Glanba
their own wrist projectors. As Serine ponders whether or not to declare cosmic war, Soros
opens a wormhole to Chicago and pays her a visit. The two of them engage in a duel and
exchange blows, Soros with his scythe and Serine with her trident. Soros asks Serine why
she hesitates to declare war against him, stating that she is only denying destiny, and that
if she doesn’t, the Cosmic Medic will die much sooner. Soros leaves Earth and tells
Serine to make his presence known throughout the universe once more.
After Soros’s attack, Serine leaves Earth and travels to Simmeral, the old
abandoned war base on Al Kash. She meets the four members of the Crellian council,
who have lived there for the past thirty years since the end of the war. After they
reinforce Simmeral, Serine sends a calling to every old member of the Cosmic Medic
throughout the universe to meet up at the base. For the first time in over thirty years, the
Cosmic Medic is reformed. New characters are introduced, including the Bristols from
Tigeria, the Solarians from Jyrus (Rinjin’s old team), the Amphimars from Aria, and the
Fleximists from Parlena. Serine announces that Soros has finally escaped from The
Crevice and that he demands war against the Cosmic Medic. After a long and emotional
debate, the Cosmic Medic declares war against Soros, though many agents are not
comfortable with the new Team Earth. On January 14, 2009, the war against Soros began
anew.
The Cosmic Medic spends the next few months protecting each other’s home
planets from Soros’s wrath. Serine creates new equipment for the Medic, such as new
fighter pods called streakers and special wrist projectors that allow one to share their
suit’s powers with another using a special syncing chip. Soros responds to their new
technologies by creating three new creatures, the sky vipers, the hydra leeches, and the
tentaculi. He also reverse engineers the wrist projector that he stole, and creates six new
copies for himself and his team.
Soros invades and feeds off of planets such as Equitoris, Jyrus, Tigeria, Cyclis,
Polaris, and Necrodine in order to replenish his power after being locked in The Crevice
for thirty years. He also launches an attack on the Cosmic Medic’s laboratory base
Marinum on the oceanic planet Aria, and on their manufacturing space station
Arrowspore orbiting the gas giant Rectamede. During the war, Eli and Jade’s relationship
begins to blossom, as does Avery and Kaleen’s. Rick decides to hold off on dating until
he goes to college.
The group fights in several battles on different planets over the next few months to
help out their fellow Medic agents. On Earth, authorities from Chicago investigate the
disappearances of Allan, Rebecca, Coach Guilds, Mr. Krames, and Ms. Ordu. Team
Earth becomes their best lead in the case due to Eli, Kaleen, and Rick’s friendship with
Allan and Rebecca. The group is watched by the Chicago Police Department on a daily
basis, making it difficult to go to battle.
While off the planet, Team Earth faces off against their former friends and teachers
on multiple occasions. As the war drags on, Soros and his team begin hunting down and
exterminating certain agents that contribute most to the Cosmic Medic. Team Jyrus also
comes face to face with their old teammate Rinjin after over thirty years, and are able to
face him in battle. Though they are unable to kill him, they escape the attack unharmed.
The war continues for several months until Medic agents across the universe are all
distracted with protecting their home worlds from Soros’s armies. By June, the Cosmic
Medic is divided, and Soros has mustered a small army to invade Simmeral. Serine sends
out a distress call to various agents across the Cosmos, but the only ones to respond are
Searium from Parlena, Giringon from Polaris, Markil from Tigeria, Thorn from Equitoris,
Rigel and Aliena from Jyrus, and Areim and Exorl from Cyclis. The Crellian council is
also present, giving them a total of thirteen agents to protect Simmeral from Soros. Back
on Earth, Team Earth is busy with final exams for the year, and they miss Serine’s call.
The battle of Simmeral drags on for hours. Serine is able to break free of the fight
and contact Team Earth just as they finish their final exams. She begs Team Earth to
assist them at Simmeral, and they respond to her pleas. By the time they arrive, Soros has
already penetrated much of Simmeral’s interior. His forces finally make it to the central
core of Simmeral’s power system, the last varanium crystal. Team Earth blockades his
alien creatures and fights off many of them before coming face to face with Soros.
The group combines their energies to subdue the virus but he repels every attack
before pinning Team Earth against the fortress walls via energy tentacles. Before he can
kill them however, Serine, Rigel, Aliena, Markil, and Areim come to the rescue. Tired
and outnumbered Soros flees from Simmeral with the varanium crystal, deactivating its
systems and rendering it no more than a bomb shelter. The battle led to the deaths of
Giringon, Exorl, and Thorn.
The Medic meets in Marinum on June 18th
, 2009 to debate on their next course of
action. They discuss when and where Soros will use the varanium crystal, and Serine
concludes that he plans to attack Earth once more like he did so many years ago. She
warns Team Earth to prepare for the storm that will come in the next few months after
Soros rallies his forces once more.
Invasion Story Arc
The story flashes forward to late August of 2009; Soros has been extremely quiet
lately. Team Earth and the rest of the Cosmic Medic are finally given a vacation, and
each planet in the Medic is given a short time of peace. Eli and Kaleen are able to build
their relationships with Jade and Avery, and the four very quickly become two couples.
Rick begins to feel left out of the love circle and begins searching for a new girlfriend,
despite the promise he made to himself about waiting until college
By the end of August, while the Cosmic Medic is enjoying its leisure time, Soros
falls back into action. He is able to invade Arrowpore and hijack three carrier ships big
enough to hold thirty thousand of his creatures. He infects them all and transforms each
one into an all powerful war ship. Serine and the rest of the Cosmic Medic are
immediately notified of the situation. They gather at Marinum, their new base of
operations, to discuss the situation. The Medic realizes that Soros could be mounting an
invasion of Earth any day now.
Back home, Team Earth has started their new school year, which means Eli, Jade,
and Rick are now juniors, while Kaleen and Avery are now seniors. The Chicago Police
Department is still investigating the whereabouts of their so-called friends and teachers,
and they are still keeping a very close watch on the group and the school. They gather
any information that they can, partly out of duty, but mostly out of curiosity. The year
goes on very slowly for Team Earth since they aren’t called on missions.
While Team Earth focuses on their schoolwork and social life, Soros sends a signal
Crellian council member Karp, who has been acting as a sleeper agent for over thirty
years now. The two of them make a secret deal that will ensure control of the Cosmic
Medic to Karp after the planned attack on Earth. Karp spends the next few months
waiting in the shadows for that day to come. No one suspects him whatsoever.
Karp also gives Soros a valuable piece of information, the whereabouts of the last
known Terrakai, Rexis Ravala. After discovering that he dwells on the jungle planet
Equitoris, Soros sends his five lieutenants to capture him. Rexis is able to put up a good
fight when they arrive using the various visionary powers of his species, but he is
eventually beaten and thrown into The Crevice, where he comes face to face with Soros.
He is however able to send his own distress call to Serine via his own broken down wrist
projector. Soros binds him with energy tentacles and begins to interrogate him. He shows
Rexis a data projector that he stole from Scystice just before its destruction. The data
projector holds detailed information on Amara Alore, the core star.
Serine receives Rexis’s distress call and sends a notification to Team Earth. For the
first time in months they are finally given a mission. They meet Serine at Marinum and
she updates them on the situation with Rexis. As the last of the Terrakai, he may hold
secrets of the universe that no other being should know about. She sends Team Earth to
Equitoris to rescue Rexis from Soros. Upon arriving, Team Earth begins searching
throughout the jungles to find Rexis, without any idea of what he looks like.
Unbeknownst to them, they are being watched by Eticus, Xyla, AA690, Maladria, and
Rinjin
Team Soros begins to stalk Team Earth from the treetops, but Jade notices their
presence and signals for a surprise attack. They catch Team Soros off guard, and after a
short fight, defeat them with ease. Through an interrogation, Eli forces Eticus to tell him
the whereabouts of Rexis. Team Soros departs from Equitoris severely weakened, while
Team Earth heads into The Crevice.
Upon entering, they decide to split up into three groups in order to cover more
ground. Soros discovers their presence and dispatches a squadron of sky vipers to hunt
them down while he tortures Rexis for information on the core star. Eli and Jade lose
their sky viper using Jade’s power of invisibility, Kaleen and Avery shoot theirs down,
and Rick sends his through a wormhole leading to the interior of a star. By now Soros has
bought plenty of time, but Rexis still refuses to give into his suffering. Soros moves to
plan B, and copies the information from Rexis’s mind telepathically. Soros also damages
his mind with a powerful mental strike, knocking him out.
After extracting the information on the core star from Rexis’s mind, Soros prepares
to kill him, but Avery and Kaleen arrive in time to stop him. Knowing that he can’t risk
the information falling into their hands, Soros calls forth two tentaculi to battle them
while he makes his move to kill the unconscious Rexis, but Kaleen blocks him off. While
Avery battles the tentaculi, Kaleen protects Rexis from Soros. The other members of
Team Earth arrive, and all five beat defeat Soros and escape to Marinum with Rexis.
After dropping him off, Team Earth heads back to Chicago, while the Medic tries to
wake Rexis up. Meanwhile, Soros realizes that the old legends aren’t legends anymore,
and that the universe truly does have an energy core. He has read all of the information
that he needs from Rexis’s mind, and he now knows the function and secrets behind the
existence of Amara Alore. He is also aware that the Cosmic Medic will soon discover its
existence as well if they succeed in healing Rexis. To distract their efforts, Soros moves
the planned invasion of Earth from next month to next week, on November 8th
, 2009,
which is also homecoming night for Lake View High.
The next day at school is filled with drama and excitement as people rush around
campus looking for a date to bring to homecoming. Rick doesn’t even try to get a date,
because he is asked out by about a dozen girls. He turns every single one of them down,
as he is still somewhat depressed about Rebecca. Kaleen finally tells him that it’s time to
move on and find another girl. After much deliberation, Rick decides to start dating
again. He gets a date with Allegra Mildu, one of the girls who asked him out, though he’s
not very comfortable with her around due to her awkward nature.
Meanwhile, Soros sets a course for Earth with his three stolen war ships, carrying
his five lieutenants and an army of thirty thousand alien creatures. He passes just a little
too close to Aria, and the Medic picks up his trail using the tracking satellites orbiting the
planet. Serine responds to this by awakening the deactivated android assassin army that
had been dormant for over thirty-one years. She plans to use them in unison with the rest
of the Cosmic Medic to protect Earth.
With the discovery of the reactivated android assassin line, the Cosmic Medic falls
into a debate over whether or not they should use the androids, as many of them fear they
might rebel. Serine states their options: if they fight Soros with their current numbers,
they will all die; if they fight Soros with the android assassin line, they’ll have a chance
in numbers, and they can at least gamble on the thought that the androids won’t rebel.
The Cosmic Medic goes through with her plan, though many think that they’re just
delaying their deaths.
During the debate, Karp breaks away and contact Soros to warn him about the
impending threat of the android assassin line. Soros is very impressed with the fact that
Serine managed to create an army in such a short amount of time. He tells Karp to stick
with the plan and remain undercover until the battle.
News of an approaching invasion reaches Team Earth first generation, and Cyrus,
Miranda, Jacob, Amie, and Dameon all gather for a meeting to decide what course of
action to take. In the end it is decided that this is their planet, and they have to do
whatever they can to help their children protect it.
As the homecoming football game begins for Lake View, Rick and Allegra begin to
“bond” in an awkward sort of way. Allegra is beautiful, but she is also downright weird.
Jade and Eli have their own fun watching the game, while Avery and Kaleen spend their
time at the food stand (it’s mostly just Avery stuffing himself). This is one of those fun
times when the group gets to act like normal teenagers and just enjoy life. Unfortunately
their fun is cut short three quarters into the game; however Rick is more than happy to get
away from Allegra. Serine contacts the group and warns them about Soros’s approach.
When they find out that the invasion is on the homecoming dance, their dates with each
other turn into battle missions. Both the Cosmic Medic and Soros spend the night
reinforcing their gear.
As school starts the next day, Team Earth counts down the moments to the start of
homecoming and Soros’s invasion. As a member of the homecoming committee, Kaleen
spends the second half of the day in the gymnasium setting up for the dance. The rest of
Team Earth wonders why she bothers, since it will be cut short when the invasion arrives.
Kaleen still hopes that they can have a dance after the invasion. Just as the school day
ends, Soros sends a small legion of prayers and sky vipers down to Chicago to attack
Lake View at night and kill Team Earth.
As the dance begins, Team Earth arrives and waits for a summons from Serine.
They dance for a good forty minutes before Soros’s creatures attack Lake View. Students
and faculty scatter while Team Earth holds the prayers and sky vipers off. Everyone is in
awe as the five teenagers grapple with the beasts. The police arrive to subdue Soros’s
creatures, but they are of no help. The only match against them is the power of Team
Earth. In only a short time however, the Cosmic Medic arrives above the Earth in three
carrier ships, and Serine opens a wormhole right above Team Earth’s head.
Team Earth is sucked into her carrier ship, and without them, Chicago falls to
Soros’s creatures. All its citizens are placed under lockdown. At that moment, Soros
arrives just in front of the Cosmic Medic’s fleet in the upper atmosphere, and he is more
than ready for battle. Soros unleashes a swarm of infected streakers, which he calls rays,
to attack the Medic fleet. The rays are piloted by prayers. Serine responds by unleashing
the android assassin line to combat the rays in an aerial battle. AA690 looks down at his
former brothers before leaping out of his carrier into the battle to put a dent in the android
assassin population.
The rest of the Cosmic Medic flies into the battle on their streakers and jetcycles,
blasting as many rays out of the skies as they can. Avery and Rick lead an army of
androids down to Chicago to liberate the city, while Eli, Kaleen, Jade, and Medic agents
Reevis, Valkin, and Korell infiltrate an infected carrier to steal back the varanium crystal
from Soros. Meanwhile, Karp breaks away from the action and heads back to his carrier
to fulfill his mission, the capture of Serine.
AA 690 soars through the skies, slicing through every android that he comes across.
The Medic agents continue to battle against Soros’s prayer pilots using their streakers and
jetcycles. A small swarm of stingers and an army of sky vipers fly in to reinforce the
prayers. Several androids and Medic agents move forward to attack Soros’s warships in
response. Eli, Kaleen, Jade, and the other agents soon realize that they may not be
airborne for long. They move forward to locate Soros, but they run into a group of hydra
leeches along the way.
Karp continues to make his way through the carrier ship when he meets up with
Eticus, Xyla, Maladria, and Rinjin, who have all with ease. The five arrive at the control
bridge, where they meet Serine. She and Karp stare at each other eye to eye for a few
moments until Soros telepathically removes the mental shield he placed on Karp over
thirty-four years ago. Serine is then able to read his mind, and in just a few seconds, she
evaluates the situation without uttering a single word. All five assassins engage Serine in
a ferocious battle, although she proves to be quite powerful. Even though she is
outnumbered five to one, she holds her own. In just a few moments, she disables
Maladria and Eticus.
Down below Rick and Avery lead the androids against Soros’s army in Chicago.
When the armies resist their counter attack, an unexpected turn of events occurs, and
Cyrus, Miranda, Jacob, Amie, and Dameon arrive to fight off the creatures. Their arrival
is a major turn in the battle, and the creatures retreat back into the skies. Allegra runs up
and kisses Rick on the lips. Rick stands still for an awkward moment and contemplates
what just happened, then Avery drags him back onto his jetcycle and the two fly back up
along with Team Earth first generation to rejoin the battle.
Eli, Kaleen, and Jade are still fighting on board the warship against the hydra
leeches, while Reevis, Valkin, and Korell are handling a trio of tentaculi. Outside of the
ship, dozens of androids and Medic agents fire at the armor and engines. The ship begins
to lose altitude. Eli continues to move forward through the ship to locate Soros while
Kaleen, Jade, and the other agents hold off the remaining creatures.
Back outside, AA 690 is still battling against the Medic’s forces when he spots
Avery, Rick and Team Earth first generation on their jetcycles. AA 690 dives, preparing
to attack from above. Rick and his parents fly away and into the battle as Avery fires an
arrow from his bow. AA 690 dodges it, and begins to fire down on Team Earth first
generation, but they scatter throughout the sky and fly off in their own separate ways. AA
690 goes after Avery. After several dodges, Avery loads his bow and channels his suit’s
telekinetic power into the arrow to give it an extra push. He fires the arrow at AA 690,
who blocks it with an energy shield, although he cannot cancel out the telekinetic force.
AA 690 is sent flying backward into a swarm of other androids. He is carried off
and pinned against the side of a carrier by his former brothers. The commanding android
AA360 hovers before him. He speaks in an almighty tone “You’re the one who caused
the Medic to seal us away, while you got away free. Did you think we wouldn’t take it
personally? ” The commander pins AA 690’s torso to a carrier while his brothers severe
his arms and legs. When all that is left is the head and chest, the commander decapitates
him. His arms, legs, and chest are thrown out of the sky, and all that remains is his talking
head. AA 690 looks at the commander with a blank expression on his face. After several
seconds, the commander chucks his head into the air and blasts it to bits.
Inside the Medic’s carrier, Serine is taking on Karp, Xyla, and Rinjin all at the same
time. As she gradually tires out Serine makes an attempt to escape, but Karp blocks her
off in order to keep their battle private. Serine blocks off several energized attacks from
Rinjin and Xyla, and uses her visual psychic power to send Xyla to sleep. She also binds
Rinjin with an energy rope. Karp lunges at Serine and the two of them exchange blows.
The battle comes to a standstill when both of them wind up in a beam lock. The two push
their energies to their limits to see which beam will gain the upper hand.
As the battle outside rages on, the sun begins to rise. Inside of the warship, Eli
makes it to the command bridge and meets Soros face to face. Soros unveils the varanium
crystal, and the two begin to battle for it. While they duel each other, the light from the
rising sun gradually grants the crystal power. Soros decides to take the battle to the upper
deck to feed the crystal. Eli follows him, and the two soon find themselves in a crossfire.
Medic streakers and android assassins fire at the warship in order to knock it out of the
sky. The ship begins to tilt and the two of them are soon fighting on a slope. The crystal
absorbs more and more power from the sun.
Soros knocks Eli down, and he tumbles to the bottom of the ship just above the
engines. Soros announces out loud that the battle and the Earth have come to an end. The
sun turns from yellow to red, and then from red to brown. As the crystal becomes fully
charged, Soros throws it overboard, and sends it plummeting to the Earth below to
unleash a supernova on impact. Avery dives down after it on his jetcycle. The crystal
begins to gain speed as it falls, but Avery uses his wrist projector to create a wormhole.
He flies through the wormhole and appears just below the crystal, catching it as it falls
toward him. He then focuses some of the crystal’s solar power into a concentrated beam
that obliterates the warship’s engines. Kaleen, Jade, Valkin, and Korell manage to make
it to the top of the ship and meet up with Eli just as the ship begins to fall.
The five of them fly off on their jetcycles, and Avery returns the absorbed energy to
the sun in a concentrated blast, just as their parents did so many years ago. Soros leaps
off of the broken ship and soars off to his second carrier. He says to himself that the
battle wasn’t a total loss. As he contemplates this thought, Serine finally gives in to
Karp’s power, and her energy beam is sent soaring right back to her. The beam strikes her
square in the chest, knocking her out cold. Karp then communicates with Soros
telepathically, stating that Serine has been captured.
With that note, Soros pulls back all his forces. The last two warships, the rays, his
creatures, and his four remaining lieutenants are all sucked into a wormhole along with
Serine’s unconscious body, bringing the invasion to an end, although the capture of
Serine leaves little reason for the Medic to celebrate. Notable casualties include Reevis
and Meroin. Team Earth meets up with their parents later on, who congratulate them on
what a great job they did in saving the planet.
Later the next night, the school resumes the homecoming dance, and everyone
shakes loose after the intense battle that just took place. Jade and Eli make out under a
tree, and Kaleen and Avery find a nice quiet spot to hangout by the school pool. Rick
decides that as long as he is living, he might as well live life to the fullest and dance with
a girl, so he finally lets go of the past and shakes it up on the dance floor with the other
girls. Everyone sees him and the rest of Team Earth as heroes, and he is now more
popular than ever. Outside of the dance, Eli and Jade don’t get a lot of alone time, and
neither do Avery and Kaleen. An inrushing crowd of adoring fans who want stories about
their adventures spoils their moments. Now, Team Earth realizes that things may never
be the same.
The New Order Story Arc
The invasion is over, and the Cosmic Medic is left in depression. Serine is missing
and the Medic is left without a leader. As the head of the Crellian council, Karp is the one
to take control of the organization. The whereabouts of Serine remain a mystery to the
Medic, and no one suspects Karp. The android assassin line begins to form a relation with
the Medic agents; some begin to trust them, while others are still weary. The varanium
crystal is returned to Simmeral, and the Medic is able to use it as their capital base once
more. Rexis Ravala is still unconscious from Soros’s mental assault. Karp decides to
keep him at Marinum where he says he’ll be safer, although there are fewer agents at
Marinum than there are at Simmeral.
Back home, the members of Team Earth are hailed as heroes, and everyone in the
United States is soon made aware of the existence of the Cosmic Medic. The decision is
made to broadcast the news out to the world, and Team Earth is to explain the whole
story and situation live on January 17th
, 2010. Eli, Kaleen, Avery, Jade, and Rick are all
given special treatment by their friends and teachers, but their parents demand that they
don’t give into any of it. Rick and Avery are thrilled to finally be rewarded for all of the
great deeds that they’ve accomplished, but the others start to worry about where all of
this glory may lead.
Soon the military begins to upgrade its defense force in order to prepare for
another possible invasion, and much of the country’s population is thrown into anarchy at
the very idea of an apocalypse. Kaleen and Eli wonder if letting the world know of the
Medic’s existence is the right thing to do. Avery and Rick try to enjoy the fame that
they’re given, but soon they to agree that this has gone too far. Eventually the entire
country is sucked into a state of fear and defense. When Team Earth is unsure of what to
do, they turn to their parents for guidance, who remind them that fame is never easy, and
that sometimes things like these need to remain in the dark for the greater good.
Team Earth first generation convenes together on top of a skyscraper to decide
what course of action to take against this national panic storm. After some debate, they
conclude that the secret function of the wrist projector was made for just such an
occasion on a planet like ours. So the parents decide to allow their children to discover
the secret of the wrist projector for themselves. As they return home, they all get a sense
of déjà vu that this issue has happened before.
Meanwhile, Soros and his forces arrive in The Crevice to recuperate from the
invasion. He discusses with his four remaining lieutenants what the next course of action
would be. His main concern is Rexis Ravala, who still possesses knowledge of Amara
Alore. He is one of the few beings in the universe who knows of its existence, and Soros
does not plan on letting the Cosmic Medic discover it as well. Also, the loss of AA 690 is
viewed as a tragic setback, and Soros demands that his troops work double time to make
up for it. Serine is kept in a containment field on board one of the warships. She wonders
why Soros doesn’t kill her and how Karp evaded detection for so long. She wonders a lot
of things.
Back at Marinum, Rexis is still unconscious, though he is plagued by terrible
visions and flashbacks of when he created Soros, when Soros rebelled, and when he
destroyed Scystice. These nightmarish visions eventually snap him awake; however he is
still very weak. As he regains mobility, Rexis slowly begins to walk through Marinum
and explore its interior. As he walks, he flashes back to the time when he contacted
Serine, and convinced her to form the Cosmic Medic over thirty-four years ago.
At the newly restored Simmeral, Karp is secretly communicating with Soros
through his wrist projector, and the two discuss the current situation. Karp reports that
stealing the varanium crystal again would be a suicide mission with all of the enhanced
protection it has been given. Soros informs him that the varanium crystal is not his main
objective, and that he only wants Rexis dead before the Cosmic Medic can interrogate
him. Karp volunteers to personally enter Marinum and kill Rexis, but Soros forbids him
from doing so, preferring him to remain undercover; he is however ordered to contact
Soros should Team Earth ever set foot in Simmeral.
Karp is overheard by Searium from Team Parlena, and she has the guts to face him
head on. Searium creeps into Karp’s chamber and launches a surprise attack at Karp. The
attack is a success and Karp is thrown to the ground. Searium attempts to capture Karp,
but Karp baits her with the idea that he killed Serine. This causes her to lose control and
forget about capturing him. She lunges at him like a wild rhinoceros, but Karp easily able
disables her with an energy blast. He creates a wormhole and damages her wrist projector
beyond projection capability. She is thrown into the wormhole and dumped on the ice
planet Polaris. Karp traps her there and leaves her to freeze, expecting her to die in just a
few days; he vastly underestimates her survival skills, and she holds on for several weeks.
Two weeks later, Team Earth arrives at Simmeral, and begins searching for
anything that might help them clear the knowledge of the Cosmic Medic on Earth before
the interview. They think that if intergalactic travel is easily achieved through wormhole
generation, then destruction of memory should be fairly easy to come across. Jade
discovers the schematics for the wrist projector inside of the Medic’s chief databank. She
downloads them onto her own wrist projector, but Karp is watching them alone from
Simmeral’s security monitors. He sends a telepathic notice to Soros of their arrival at
Simmeral, and Soros sends a group of five tentaculi to deal with them.
As Team Earth leaves Simmeral, they are ambushed by the tentaculi. They hack
through a thicket of fifty tentacles. Eli and Rick are able to evaporate two of them
through mass energy blasts. Jade, Kaleen, and Avery defeat the other three by sending
them through a wormhole and onto the surface of a sun star. Soros sends in three sky
vipers to finish the job. This puts Team Earth on the run, and they fly off on their
jetcycles, but the sky vipers follow. After a chase through the mountains, Team Earth
shoots two of the sky vipers down and loses the last one through a wormhole.
Team Earth’s incident during their last visit to Simmeral gives the Medic an uneasy
feeling about a double agent leaking information. A few of the Medic agents also begin to
notice Searium’s mysterious disappearance. Fortunately for Team Earth, the trip to
Simmeral wasn’t a total waste. After a week of reviewing the schematics and toiling with
their wrist projectors, they discover a secret frequency imbedded inside that has the
power to wipe out one’s memory. They test the frequency and find that it could be
broadcasted through television channels and radio stations. Team Earth devises a plan to
wipe out everyone’s’ memory of the Cosmic Medic during their interview, which is in
less than three days.
Meanwhile, Searium is constantly struggling to survive on Polaris. She is able to
find shelter in an ice cave and use her hunting skills to find food; however her biological
energies begin to run low, leaving little power for her suit to run on. She soon gives up on
surviving and focuses the rest of her energy on repairing her wrist projector so she can at
least warn the Medic about Karp. She succeeds in restoring a limited communications
feature on her wrist projector called cosmic plot code, in which she can give the planet
coordinates and the latitude and longitude. She sends these coordinates to her teammates
Havix and Indus, who finally figure out where she is.
The two of them work together to organize a search squad consisting of Team
Polaris and Team Earth. Karp secretly becomes aware of their motives, and immediately
contacts Soros. Realizing that Karp’s cover will soon be broken, Soros sends Eticus and
Xyla along with an army of phages and stingers in order to hunt Searium down and kill
her before she is rescued. Both sides arrive on Polaris at the same moment and begin
searching the coordinated area for her location. Searium is only five miles away from
them, and spots the blue halo of their wormhole as it closes in the distance. She makes
her way across a frozen bay area to the other side in hopes of meeting up with her
comrades.
It is at this moment that Soros decides to cover up his second secret. He reveals to
Serine the reason why she is still alive, saying that her talents would be too much of a
waste to dispose of. Soros possesses Serine’s mind and body to increase his own dark
powers with her psychic abilities. He travels in Serine’s body with Maladria and Rinjin to
Aria along with an army of tentaculi, hydra leeches, and urchins in order to assassinate
Rexis while he is still weak. They all arrive just outside of Marinum in diving suits, but
before the invasion, they must penetrate its energy shield to enter the base. The army
begins firing at the shield to bring it down.
The only team protecting Marinum is Team Aria. Nonetheless they mount the
base’s defense turrets and fire at the army from safely inside the shield, but it doesn’t
hold forever. Soros is able to break the shield with a telekinetic blow. Team Aria holds
their ground against the enemy for as long as possible but Soros is too strong when
imbedded in Serine’s body. They send a distress call to all Medic agents within range
before traveling deep into the confines of the base.
Back on Polaris, the search team comes in contact with a group of phages and they
realize that Soros is also searching for Searium. After dispatching the phages, they decide
to split up. Suddenly, each agent receives the distress call sent from Marinum. After some
deliberation, Avery, Kaleen, and Jade decide to head to Marinum while the others stay
behind to search for Searium. The three of them travel by wormhole and arrive inside of
the giant glass sphere surrounding the base.
Soros and his army penetrate Marinum by wormhole at the exact same time that
Team Earth arrives. They begin searching Marinum for Rexis. Team Earth runs into
Team Aria, and they are updated on the situation at hand. When they arrive inside of
Marinum’s infirmary, they realize that Rexis is gone; Soros discovers this as well. Both
sides are stunned at Rexis’s disappearance, but on the bright side the Medic finally
discovers where Serine is. Neither side hesitates to attack the other, and so the battle
begins.
Back on Polaris, Searium is barely clinging to life as she climbs up an enormous
glacier situated over the bay. After a deep breath, she releases the last of her useable
energy into an enormous beam of light, hoping that one of the Medic agents will spot it.
All three Medic teams notice the blast and head towards the glacier to rescue Searium.
Eticus also notices the blast, and heads toward the glacier to silence Searium. He reaches
Searium first and prepares to kill her; with no energy left, Searium is completely
defenseless.
Inside Marinum, the battle has moved into the central gathering chamber. Azra of
Team Aria activates over three-dozen android assassins locked in stasis and orders them
to search for Rexis Revala and protect him from the invasion forces by any means
necessary. She dismisses the androids and sends them soaring through Marinum. They
shoot down and slice through every alien creature they come across, becoming a major
turning point in the battle. Team Earth find themselves outmatched by Soros’s newfound
psychic powers and his forces push them to the brink of death, but just as he is about to
kill them, he is paralyzed.
Back on Polaris, Rick and Eli are almost at the glacier when they find themselves
under fire from Xyla and a swarm of stingers. Eli moves on ahead to the glacier while
Rick stays behind to lead Xyla and her swarm away. He draws her into a snowstorm,
where the swarm’s wings become frozen. The stingers are grounded due to wing icing,
and Rick loses Xyla in the hellish blizzard.
At the glacier, Eticus is just about to kill Searium when Eli swings in on his jetcycle
and blocks his attack. The two of them stand face to face with each other as Eli flashes
back to the happy times he had with Eticus as Allan Piper, before he knew the truth. After
a moment of silence, the two former friends engage in an epic duel atop of the glacier for
Searium’s life. Rick rendezvous with Team Polaris and Team Parlena on his way to the
glacier.
Back at Marinum, Soros is having a bipolar moment. Although he was able to make
use of Serine’s powers, he finds her mind too difficult to tame and she regains control.
Soros tries to contain her but she resumes power, and after a short mental battle he is
ejected out of her body. With her mind free once again, Serine, Team Earth, and Team
Aria engage Soros’s creatures on an even playing field, but the battle turns into a
standstill when Rexis sets foot into the chamber. Soros sets Rinjin, Maladria, and every
one of his creatures on Rexis, but they are quickly disabled with his various visionary
powers. Rexis fires his laser vision at Soros, who matches it with his own. Both almighty
beings engage in a visionary battle that is soon joined by Serine. Outmatched by Rexis’s
eyes and Serine’s psychic powers, Soros flees the planet along with what remains of his
army.
While the battle of Marinum is over, the one on Polaris rages on. Eli and Eticus are
still battling atop the glacier when Rick finally arrives along with Team Polaris and Team
Parlena. Searium’s is comforted by the fact that her own team went to all this trouble to
rescue her. The six able-bodied Medic agents combine their strengths and energies
against Eticus in order to bring him down. He holds on for as long as he can, but he is
overpowered and blasted off the edge of the glacier by Eli; he falls over seventy feet until
he smashes into the frozen sea below. While Team Polaris and Team Parlena escort
Searium through a wormhole, Eli and Rick head down below to finish off Eticus.
At the bottom of the glacier, the two look down at the paralyzed toad, who glares at
them with hatred; however he does hold a feeling of freedom and relief in his expression,
and after so many decades of causing pain and death to others, he got one chance to learn
the meaning of true friendship before his death. Eli sends a series of energy currents
through the ice, shattering the portion beneath Eticus and sending him sinking into the
cold frozen sea below. Eli knows that Eticus could have evaded his fall, but he hesitated
right in the middle of Eli’s attack. It is hinted that after so many years of friendship,
Eticus just couldn’t bring himself to kill his former friend. When Eli discusses this with
his father Cyrus, Cyrus says that friendship can drastically change one’s character, even
if they’re afraid to admit it. Eli thinks this idea over with Rick, who suddenly remembers
Xyla, and asks Eli what true love could do to a person; Eli doesn’t have an answer.
Two days later, Team Earth sits through their live interview in America, set to
broadcast out to the rest of the world in a matter of hours. After answering all questions
given to them, they insert earplugs and send a frequency out through their wrist
projectors on live television, successfully wiping out the memory of the Cosmic Medic in
every single viewer, and there were more people watching their interview than the super
bowl. They also use the frequency to wipe away all records and memories on the case of
the missing Team Soros in order to get the authorities off of their backs. Of course
records of the original Guilds, Ordu, and Krames will still exist, but not with any
connection to them.
This renders Team Earth as nothing more than average teenagers living a daily life.
Only those who got the memo about Team Earth’s plan kept their memory, namely their
parents, who meet up the next day to discuss just how ironically history can repeat itself.
Apparently they went through a similar ordeal after the Battle of the Himalayas over
thirty-one years ago, and under Serine’s orders, they used the same technique to wipe out
all knowledge of the Cosmic Medic on the planet.
Back in Marinum, after questioning a revived Searium, the Medic figures out the
truth about Karp, but when several agents march into Simmeral to apprehend him, he is
nowhere to be found. Karp has vanished from sight, and it is safe to assume that he has
gone back to relay information to Soros. Karp is able to give Soros useful information on
the Cosmic Medic, and Soros makes him a permanent member of his team in order to
replace Eticus.
On January 21st
, 2010, Rexis sends his own summons to every member of the
Cosmic Medic to gather at Simmeral. Once they all arrive, Rexis announces that he is
about to share his knowledge and secrets with the rest of the Cosmic Medic. For his first
order of business, Rexis explains his historical knowledge of Soros and the beginning of
the war. The Medic finds out that he was the lead scientist in creating Soros, and that it
was he who convinced Serine to create the Cosmic Medic in order to fight back against
his mistake. This gives Serine and the rest of the Medic cause to grant him the title of co-
founder and second in command.
Second and most important of all, the truth about Soros’s intentions is finally
revealed, and the Cosmic Medic learns about Amara Alore. In Terrakai tongue, it literally
means “Core Star”. It is the starting point of the big bang, the absolute center of the
universe, and the heart of the invisible energy network that spans throughout the cosmos.
Originally Amara Alore was thought by most to be a myth; it was discovered by the
Terrakai race, but kept secret from outside systems. Its existence only escaped Scystice in
the form of stories and legends. Only the Terrakai who discovered Amara Alore new of
its location, and that secret went to the grave with them. Now Soros seeks the core star,
for it acts as the natural control panel to all energy in the universe. Should he infect it, the
result will be a universal infection through the energy network, and Soros will essentially
become a god. The search for Amara Alore has now begun, at stake: a universe.
The Cosmos Map Story Arc
With all answers to the past, and the future hanging by a thread, the Cosmic Medic
begins a universal race against Soros to locate any information that they can on Amara
Alore. Various Medic agents begin tunneling through the universe from galaxy to galaxy
on a scavenger hunt, while Soros sends his armies out to attack and raid innocent planets.
By February 25, 2010, Team Romanon discovers a secretly built Terrakai data library in
the catacombs of Teserell, the capitol city of Crelis, Serine’s home planet. Rexis states
that the Terrakai built many data libraries all over the universe to keep their vast
knowledge away from unwanted seekers. With the discovery of the library, Serine has
Rexis gather the members of Team Romanon and prepare to leave for Crelis, when he is
stopped by Eli and Rick, who beg to go with them; after some deliberation, Rexis
accepts, and all seven of them leave for Crelis.
The reason that Eli and Rick want to go is mostly for the wellbeing of Xyla. Both
boys have been thinking back to their last battle with Eticus, and how they saw his
hesitation that led to death. Rick realizes that if Eli’s friendship with Eticus caused a
certain change of heart, then maybe his love for Xyla and Kaleen’s friendship did the
same thing. Eli and Rick wish to go in hopes that they’ll run into Soros’s forces along the
way, including Xyla. Although Eli states that the odds of running into her at this
particular time on Crelis are very low, Rick decides to take a chance.
The group arrives on Crelis and begins to search Teserell for the entrance to the
catacombs. Upon their arrival, two prayers spot them. They contact Soros telepathically
about the Medic’s presence and he pulls the prayers into The Crevice with his wrist
projector. Rexis, Eli, and Rick become aware of their leave, and Rick is somewhat
satisfied now that Soros may be on his way with Xyla. Upon hearing about the Medic’s
arrival on Crelis, Soros puts together his own search team; the team consists of him,
Xyla, Karp, and eight prayers. They quickly arrive on Crelis and locate the Medic search
team, although Rexis becomes aware of their presence.
The Medic search team soon finds an entrance to the catacombs, and starts to head
towards the library. After walking through a long shaft of tunnels, they find it standing in
the center of a large chamber. Upon entering the library, the Medic begins to search
around for information; little do they know that Soros and his forces have already beaten
them inside. While most of them wait in hiding, Xyla creeps through the library using her
camouflage ability. She stalks them all, waiting for one of them to come across a few
answers before she kills them. When she creeps near Rick, he strikes her down with an
energy blast and pulls her into The Crevice through a wormhole. After he gets her to stay
still for a minute, the two of them begin to talk heart to heart for a change.
Back in the library, Rexis is busy searching for…something. What he hasn’t told
anyone is that he is not just searching for information on Amara Alore, but something
much bigger. At last he finds it: an unknown staff with unknown powers to anyone but
him. It is the key to destroying Soros. In another corner of the library, Dula finds a
holographic projector containing a large full-scale map of the universe. Soros notices this
and launches his group of prayers on her, but Dula is fast, and flees from them on her
jetcycle; the prayers follow. Soon all are aware of Soros’s presence, and a battle for the
map ensues. The prayers chase Dula throughout the library but they are lured off course
by the other agents, and pursue them instead.
Back in The Crevice, Rick and Xyla are still arguing with each other; their dialogue
goes something like this:
Rick: In spite of everything that has happened over the past year, I still believe that you
love me.
Xyla: I never loved you. Haven’t you already figured it out?
Rick: No, and I refuse to accept that.
Xyla: Then you are a fool who is living in the past. It’s over; I never had a heart for you,
so move on.
Pause; Xyla starts to leave.
Rick: When Eticus died on Polaris, Eli and I saw through his eyes for the first time. We
realized that the reason Eli survived his fight with Eticus was because Eticus didn’t have
the will to kill him.
Xyla turns around.
Xyla: What concern is this to me?
Rick: After a twelve-year friendship with Eli, Eticus had a change of heart. We saw it in
his eyes.
Xyla: Then you saw wrong. We don’t care for these things. All that matters in this
universe is power and control, and Soros is the one who has it, so we side with him!
Rick (rising emotions): No, you’re wrong Xyla, and you know it. Admit the truth: during
the past twelve years of friendship with Kaleen you forgot your mission, during three
years of love with me you forgot you weren’t human, and when reality snapped back to
you, you regretted everything!
Pause.
Xyla falls to her knees as if all her mistakes have been shoved back into her face.
Rick: This war has brought out the truth in many of us, and for the most part, I wish I
hadn’t seen any of it.
Xyla: And I wish this feeling would just go away, but you’re right. You’re right about
everything. I don’t have the strength to fight you anymore, but I can’t love you; my heart
is just…too twisted. I….
Just then Xyla is pulled back into the library through a wormhole by Soros. She
looks down at the chase going on below, and then she looks up at Soros; he looks down
at her, expecting some action. Xyla reluctantly gives chase on her hover board. Rick also
returns to the library and catches up with his own team. The chase continues throughout
the library until the Medic agents make it to the central chamber, where they find
themselves surrounded by Karp, the prayers, Xyla, and Soros.
It is here that they make their last stand in the library against Soros. Team Romanon
engage Karp in a battle for the cosmos map. Eli and Rick battle against the eight prayers.
Soros duels against Rexis, who now wields his own unique battle staff. Xyla merely
circles the chamber without firing even one attack. Soros notices this but Rexis catches
him off guard and gains the advantage. Team Romanon breaks off of their fight with
Karp, but he gives chase on his jetcycle. Eli and Rick are also able to break off from the
fight after shooting down six of the prayers. They follow Karp and Team Romanon on
their jetcycles, but Soros sends Xyla to tailgate them.
The chase leads out of the chamber and into a separate section of the library. Karp
shoots Dula’s jetcycle out of the air, but when he swoops down to grab the map, Rick
shoots his down with his harpoon. Xyla and the remaining two prayers soon arrive at the
scene.
Both prayers swoop down for the kill, but they are easily beaten with a combination
attack from Korell and Farag. When Karp commands Xyla to attack, she merely hovers
over the group and stares down at them. Catching the opportunity she has given them,
Rick opens up a large wormhole with his wrist projector, allowing the group to escape
back to Simmeral. The last thing they hear is Karp’s scream of furry, though Rick is
unsure whether or not it’s for them or for Xyla. Dula then sends a signal to Rexis’s wrist
projector just after their escape, causing it to self activate and carry him away from Soros
and back to Simmeral, thus ending their mission.
After the Medic agents return to Simmeral, the map is uploaded into the Medic’s
chief database for protection. For his part, Rexis has brought back something even more
valuable than the cosmos map. The object is called the Avalon staff, a rare and powerful
piece of technology created by the Terrakai after Soros rebelled. The staff was thought to
be a turning point in the war against Soros, but Scystice was destroyed before it could
make a difference. Rexis managed to escape from his planet with the staff and hide it on
Crelis before exiling himself to Equitoris.
Rexis ponders on the past and realizes that up until now, everything that he has
done in his life has been a mistake. Back in The Crevice Xyla still remembers her
conversation with Rick, and how her entire battle for power has been meaningless
compared to the value of life. Soros and the others quickly realize a change in her
character, and soon begin to question her loyalties. With so much hanging on possession
of information now, Soros decides that he must obtain the cosmos map at all cost.
He decides to launch an all out attack on Simmeral in order to take the map and
obliterate the Cosmic Medic once and for all. Soros takes his team to a hidden war base
on the forest planet Tigeria, where his forces have been repairing and reinforcing his
damaged invasion army from the attack on Earth. Soros now holds an armada of seventy
battleships and fifty thousand rays. He plans to attack Simmeral with only ten battleships,
while saving the rest for Amara Alore in case he needs them. It is at this time that Xyla
abandons Soros and turns against him. Soros sends a swarm of stingers lead by Maladria
and Rinjin to kill her, but she escapes through a wormhole into Simmeral. She is quickly
captured by Team Desolace and taken to Serine, who decides to execute her.
Back home, Team Earth is busy dealing with their social lives. Since they are no
longer famous, they don’t get the extra time off to save the planet, so that means more
studying and more stuff to worry about. Kaleen and Avery begin receiving results from
their college applications, while Eli, Jade, and Rick have the upcoming Winter Formal to
worry about. Allegra Mildu continues to ask Rick to take her to the dance, as she believes
that they have been dating since homecoming. Aside from Soros’s invasion, nothing else
was wiped from her brain. Rick finally decides to tell her off and the two never speak to
each other again. He announces once again that he is done with love until college, despite
the fact that he could get any girl in school that he wanted.
Jade and Eli finally get a real date for once and get to spend some alone time
together touring Chicago on the night before the Winter Formal. Avery and Kaleen also
have a little fun dating. Rick spends the night roaming the city alone still thinking about
Xyla, the girl he will never get over. On the night of the dance, Jade and Eli don’t get a
lot of time on the floor; they are interrupted by a summons from Serine informing them
about Xyla’s capture.
All across the universe Medic agents journey to Simmeral to witness Xyla’s
execution. When Team Earth learns of her capture, Rick and Eli lead the others on a
mission to rescue her. The group makes it to Simmeral in time to convince the Medic of
Xyla’s new allegiance. The Medic refuses to believe that Xyla has changed sides, but
they do give her a chance to speak. She warns them about the upcoming siege and
Soros’s hidden base on Tigeria. While the Medic still doesn’t believe her, Xyla remains
calm and relaxed.
She transforms back into Rebecca Millard and gives Rick a long kiss before making
her escape. The Medic activates Simmeral’s energy shield to prevent any access or
departure via wormhole, but Xyla manages to hijack a streaker. After out-running several
jetcycles, she flies through the shield and escapes through a wormhole. Rick is happy that
Xyla made the right choice, and knows in his heart that he hasn’t seen the last of her.
The Medic is still cautious about Xyla’s warning, but Serine actually trusts her one
hundred percent, having read her mind before she escaped. On March 10, 2010, she sends
Team Tigeria to their home planet in order to confirm Xyla’s warning. Unfortunately her
words prove correct, and Soros’s newly built army is discovered. Their infiltration
mission is soon compromised by the arrival of Rinjin and Karp, forcing them to flee back
to Simmeral.
After the Medic confirms his planned attack, Soros decides that he has spent
enough time preparing his troops. On March 15, 2010, Soros departs from Tigeria along
with his army and heads towards Simmeral. All Medic teams are called back to prepare
for the attack. It only takes Soros one day to reach Simmeral, catching the Medic
unprepared and off guard. Soros launches his forces into attack, ready to obliterate the
base and obtain the cosmos map.
As more and more Medic agents pour into Simmeral, Rexis activates the android
assassin line to hold off Soros’s armies just outside of their perimeter. Soon all Medic
teams arrive in Simmeral, and Rexis is able to activate the base’s energy shield to buy a
little more time. In order to protect the cosmos map, Serine hands it to the remaining
members of the Crellian council for safekeeping during the attack. She also places Jade
and Eli in charge of protecting the varanium crystal, as she does not want to risk letting it
fall into Soros’s hands again. After both items are left with a guardian, Serine readies the
Medic for combat and sends Rexis to lead the defense. Dozens of agents mount their
jetcycles, while others activate their streakers. Before long the Medic is up in the air
heading towards Soros’s fleet, which is already caught in a tango with the android
assassin line. Serine deactivates the shields, and the skies turn into a massive Hell storm.
Meanwhile, Rinjin, Karp, and Maladria open a wormhole into Simmeral in order to
infiltrate and obtain the cosmos map and destroy the base from the inside. Maladria heads
towards the varanium crystal chamber, ready to obliterate Simmeral, while Karp and
Rinjin head towards Simmeral’s databank systems in hopes of finding the cosmos map.
Once Maladria enters the crystal chamber she finds herself locked in combat with Eli and
Jade. At Simmeral’s central chamber, Rinjin is intercepted by Team Jyrus, forcing him to
face off against his old team. Karp enters Simmeral’s data chamber alone where he finds
himself ambushed by the Crellian council. Karp does a quick mind scan and realizes that
they hold the cosmos map; so he engages all three of them in combat.
On top of the highest tower on Simmeral, Rexis finally calls upon the secret powers
of the Avalon staff. His body and biological energies are split apart, essentially turning
him into a being of pure power, which is exactly what Soros consists of. With the
potential to kill Soros now, Rexis flies into the battle, but not before calling on Team Aria
to protect his body. With so much energy at his command, Rexis is able to destroy over
thirty rays and bring down three war ships. He quickly infiltrates Soros’s warship and
attacks the virus head on with no mercy or hesitation. The two entities spiral through
every level of the ship, blasting each other with a barrage of energy blasts.
Back at Simmeral, Soros’s armies have moved in on Team Aria and begin to attack
Rexis’s body. The group uses various energy and elemental attacks to fend off each
wave, only to encounter several more following. In another part of the battle, Serine uses
the techno-kinetic powers given to her by her suit to activate the base’s defenses and fend
off various attackers. Inside Simmeral all three battle parties have gone into full power,
and each one has begun to deliver significant damage to the surrounding battlefield.
Maladria tries constantly to grab hold of the varanium crystal, but Eli and Jade thwart
each attempt. Rinjin’s battle against Team Jyrus has moved above the central chamber
and onto the glass dome roof surrounding it. The Crellian council is combining all of
their psychic energies with their suit’s energies, but even united they are outmatched
against Karp’s enhanced power from Soros. The trio is pinned down and Karp locates the
cosmos map by probing their minds a little deeper. He supposedly downloads the map
into his brain from the database and escapes Simmeral while leaving the trio exhausted.
Outside the Medic is still combating Soros’s armies. Ground teams battle against
the creatures on Simmeral’s walls while sky teams and androids battle against aerial
forces. Serine is using her power to aid both sides as much as possible while protecting
her own body as well. She raises defense turrets, pilots several dozen streakers, and
summons large cables all with her techno-kinesis. Inside the lead battleship, Soros and
Rexis continue to match their powers against one and other. Just as Rexis succeeds in
knocking Soros to the ground, Karp arrives though a wormhole and strikes Rexis from
behind with an energy beam. Soros matches his power and Rexis is caught in between the
two attacks. The combined blasts knock him out cold, and his energized form is
imprisoned inside a containment field.
Meanwhile, Soros’s creatures are tearing Simmeral apart piece by piece, as the
Medic’s army fights in vain to protect the base. Team Aria is pushed to the edge in
protecting Rexis’s body, when all of a sudden help arrives from Kaleen, Avery, and Rick.
Together the group forms a perimeter around the body and fends off the oncoming
creatures. Back inside Simmeral, Eli and Jade are able to harness the power of the
varanium crystal to send Maladria into retreat. The two of them head to the highest point
on Simmeral to use the remaining energy of crystal to ward off Soros’s assault.
On top of the roof, Rinjin is losing energy against his old team. The Solarians push
him to the edge when suddenly a squadron of rays fire at them from above. Rinjin takes
this moment to make an escape. Team Jyrus tries to follow him, but they are caught in a
swarm of prayers and stingers. Rinjin makes it to the other side of the roof where he
escapes by hitching a ride onto a sky viper. Just as he flies off, Eli and Jade make it to the
top of Simmeral. Calling on the power of the varanium crystal, they send out a massive
energy wave that pushes all of Soros’s creatures into retreat (like a patronous); Rinjin
however is long gone before the wave catches him. Three more of Soros’s warships are
destroyed by the wave, and many rays are sent crashing into the mountains. Soros’s
remaining forces board his last three warships and escape through a wormhole.
The result of the battle is both fortunate, yet unfortunate for both sides. It is
discovered that the map Karp had stolen was a decoy copy placed inside the data bank for
just such an occasion, so the Medic still holds onto the real map. The capture of Rexis
however is enough to please Soros, though he now realizes that the power of the Avalon
staff is one of the few things in the universe that can destroy him, and in the possession of
the Medic, he now has something to truly fear. Rexis’s body is contained in Simmeral
while his mind and energies remain in the possession of Soros, and only the Avalon staff
can reunite the two, an artifact which the Medic still knows very little about.
As for the cosmos map, the Medic decides that keeping it locked within Simmeral’s
database is not secure enough. After much debate over the subject, Serine and the Medic
decide to divide the map into five separate pieces, each one implanted into the mind of
one agent from five separate teams. This is to ensure maximum security and to prevent
Soros from ever obtaining a full copy of the map. The five agents selected to bear the
pieces are Areim of Team Cyclis, Orino of Team Jyrus, Searium of team Parlena, Farag
of Team Romanon, and Avery of Team Earth. These five are charged with the task of
bearing the map and keeping each piece out of Soros’s clutches, as they will soon see to
in the next few months
The Five Keepers Story Arc
It’s March 20th
, 2010, and Team Earth has many ordeals ahead of them in the next
few months. First off, Kaleen and Avery have a multitude of senior activities to look
forward to, such as a talent show, Prom, and Grad Night in Downtown Chicago. Avery
also has to maintain some responsibility as a Map Keeper. His father Jacob keeps a close
eye on him now to make sure that he isn’t targeted by any of Soros’s minions. Eli, Jade,
and Rick are busy studying for college testing and completing their own schoolwork.
Avery gets into college at MIT, as his experience with the Cosmic Medic has led him to
develop a love of technology, while Kaleen has decided to study abroad. Both
Kaleen/Avery and Eli/Jade manage to find time to date in the middle of all this stress.
Team Earth has now managed to balance out their double lives.
For Serine’s part, she begins to study the mysterious artifact known as the Avalon
staff that Rexis brought back with him from the library. She gains a small understanding
of its use and of the situation that Rexis is in, but fails to understand its true potential
against Soros. She discovers a reading in the staff’s energy signature that indicates it is in
use and that Rexis is still alive. After making some modifications, Serine reprograms it to
be able to track the user so that the Medic can rescue Rexis.
Back in The Crevice, Soros maintains full custody of Rexis’s energized form. He
considers absorbing the Terrakai into his own form but then fears that Rexis might gain
control of his mind just as Serine did. Instead Soros keeps Rexis alive as a bartering chip
in case he has to trade something as a last resort to obtain the map. In the meantime he
and Karp set out to discover where Serine hid it, as they both know that she wouldn’t risk
destroying such valuable information. Karp returns to Simmeral with Soros hiding inside
of his body. While inside Karp, Soros discovers that his powers are just as strong as they
once were while in Serine’s body and that he could easily take possession of Karp. The
feeling of Karp’s power is intoxicating to him, but he decides to keep this desire to
himself for the moment.
Karp infiltrates Simmeral using Soros’s shape shifting powers and the two of them
hack into the database to find that the map is missing. Just as they are about to leave, they
find themselves surrounded by Don, Nylon, and Irva of Team Polaris, who believe that
Karp is only one man. They are soon in shock when Soros steps out and probes their
minds in ten seconds before knocking them out cold. Soros smiles with intrigue before
opening a wormhole and returning with Karp to The Crevice.
Back on Earth, Rick receives a visit from Xyla while roaming the city street. She
asks about the final outcome of Soros’s attack on Simmeral and Rick gives her an update
on current events. The two of them meet secretly on top of a sky scraper, and Xyla warns
him just how deep Soros’s hunger for power can dwell. She hypothesizes that when the
Terrakai designed Soros, they made a miscalculation in his consumption purpose that
grew into an infinite craving. Soros seeks Amara Alore to gain total control of the
universe, but the need for control is only a surface feature, and if he infects Amara Alore,
he will be able to consume everything that is reality. She trusts Rick not to let all five
pieces of the map fall into Soros’s hands, for fear of a universal consumption. Xyla
(disguised as Rebecca Millard) and Rick walk through town for a few hours on a date
before she teleports through a wormhole to a distant part of the city.
When Rick tells the rest of Team Earth that Xyla is now on their side, they are very
cautious about trusting her. Kaleen herself wants to be friends with Xyla again, but part
of her is still furious that she deceived her for twelve years. Rick discusses the situation
with his father Davion, and Kaleen discusses it with her mother Miranda. Both parents
tell their children the same thing: the problem of the matter is not trusting her; it’s
trusting themselves. Rick and Kaleen spend a lot of time contemplating current events
later on.
Back in The Crevice, Soros informs Karp, Rinjin, and Maladria that Serine has
decided to divide the map into the minds of five Medic agents from different teams. He
was able to obtain this information by probing the minds of Team Polaris. Soros instructs
his agents and creatures to begin the hunt for Areim, Orino, Searium, Farag, and Avery.
Their orders are to capture and deliver so that Soros can extract the map data.
In the middle of the meeting, an unidentifiable figure cloaked in black emerges into
The Crevice and comes face to face with Soros. Karp, Maladria, and Rinjin ready their
weapons but Soros commands them to stand down. He greets the new comer with
enthusiasm, and the figure reveals himself to be an android assassin, but not just any
android assassin. His number reads AA 970 but a quick mind scan reveals him to be
infected by none other than AA 690. As it so happens, before the invasion of Earth, Soros
planned for AA 690 to fake his own death so that he could infiltrate the android lines.
Just before his head was blown off, he managed to upload his mind into that of AA 970
and remain undercover for the past four months.
Soros kept this information secret from his other subordinates in case any of them
were to betray him in that short time period, such as Xyla. The mission that AA 690 was
given was well worth the secrecy. Soros had a big plan in the making, but in order for it
to succeed, he required the frequency in which the Medic’s wrist projectors transmitted
on. AA 690 was able to infiltrate the Medic, steal that frequency, and escape during the
attack on Simmeral without being detected.
With the frequency now downloaded onto AA690’s processing chip, Soros can use
him as a median to broadcast a virus throughout the Medic’s system that scrambles all
communication and destroys projection capabilities in all of their wrist projectors and
other transports. This isolates every team in the Medic on their home world and renders
functionality as an organization down to zero. With the Medic scattered across the
universe and no one to guide them, Soros can now officially begin the hunt for the map.
Each lieutenant is assigned a specific agent to track down and capture: Maladria is
assigned to Searium, Rinjin is assigned to Orino, Karp is assigned Areim, AA 690 is
assigned Avery, and Soros plans to go after Farag himself.
For the next month the five keepers are left stranded like rats on a log ready to be
picked off one by one. Team Earth is forced to be extra cautious now, and Avery is never
left alone if his team can help it. On the storm planet Cyclis, Areim is the first one chased
down and captured by Karp. Searium finds herself hunted down by Maladria in a game of
Cat & Mouse on the savannah planet Parlena. Orino puts up a good fight against Rinjin,
but he too is soon struck down and delivered to Soros. Farag does no better when faced
off against Soros himself. As each keeper is captured, Serine tries in vain to repair the
Medic’s network, but the virus is too deeply incorporated into the system, and she
realizes that she would have to attack it at the source. As each keeper is captured, their
map piece is removed from their brain by Soros and incorporated into his own.
Eventually Avery is the only keeper left to capture, a fact that no one in Team Earth is
aware of yet.
AA 690 soon moves in on Earth, but Xyla picks up his signal when his wormhole
opens, since her wrist projector is still functioning. She travels to Rick’s house to warn
him about the open portal and the two of them rush to Avery to save him. AA 690 arrives
before they do and Avery is stunned to find out that he is alive. The two of them square
off in a short battle, which wakes up Avery’s father Jacob. He rushes in to save Avery
and throws the mad android out of a window. AA 690 faces off against Jacob, who is
easily able to hold his own. AA 690 traps him and Avery in a grapple and begins to
choke the life out of them. Rick and Xyla arrive just in time to save them but they too are
surprised to see AA 690 alive again, just as much as he is surprised to see Xyla working
together with Rick. He calls her a traitor and then tells them how he faked his own death
so that he could infiltrate the Medic to steal their wrist projector frequency and infect
them with a virus, and how Avery is the last keeper on the list to be captured. Before he
can escape, Rick uses his clones to pin him against a tree, and Xyla uses her staff to
freeze him in place. She opens a wormhole with her own wrist projector and takes them
back to Simmeral, but not before sending AA 690 back to The Crevice so that he won’t
hurt Jacob or anyone else on Earth. He reports back to Soros who is enraged to find out
that Xyla is interfering.
At Simmeral the group meets Serine, who is still trying to disinfect the frequency.
After updating her on the situation at hand, Xyla offers to let her use her own wrist
projector to leave Simmeral, but Serine reluctantly declines. Avery and Rick then come
up with the idea of switching the Medic’s wrist projector frequency to Xyla’s frequency,
but she protests, explaining that Soros and his armies operate on that exact same one and
that they would be able to listen in on them. Serine decides to take that risk, and Xyla’s
wrist projector is uploaded into Simmeral’s main communications satellite.
Contact in the Cosmic Medic is restored, and for a brief moment, all is well; then
Soros contacts them on his frequency and congratulates them all for managing to restore
communication. He also curses Xyla for interfering with his scheme. Since the Medic has
restored communications, Soros offers them a deal: surrender the final piece of the map
along with the Avalon staff and he will grant them access to their own frequency again.
He will also surrender Rexis and the four other keepers. He gives them three hours to
decide.
Serine sends a summons to the other four teams belonging to the keepers to decide
what course of action to take: exchange the map and the Avalon staff for the keepers,
Rexis, and frequency rights, or keep the map and staff out of Soros’s hands. After much
debate, it is decided abandoning a comrade is not in the Medic’s nature; so the five teams
take Soros’s deal, even after Xyla repeatedly warns them that Soros would infect and
consume the entire universe if he found Amara Alore, but since she is not an official
member, her warnings are tossed aside.
What the Medic doesn’t understand is that the Avalon staff is the key to
overcoming Soros’s power and destroying him for good. Rexis gives this information to
the other four keepers while the five of them remain locked in separate containment
fields, as they are so curious about its importance. He tells them of its origin, and the
potential it holds for ending the war (see the prequel series for an in-depth story of the
staff’s creation). The other agents of the Medic aren’t aware of its true power and
purpose.
Back at Simmeral, when the Medic attempts to apprehend Avery and extract the
map piece from his mind, Xyla sends him and Rick back to Earth before following suit.
The trio arrives in Chicago but is chased down by Eli, Jade, and Kaleen. The
disagreements between the two parties escalate into a full on battle, until finally the group
comes to reason. Xyla warns them about Soros’s hunger cravings, and that if he has his
way, the whole universe will die at his hands. After her warning, Xyla does one last thing
before she leaves: she hands them a data projector in which to store the map piece once
Serine extracts it from Avery’s mind.
Shortly after Xyla leaves, Serine and the Crellian council arrive on Earth and ask
that Avery give himself up. Team Earth presents her with the data projector (without
mentioning that it belongs to Xyla), and Avery surrenders himself to Serine’s psychic
powers. The final piece is extracted and placed inside the data projector. The three hour
ultimatum comes to an end and Soros contacts Serine asking for the map fragment and
the Avalon staff once again. Serine informs him that they will be bringing the final piece
in a data projector, and demands that they meet in a neutral system. Soros agrees to her
terms and sets the exchange for April 28th
on the broken moon of Distum, orbiting the gas
giant Palendrome.
On the night before the exchange, Xyla meets with Avery and Rick to organize an
assault, explaining that the data projector she handed them is hiding a bomb that will
explode at the push of a button. Somehow this doesn’t surprise them. Xyla plans to
rescue the captured agents and free the frequency without letting Soros take the map and
staff. She says that if Soros is using AA 690 to transmit the virus, then destroying the

His purpose was to consume and recycle dead matter. The Terrakai gave him intelligence and great power. He was neither living nor dead, but a new conscious energy beyond the understanding of any being. Unfortunately Soros’s consumption of matter went out of hand and he began to spread disease and despair across the Terrakai’s home world Scystice. When he started to consume living matter, the Terrakai attempted to destroy their creation after only two
  • 4. years, but Soros escaped into the vast reaches of space, vowing the destruction of the Terrakai one day. For the next seventeen Earth years Soros consumed dead and living matter. He brought death and disease to every world he visited. The power hungry being decimated several species and sucked the light out of hundreds of stars. Soon various sentient beings across the universe began to resist his wrath. After the seventeen years were up, the first true organization against Soros was formed, the Cosmic Medic. Just as Soros was a virus that infected the universe, the Cosmic Medic was an organization that would heal it. Their soul dedication was to purge the universe of Soros. This organization was founded and led by a powerful Crellian named Serine, with secret help from the Terrakai. It held a variety of species organized into teams of three to five to represent their home planet. In a sense, the Cosmic Medic would be used by the Terrakai to cover up their mistake. Serine was able to unify extraterrestrial species across the universe with the help of the Terrakai’s wrist projector invention, which could project wormholes for long distance travel and communicate with others from beyond the stars. Soros eventually set his sights on the primitive planet Earth, one of the few worlds in the universe that had not been touched by his power. Serine could not let such an innocent planet fall before him, so she set out to find a team of humans who could represent their planet. The humans were a lesser species than most sentient ones, but had great potential within their hearts and minds. Due to the average human’s expected reaction of alien activity, Serine decided to keep the Medic and Soros a secret to the public upon her arrival. Finding the first Team Earth was no easy feat, for the Medic’s suits of power would bond with the DNA of very few human beings. Serine searched for a young team that was still growing, for the youth would be able to accept the Cosmic Medic far better than the old. Eventually she found five teenagers attending Lake View High School in Chicago: Cyrus Everheart, Miranda Hilms, Jacob Zukowski, Amie Lee, and Dameon Ranaldi. The suits accepted their DNA, and all five secretly became members of the Cosmic Medic. For the next three years of their high school careers they fought in the war against Soros as he attacked the home planets of various Medic teams. Soros created an army of alien creatures to aid him in the war, and hired an army of bounty hunters to lead his forces against the Medic, the three primaries being named Eticus, Xyla, and Maladria. All mercenaries pledged their eternal loyalty to him, and fought against numerous Medic agents. The Medic’s numbers began to drop rapidly, so they designed twelve hundred android assassin units to assist them in the war, but by now Soros was ready to extract his revenge on Scystice. The first planet to attack him was the first one to fall. On June 8th , 1977, Soros and his armies invaded Scystice and stole two varanium crystals from the planet’s primary research base, which could absorb all of the energy from a sun star until it was dead. The Cosmic Medic and the Terrakai fought with valor, but with no avail. Soros used one of the varanium crystals to kill Scystice’s sun. He then released the energy into a supernova blast that obliterated Scystice, sending the oldest race in the known cosmos into extinction. During the battle Soros also gained two new allies. The android assassin AA 690 betrayed the Cosmic Medic and joined Soros. This forced the Medic to shut down the android assassin line, out of fear that they all might rebel. This drastically reduced their
  • 5. numbers once again. The remaining android assassin was given enhanced power by Soros, thereby becoming a match for any agent of the Cosmic Medic. One of the Medic agents also betrayed his own team. His name was Rinjin, a Solarian from the planet Jyrus. He attacked his team and left them for dead. The Medic rescued team Jyrus, but Rinjin was now sided with Soros. With one varanium crystal left in his hands, and the only one in existence, Soros decided to use it on Earth. He and the Cosmic Medic spent around a year of cease-fire to round up and rebuild their forces. During the cease-fire period, Serine developed a way to imprison Soros in a pocket dimension known as The Crevice. She and the rest of the Cosmic Medic reprogrammed their wrist projectors to open portals for long-distance and inter-dimensional travel from the celestial universe into The Crevice. On July 22nd, 1978, Soros launched his attack on Earth. Every agent of the Cosmic Medic responded to the invasion, and on the slopes of the Himalayas, they fought. Victory was near, but the power of Soros could not be vanquished, merely contained. In the last few moments of the battle, Team Earth removed the varanium crystal from Soros’s clutches before he could kill the sun and wipe out the Earth. They reversed the process and ejected the solar energy back into the sun in a controlled jet of light. Team Earth then combined their energies and banished Soros into The Crevice with their wrist projectors. This brought an end to the war, and the Cosmic Medic broke up. The last varanium crystal in existence was locked away in Simmeral, the Medic’s capitol city base on the mountain planet Al Kash. Soros’s remaining forces were stranded on the Earth, and scattered into the depths of the ocean trenches and the dense jungles of the Amazon. His five primary lieutenants (Eticus, Xyla, AA 690, Maladria, and Rinjin) were also stranded on Earth, and went undercover as humans via I.D. belts. Some of the Medic agents went undercover on Earth to keep Soros’s remaining creatures in check. Cyrus and Miranda married and had a daughter named Kaleen and a son named Eli. Jacob married Rachel Kahn and had two sons named Avery and Thomas. Amie married Han Long Wei and had a daughter named Jade. Dameon married and then divorced, but kept his son Rick. All five of them had worn their battle suits for three years. After wearing them for so long, their bodies adapted to the nature of their suits, and they inherited their powers, apparently a side effect that only applied to human beings. Over the years, Soros developed in power while locked away in The Crevice. He later started to communicate with his lieutenants through telepathy, though he had no way to interact with the celestial universe. All he could do was wait for the next generation of Team Earth to come by so he could gain access to a wrist projector. AA 690, Maladria, and Rinjin went undercover at Lake View High as Coach Robby Guilds, Ms. Lily Ordu, and Mr. Krames, assassinating the originals to take their place. The three waited patiently for the next generation of Team Earth to fall into their grasp. Eticus and Xyla watched over the first generation, and by the age of four, Eli met Eticus in the guise of a four year old named Allan Piper via an I.D. belt. By the age of five, Kaleen met Xyla in the guise of a five year old named Rebecca Millard via an I.D. belt. Eli and Kaleen became best friends with Allan and Rebecca, never suspecting their true natures. The two aliens pulled off the ultimate twelve-year bluff to keep watch over both Eli and Kaleen until they received their wrist projectors, combining prayers with extra I.D belts to act as their family. In eighth grade, Xyla became Rick’s girl friend when he was
  • 6. still in seventh grade. Eli, Kaleen, and Rick never met Avery and Jade until they were in High School at Lake View High. Eli, Rick, and Jade are now sophomores while Kaleen and Avery are juniors. All five are within the grasp of Soros’s lieutenants, and all five are about to become the next generation of Team Earth. Soros has greatly developed in power, and his creatures are mobilizing. All he needs is to escape from The Crevice. It’s been thirty years; the date is September 3rd , 2008, and it’s the first day of school at Lake View High in Chicago, Illinois. Escape Story Arc It’s the first day of the new school year at Lake View High, and Kaleen and Rebecca are really excited about going back. Eli, Rick, and Allan still wish it were summer. Meanwhile Avery is showing his freshman brother Thomas around campus, and Jade is busy reading a gothic horror novel while sitting alone in her new homeroom. The students meet their new teachers as the school day goes by. In another part of town, Cyrus, Miranda, Jacob, Amie, and Dameon meet up with Serine and her accomplice Giringon, a Worvon from the planet Polaris. They meet in a small coffee shop to discuss the current situation with Soros’s creatures scattered across the planet. Serine and Giringon have been undercover as humans for thirty years to help keep his forces in check, along with several other Medic agents. Serine reports that his creatures are coming out of hiding more often now, and killing more people. She and Giringon both agree that it’s time to give their children the wrist projectors and the title as the new Team Earth. On the way back from the meeting, Cyrus and Miranda are both attacked by a group of prayers. Using the superhuman abilities that they inherited from their suits during the war, they are easily able to defeat the creatures. Both agree that they need a new Team Earth as soon as possible. So Eli, Kaleen, Avery, Jade, and Rick are all given their parents’ suits of power, weapons, wrist projectors, and jetcycles to combat against Soros’s creatures. They are updated on the history and current situation that the planet is facing. As a precaution, all remaining agents on Earth forbid them to reveal the Medic’s existence to anyone, but Eticus and Xyla discover in secret, and regroup with AA 690, Maladria, and Rinjin after school hours. They communicate with Soros via his inter-dimensional power of telepathy. Soros decides that this is the perfect opportunity to obtain a wrist projector. He sends his lieutenants on a mission to steal one from Team Earth so that he may escape from The Crevice, but orders them not to blow their cover. Eticus and Xyla attack Eli and Kaleen in an attempt to steal a wrist projector, but Rick comes to their rescue and foils their attempt. Just when they think they have won, AA690 swoops down and snatches Rick’s wrist projector. Although Soros’s lieutenants succeed in stealing a wrist projector, Eli manages to hold off Soros’s passage through the portal long enough for Team Earth to seal it back up and retrieve the device. Team Soros decides to remain undercover as friends and teachers in order to get closer to Team Earth. They are never suspected of loyalty to Soros, not by Team Earth nor what remains of the Cosmic Medic. For the next few months, Team Earth keeps Soros’s alien creatures in check across the globe while being watched over by the Glanba, a group of aliens made of gelatin with the powers of shape shifting and liquid formation. They are one of the few remaining
  • 7. Medic teams on Earth, and consist of Areim, Exorl, Nike, Ira, and Quint. Team Soros tries several attempts to steal a wrist projector from Team Earth. AA 690, Maladria, and Rinjin keep a close eye on them at school in disguise, while Eticus and Xyla watch them from the outside. After so many failed attempts, both in alien and human form, Team Soros is able to capture Kaleen, but she opens a portal and sends her wrist projector to her brother Eli to keep it out of their clutches. Team Soros threatens to kill Kaleen unless Team Earth hands it over. When the Glanba figure out their true identities, Team Soros decides to reveal themselves to Team Earth. The two sides plan to meet on top of the Sears tower to exchange a wrist projector for Kaleen. Team Earth doesn’t actually plan on handing it over. Avery devises a plan to escape with Kaleen and the wrist projector. The group arrives at the Sears tower, but when they try to save Kaleen, Team Soros intercepts them. After thirty years in the shadows, they finally come out of hiding, and reveal their false identities to Team Earth. Eli, Kaleen, and Rick are all shocked and heartbroken that their best friends are their worst enemies. With no other option, Team Earth engages their former friends and teachers battle, but with reality now pounding down on them, they are easily defeated. The wrist projector falls into Team Soros’s hands, and a portal into The Crevice is opened. On December 15th , 2008 Soros finally escaped into the celestial universe with his forces. Team Earth was left heartbroken, and the people that they thought they could have trusted with their lives were no more. New War Story Arc After Soros escapes from The Crevice, Team Earth goes on winter break. Eli, Kaleen, and Rick are devastated at the loss of their former friends, and realize just how cunning and evil they were. Cyrus, Miranda, and Dameon wonder how they could have missed so many obvious signs over the past twelve years. They meet up with Jacob, Amie, Serine, Giringon, and the Glanba to discuss the next course of action now that Soros has escaped. The former Team Earth decides that this is not their war anymore, and that they must leave things up to the new generation. Serine decides to open several wormholes and dismiss all foreign agents from Earth and back to their home worlds to await further orders, but not before giving the Glanba their own wrist projectors. As Serine ponders whether or not to declare cosmic war, Soros opens a wormhole to Chicago and pays her a visit. The two of them engage in a duel and exchange blows, Soros with his scythe and Serine with her trident. Soros asks Serine why she hesitates to declare war against him, stating that she is only denying destiny, and that if she doesn’t, the Cosmic Medic will die much sooner. Soros leaves Earth and tells Serine to make his presence known throughout the universe once more. After Soros’s attack, Serine leaves Earth and travels to Simmeral, the old abandoned war base on Al Kash. She meets the four members of the Crellian council, who have lived there for the past thirty years since the end of the war. After they reinforce Simmeral, Serine sends a calling to every old member of the Cosmic Medic throughout the universe to meet up at the base. For the first time in over thirty years, the Cosmic Medic is reformed. New characters are introduced, including the Bristols from Tigeria, the Solarians from Jyrus (Rinjin’s old team), the Amphimars from Aria, and the Fleximists from Parlena. Serine announces that Soros has finally escaped from The
  • 8. Crevice and that he demands war against the Cosmic Medic. After a long and emotional debate, the Cosmic Medic declares war against Soros, though many agents are not comfortable with the new Team Earth. On January 14, 2009, the war against Soros began anew. The Cosmic Medic spends the next few months protecting each other’s home planets from Soros’s wrath. Serine creates new equipment for the Medic, such as new fighter pods called streakers and special wrist projectors that allow one to share their suit’s powers with another using a special syncing chip. Soros responds to their new technologies by creating three new creatures, the sky vipers, the hydra leeches, and the tentaculi. He also reverse engineers the wrist projector that he stole, and creates six new copies for himself and his team. Soros invades and feeds off of planets such as Equitoris, Jyrus, Tigeria, Cyclis, Polaris, and Necrodine in order to replenish his power after being locked in The Crevice for thirty years. He also launches an attack on the Cosmic Medic’s laboratory base Marinum on the oceanic planet Aria, and on their manufacturing space station Arrowspore orbiting the gas giant Rectamede. During the war, Eli and Jade’s relationship begins to blossom, as does Avery and Kaleen’s. Rick decides to hold off on dating until he goes to college. The group fights in several battles on different planets over the next few months to help out their fellow Medic agents. On Earth, authorities from Chicago investigate the disappearances of Allan, Rebecca, Coach Guilds, Mr. Krames, and Ms. Ordu. Team Earth becomes their best lead in the case due to Eli, Kaleen, and Rick’s friendship with Allan and Rebecca. The group is watched by the Chicago Police Department on a daily basis, making it difficult to go to battle. While off the planet, Team Earth faces off against their former friends and teachers on multiple occasions. As the war drags on, Soros and his team begin hunting down and exterminating certain agents that contribute most to the Cosmic Medic. Team Jyrus also comes face to face with their old teammate Rinjin after over thirty years, and are able to face him in battle. Though they are unable to kill him, they escape the attack unharmed. The war continues for several months until Medic agents across the universe are all distracted with protecting their home worlds from Soros’s armies. By June, the Cosmic Medic is divided, and Soros has mustered a small army to invade Simmeral. Serine sends out a distress call to various agents across the Cosmos, but the only ones to respond are Searium from Parlena, Giringon from Polaris, Markil from Tigeria, Thorn from Equitoris, Rigel and Aliena from Jyrus, and Areim and Exorl from Cyclis. The Crellian council is also present, giving them a total of thirteen agents to protect Simmeral from Soros. Back on Earth, Team Earth is busy with final exams for the year, and they miss Serine’s call. The battle of Simmeral drags on for hours. Serine is able to break free of the fight and contact Team Earth just as they finish their final exams. She begs Team Earth to assist them at Simmeral, and they respond to her pleas. By the time they arrive, Soros has already penetrated much of Simmeral’s interior. His forces finally make it to the central core of Simmeral’s power system, the last varanium crystal. Team Earth blockades his alien creatures and fights off many of them before coming face to face with Soros. The group combines their energies to subdue the virus but he repels every attack before pinning Team Earth against the fortress walls via energy tentacles. Before he can kill them however, Serine, Rigel, Aliena, Markil, and Areim come to the rescue. Tired
  • 9. and outnumbered Soros flees from Simmeral with the varanium crystal, deactivating its systems and rendering it no more than a bomb shelter. The battle led to the deaths of Giringon, Exorl, and Thorn. The Medic meets in Marinum on June 18th , 2009 to debate on their next course of action. They discuss when and where Soros will use the varanium crystal, and Serine concludes that he plans to attack Earth once more like he did so many years ago. She warns Team Earth to prepare for the storm that will come in the next few months after Soros rallies his forces once more. Invasion Story Arc The story flashes forward to late August of 2009; Soros has been extremely quiet lately. Team Earth and the rest of the Cosmic Medic are finally given a vacation, and each planet in the Medic is given a short time of peace. Eli and Kaleen are able to build their relationships with Jade and Avery, and the four very quickly become two couples. Rick begins to feel left out of the love circle and begins searching for a new girlfriend, despite the promise he made to himself about waiting until college By the end of August, while the Cosmic Medic is enjoying its leisure time, Soros falls back into action. He is able to invade Arrowpore and hijack three carrier ships big enough to hold thirty thousand of his creatures. He infects them all and transforms each one into an all powerful war ship. Serine and the rest of the Cosmic Medic are immediately notified of the situation. They gather at Marinum, their new base of operations, to discuss the situation. The Medic realizes that Soros could be mounting an invasion of Earth any day now. Back home, Team Earth has started their new school year, which means Eli, Jade, and Rick are now juniors, while Kaleen and Avery are now seniors. The Chicago Police Department is still investigating the whereabouts of their so-called friends and teachers, and they are still keeping a very close watch on the group and the school. They gather any information that they can, partly out of duty, but mostly out of curiosity. The year goes on very slowly for Team Earth since they aren’t called on missions. While Team Earth focuses on their schoolwork and social life, Soros sends a signal Crellian council member Karp, who has been acting as a sleeper agent for over thirty years now. The two of them make a secret deal that will ensure control of the Cosmic Medic to Karp after the planned attack on Earth. Karp spends the next few months waiting in the shadows for that day to come. No one suspects him whatsoever. Karp also gives Soros a valuable piece of information, the whereabouts of the last known Terrakai, Rexis Ravala. After discovering that he dwells on the jungle planet Equitoris, Soros sends his five lieutenants to capture him. Rexis is able to put up a good fight when they arrive using the various visionary powers of his species, but he is eventually beaten and thrown into The Crevice, where he comes face to face with Soros. He is however able to send his own distress call to Serine via his own broken down wrist projector. Soros binds him with energy tentacles and begins to interrogate him. He shows Rexis a data projector that he stole from Scystice just before its destruction. The data projector holds detailed information on Amara Alore, the core star. Serine receives Rexis’s distress call and sends a notification to Team Earth. For the first time in months they are finally given a mission. They meet Serine at Marinum and she updates them on the situation with Rexis. As the last of the Terrakai, he may hold
  • 10. secrets of the universe that no other being should know about. She sends Team Earth to Equitoris to rescue Rexis from Soros. Upon arriving, Team Earth begins searching throughout the jungles to find Rexis, without any idea of what he looks like. Unbeknownst to them, they are being watched by Eticus, Xyla, AA690, Maladria, and Rinjin Team Soros begins to stalk Team Earth from the treetops, but Jade notices their presence and signals for a surprise attack. They catch Team Soros off guard, and after a short fight, defeat them with ease. Through an interrogation, Eli forces Eticus to tell him the whereabouts of Rexis. Team Soros departs from Equitoris severely weakened, while Team Earth heads into The Crevice. Upon entering, they decide to split up into three groups in order to cover more ground. Soros discovers their presence and dispatches a squadron of sky vipers to hunt them down while he tortures Rexis for information on the core star. Eli and Jade lose their sky viper using Jade’s power of invisibility, Kaleen and Avery shoot theirs down, and Rick sends his through a wormhole leading to the interior of a star. By now Soros has bought plenty of time, but Rexis still refuses to give into his suffering. Soros moves to plan B, and copies the information from Rexis’s mind telepathically. Soros also damages his mind with a powerful mental strike, knocking him out. After extracting the information on the core star from Rexis’s mind, Soros prepares to kill him, but Avery and Kaleen arrive in time to stop him. Knowing that he can’t risk the information falling into their hands, Soros calls forth two tentaculi to battle them while he makes his move to kill the unconscious Rexis, but Kaleen blocks him off. While Avery battles the tentaculi, Kaleen protects Rexis from Soros. The other members of Team Earth arrive, and all five beat defeat Soros and escape to Marinum with Rexis. After dropping him off, Team Earth heads back to Chicago, while the Medic tries to wake Rexis up. Meanwhile, Soros realizes that the old legends aren’t legends anymore, and that the universe truly does have an energy core. He has read all of the information that he needs from Rexis’s mind, and he now knows the function and secrets behind the existence of Amara Alore. He is also aware that the Cosmic Medic will soon discover its existence as well if they succeed in healing Rexis. To distract their efforts, Soros moves the planned invasion of Earth from next month to next week, on November 8th , 2009, which is also homecoming night for Lake View High. The next day at school is filled with drama and excitement as people rush around campus looking for a date to bring to homecoming. Rick doesn’t even try to get a date, because he is asked out by about a dozen girls. He turns every single one of them down, as he is still somewhat depressed about Rebecca. Kaleen finally tells him that it’s time to move on and find another girl. After much deliberation, Rick decides to start dating again. He gets a date with Allegra Mildu, one of the girls who asked him out, though he’s not very comfortable with her around due to her awkward nature. Meanwhile, Soros sets a course for Earth with his three stolen war ships, carrying his five lieutenants and an army of thirty thousand alien creatures. He passes just a little too close to Aria, and the Medic picks up his trail using the tracking satellites orbiting the planet. Serine responds to this by awakening the deactivated android assassin army that had been dormant for over thirty-one years. She plans to use them in unison with the rest of the Cosmic Medic to protect Earth. With the discovery of the reactivated android assassin line, the Cosmic Medic falls
  • 11. into a debate over whether or not they should use the androids, as many of them fear they might rebel. Serine states their options: if they fight Soros with their current numbers, they will all die; if they fight Soros with the android assassin line, they’ll have a chance in numbers, and they can at least gamble on the thought that the androids won’t rebel. The Cosmic Medic goes through with her plan, though many think that they’re just delaying their deaths. During the debate, Karp breaks away and contact Soros to warn him about the impending threat of the android assassin line. Soros is very impressed with the fact that Serine managed to create an army in such a short amount of time. He tells Karp to stick with the plan and remain undercover until the battle. News of an approaching invasion reaches Team Earth first generation, and Cyrus, Miranda, Jacob, Amie, and Dameon all gather for a meeting to decide what course of action to take. In the end it is decided that this is their planet, and they have to do whatever they can to help their children protect it. As the homecoming football game begins for Lake View, Rick and Allegra begin to “bond” in an awkward sort of way. Allegra is beautiful, but she is also downright weird. Jade and Eli have their own fun watching the game, while Avery and Kaleen spend their time at the food stand (it’s mostly just Avery stuffing himself). This is one of those fun times when the group gets to act like normal teenagers and just enjoy life. Unfortunately their fun is cut short three quarters into the game; however Rick is more than happy to get away from Allegra. Serine contacts the group and warns them about Soros’s approach. When they find out that the invasion is on the homecoming dance, their dates with each other turn into battle missions. Both the Cosmic Medic and Soros spend the night reinforcing their gear. As school starts the next day, Team Earth counts down the moments to the start of homecoming and Soros’s invasion. As a member of the homecoming committee, Kaleen spends the second half of the day in the gymnasium setting up for the dance. The rest of Team Earth wonders why she bothers, since it will be cut short when the invasion arrives. Kaleen still hopes that they can have a dance after the invasion. Just as the school day ends, Soros sends a small legion of prayers and sky vipers down to Chicago to attack Lake View at night and kill Team Earth. As the dance begins, Team Earth arrives and waits for a summons from Serine. They dance for a good forty minutes before Soros’s creatures attack Lake View. Students and faculty scatter while Team Earth holds the prayers and sky vipers off. Everyone is in awe as the five teenagers grapple with the beasts. The police arrive to subdue Soros’s creatures, but they are of no help. The only match against them is the power of Team Earth. In only a short time however, the Cosmic Medic arrives above the Earth in three carrier ships, and Serine opens a wormhole right above Team Earth’s head. Team Earth is sucked into her carrier ship, and without them, Chicago falls to Soros’s creatures. All its citizens are placed under lockdown. At that moment, Soros arrives just in front of the Cosmic Medic’s fleet in the upper atmosphere, and he is more than ready for battle. Soros unleashes a swarm of infected streakers, which he calls rays, to attack the Medic fleet. The rays are piloted by prayers. Serine responds by unleashing the android assassin line to combat the rays in an aerial battle. AA690 looks down at his former brothers before leaping out of his carrier into the battle to put a dent in the android assassin population.
  • 12. The rest of the Cosmic Medic flies into the battle on their streakers and jetcycles, blasting as many rays out of the skies as they can. Avery and Rick lead an army of androids down to Chicago to liberate the city, while Eli, Kaleen, Jade, and Medic agents Reevis, Valkin, and Korell infiltrate an infected carrier to steal back the varanium crystal from Soros. Meanwhile, Karp breaks away from the action and heads back to his carrier to fulfill his mission, the capture of Serine. AA 690 soars through the skies, slicing through every android that he comes across. The Medic agents continue to battle against Soros’s prayer pilots using their streakers and jetcycles. A small swarm of stingers and an army of sky vipers fly in to reinforce the prayers. Several androids and Medic agents move forward to attack Soros’s warships in response. Eli, Kaleen, Jade, and the other agents soon realize that they may not be airborne for long. They move forward to locate Soros, but they run into a group of hydra leeches along the way. Karp continues to make his way through the carrier ship when he meets up with Eticus, Xyla, Maladria, and Rinjin, who have all with ease. The five arrive at the control bridge, where they meet Serine. She and Karp stare at each other eye to eye for a few moments until Soros telepathically removes the mental shield he placed on Karp over thirty-four years ago. Serine is then able to read his mind, and in just a few seconds, she evaluates the situation without uttering a single word. All five assassins engage Serine in a ferocious battle, although she proves to be quite powerful. Even though she is outnumbered five to one, she holds her own. In just a few moments, she disables Maladria and Eticus. Down below Rick and Avery lead the androids against Soros’s army in Chicago. When the armies resist their counter attack, an unexpected turn of events occurs, and Cyrus, Miranda, Jacob, Amie, and Dameon arrive to fight off the creatures. Their arrival is a major turn in the battle, and the creatures retreat back into the skies. Allegra runs up and kisses Rick on the lips. Rick stands still for an awkward moment and contemplates what just happened, then Avery drags him back onto his jetcycle and the two fly back up along with Team Earth first generation to rejoin the battle. Eli, Kaleen, and Jade are still fighting on board the warship against the hydra leeches, while Reevis, Valkin, and Korell are handling a trio of tentaculi. Outside of the ship, dozens of androids and Medic agents fire at the armor and engines. The ship begins to lose altitude. Eli continues to move forward through the ship to locate Soros while Kaleen, Jade, and the other agents hold off the remaining creatures. Back outside, AA 690 is still battling against the Medic’s forces when he spots Avery, Rick and Team Earth first generation on their jetcycles. AA 690 dives, preparing to attack from above. Rick and his parents fly away and into the battle as Avery fires an arrow from his bow. AA 690 dodges it, and begins to fire down on Team Earth first generation, but they scatter throughout the sky and fly off in their own separate ways. AA 690 goes after Avery. After several dodges, Avery loads his bow and channels his suit’s telekinetic power into the arrow to give it an extra push. He fires the arrow at AA 690, who blocks it with an energy shield, although he cannot cancel out the telekinetic force. AA 690 is sent flying backward into a swarm of other androids. He is carried off and pinned against the side of a carrier by his former brothers. The commanding android AA360 hovers before him. He speaks in an almighty tone “You’re the one who caused the Medic to seal us away, while you got away free. Did you think we wouldn’t take it
  • 13. personally? ” The commander pins AA 690’s torso to a carrier while his brothers severe his arms and legs. When all that is left is the head and chest, the commander decapitates him. His arms, legs, and chest are thrown out of the sky, and all that remains is his talking head. AA 690 looks at the commander with a blank expression on his face. After several seconds, the commander chucks his head into the air and blasts it to bits. Inside the Medic’s carrier, Serine is taking on Karp, Xyla, and Rinjin all at the same time. As she gradually tires out Serine makes an attempt to escape, but Karp blocks her off in order to keep their battle private. Serine blocks off several energized attacks from Rinjin and Xyla, and uses her visual psychic power to send Xyla to sleep. She also binds Rinjin with an energy rope. Karp lunges at Serine and the two of them exchange blows. The battle comes to a standstill when both of them wind up in a beam lock. The two push their energies to their limits to see which beam will gain the upper hand. As the battle outside rages on, the sun begins to rise. Inside of the warship, Eli makes it to the command bridge and meets Soros face to face. Soros unveils the varanium crystal, and the two begin to battle for it. While they duel each other, the light from the rising sun gradually grants the crystal power. Soros decides to take the battle to the upper deck to feed the crystal. Eli follows him, and the two soon find themselves in a crossfire. Medic streakers and android assassins fire at the warship in order to knock it out of the sky. The ship begins to tilt and the two of them are soon fighting on a slope. The crystal absorbs more and more power from the sun. Soros knocks Eli down, and he tumbles to the bottom of the ship just above the engines. Soros announces out loud that the battle and the Earth have come to an end. The sun turns from yellow to red, and then from red to brown. As the crystal becomes fully charged, Soros throws it overboard, and sends it plummeting to the Earth below to unleash a supernova on impact. Avery dives down after it on his jetcycle. The crystal begins to gain speed as it falls, but Avery uses his wrist projector to create a wormhole. He flies through the wormhole and appears just below the crystal, catching it as it falls toward him. He then focuses some of the crystal’s solar power into a concentrated beam that obliterates the warship’s engines. Kaleen, Jade, Valkin, and Korell manage to make it to the top of the ship and meet up with Eli just as the ship begins to fall. The five of them fly off on their jetcycles, and Avery returns the absorbed energy to the sun in a concentrated blast, just as their parents did so many years ago. Soros leaps off of the broken ship and soars off to his second carrier. He says to himself that the battle wasn’t a total loss. As he contemplates this thought, Serine finally gives in to Karp’s power, and her energy beam is sent soaring right back to her. The beam strikes her square in the chest, knocking her out cold. Karp then communicates with Soros telepathically, stating that Serine has been captured. With that note, Soros pulls back all his forces. The last two warships, the rays, his creatures, and his four remaining lieutenants are all sucked into a wormhole along with Serine’s unconscious body, bringing the invasion to an end, although the capture of Serine leaves little reason for the Medic to celebrate. Notable casualties include Reevis and Meroin. Team Earth meets up with their parents later on, who congratulate them on what a great job they did in saving the planet. Later the next night, the school resumes the homecoming dance, and everyone shakes loose after the intense battle that just took place. Jade and Eli make out under a tree, and Kaleen and Avery find a nice quiet spot to hangout by the school pool. Rick
  • 14. decides that as long as he is living, he might as well live life to the fullest and dance with a girl, so he finally lets go of the past and shakes it up on the dance floor with the other girls. Everyone sees him and the rest of Team Earth as heroes, and he is now more popular than ever. Outside of the dance, Eli and Jade don’t get a lot of alone time, and neither do Avery and Kaleen. An inrushing crowd of adoring fans who want stories about their adventures spoils their moments. Now, Team Earth realizes that things may never be the same. The New Order Story Arc The invasion is over, and the Cosmic Medic is left in depression. Serine is missing and the Medic is left without a leader. As the head of the Crellian council, Karp is the one to take control of the organization. The whereabouts of Serine remain a mystery to the Medic, and no one suspects Karp. The android assassin line begins to form a relation with the Medic agents; some begin to trust them, while others are still weary. The varanium crystal is returned to Simmeral, and the Medic is able to use it as their capital base once more. Rexis Ravala is still unconscious from Soros’s mental assault. Karp decides to keep him at Marinum where he says he’ll be safer, although there are fewer agents at Marinum than there are at Simmeral. Back home, the members of Team Earth are hailed as heroes, and everyone in the United States is soon made aware of the existence of the Cosmic Medic. The decision is made to broadcast the news out to the world, and Team Earth is to explain the whole story and situation live on January 17th , 2010. Eli, Kaleen, Avery, Jade, and Rick are all given special treatment by their friends and teachers, but their parents demand that they don’t give into any of it. Rick and Avery are thrilled to finally be rewarded for all of the great deeds that they’ve accomplished, but the others start to worry about where all of this glory may lead. Soon the military begins to upgrade its defense force in order to prepare for another possible invasion, and much of the country’s population is thrown into anarchy at the very idea of an apocalypse. Kaleen and Eli wonder if letting the world know of the Medic’s existence is the right thing to do. Avery and Rick try to enjoy the fame that they’re given, but soon they to agree that this has gone too far. Eventually the entire country is sucked into a state of fear and defense. When Team Earth is unsure of what to do, they turn to their parents for guidance, who remind them that fame is never easy, and that sometimes things like these need to remain in the dark for the greater good. Team Earth first generation convenes together on top of a skyscraper to decide what course of action to take against this national panic storm. After some debate, they conclude that the secret function of the wrist projector was made for just such an occasion on a planet like ours. So the parents decide to allow their children to discover the secret of the wrist projector for themselves. As they return home, they all get a sense of déjà vu that this issue has happened before. Meanwhile, Soros and his forces arrive in The Crevice to recuperate from the invasion. He discusses with his four remaining lieutenants what the next course of action would be. His main concern is Rexis Ravala, who still possesses knowledge of Amara Alore. He is one of the few beings in the universe who knows of its existence, and Soros does not plan on letting the Cosmic Medic discover it as well. Also, the loss of AA 690 is viewed as a tragic setback, and Soros demands that his troops work double time to make
  • 15. up for it. Serine is kept in a containment field on board one of the warships. She wonders why Soros doesn’t kill her and how Karp evaded detection for so long. She wonders a lot of things. Back at Marinum, Rexis is still unconscious, though he is plagued by terrible visions and flashbacks of when he created Soros, when Soros rebelled, and when he destroyed Scystice. These nightmarish visions eventually snap him awake; however he is still very weak. As he regains mobility, Rexis slowly begins to walk through Marinum and explore its interior. As he walks, he flashes back to the time when he contacted Serine, and convinced her to form the Cosmic Medic over thirty-four years ago. At the newly restored Simmeral, Karp is secretly communicating with Soros through his wrist projector, and the two discuss the current situation. Karp reports that stealing the varanium crystal again would be a suicide mission with all of the enhanced protection it has been given. Soros informs him that the varanium crystal is not his main objective, and that he only wants Rexis dead before the Cosmic Medic can interrogate him. Karp volunteers to personally enter Marinum and kill Rexis, but Soros forbids him from doing so, preferring him to remain undercover; he is however ordered to contact Soros should Team Earth ever set foot in Simmeral. Karp is overheard by Searium from Team Parlena, and she has the guts to face him head on. Searium creeps into Karp’s chamber and launches a surprise attack at Karp. The attack is a success and Karp is thrown to the ground. Searium attempts to capture Karp, but Karp baits her with the idea that he killed Serine. This causes her to lose control and forget about capturing him. She lunges at him like a wild rhinoceros, but Karp easily able disables her with an energy blast. He creates a wormhole and damages her wrist projector beyond projection capability. She is thrown into the wormhole and dumped on the ice planet Polaris. Karp traps her there and leaves her to freeze, expecting her to die in just a few days; he vastly underestimates her survival skills, and she holds on for several weeks. Two weeks later, Team Earth arrives at Simmeral, and begins searching for anything that might help them clear the knowledge of the Cosmic Medic on Earth before the interview. They think that if intergalactic travel is easily achieved through wormhole generation, then destruction of memory should be fairly easy to come across. Jade discovers the schematics for the wrist projector inside of the Medic’s chief databank. She downloads them onto her own wrist projector, but Karp is watching them alone from Simmeral’s security monitors. He sends a telepathic notice to Soros of their arrival at Simmeral, and Soros sends a group of five tentaculi to deal with them. As Team Earth leaves Simmeral, they are ambushed by the tentaculi. They hack through a thicket of fifty tentacles. Eli and Rick are able to evaporate two of them through mass energy blasts. Jade, Kaleen, and Avery defeat the other three by sending them through a wormhole and onto the surface of a sun star. Soros sends in three sky vipers to finish the job. This puts Team Earth on the run, and they fly off on their jetcycles, but the sky vipers follow. After a chase through the mountains, Team Earth shoots two of the sky vipers down and loses the last one through a wormhole. Team Earth’s incident during their last visit to Simmeral gives the Medic an uneasy feeling about a double agent leaking information. A few of the Medic agents also begin to notice Searium’s mysterious disappearance. Fortunately for Team Earth, the trip to Simmeral wasn’t a total waste. After a week of reviewing the schematics and toiling with their wrist projectors, they discover a secret frequency imbedded inside that has the
  • 16. power to wipe out one’s memory. They test the frequency and find that it could be broadcasted through television channels and radio stations. Team Earth devises a plan to wipe out everyone’s’ memory of the Cosmic Medic during their interview, which is in less than three days. Meanwhile, Searium is constantly struggling to survive on Polaris. She is able to find shelter in an ice cave and use her hunting skills to find food; however her biological energies begin to run low, leaving little power for her suit to run on. She soon gives up on surviving and focuses the rest of her energy on repairing her wrist projector so she can at least warn the Medic about Karp. She succeeds in restoring a limited communications feature on her wrist projector called cosmic plot code, in which she can give the planet coordinates and the latitude and longitude. She sends these coordinates to her teammates Havix and Indus, who finally figure out where she is. The two of them work together to organize a search squad consisting of Team Polaris and Team Earth. Karp secretly becomes aware of their motives, and immediately contacts Soros. Realizing that Karp’s cover will soon be broken, Soros sends Eticus and Xyla along with an army of phages and stingers in order to hunt Searium down and kill her before she is rescued. Both sides arrive on Polaris at the same moment and begin searching the coordinated area for her location. Searium is only five miles away from them, and spots the blue halo of their wormhole as it closes in the distance. She makes her way across a frozen bay area to the other side in hopes of meeting up with her comrades. It is at this moment that Soros decides to cover up his second secret. He reveals to Serine the reason why she is still alive, saying that her talents would be too much of a waste to dispose of. Soros possesses Serine’s mind and body to increase his own dark powers with her psychic abilities. He travels in Serine’s body with Maladria and Rinjin to Aria along with an army of tentaculi, hydra leeches, and urchins in order to assassinate Rexis while he is still weak. They all arrive just outside of Marinum in diving suits, but before the invasion, they must penetrate its energy shield to enter the base. The army begins firing at the shield to bring it down. The only team protecting Marinum is Team Aria. Nonetheless they mount the base’s defense turrets and fire at the army from safely inside the shield, but it doesn’t hold forever. Soros is able to break the shield with a telekinetic blow. Team Aria holds their ground against the enemy for as long as possible but Soros is too strong when imbedded in Serine’s body. They send a distress call to all Medic agents within range before traveling deep into the confines of the base. Back on Polaris, the search team comes in contact with a group of phages and they realize that Soros is also searching for Searium. After dispatching the phages, they decide to split up. Suddenly, each agent receives the distress call sent from Marinum. After some deliberation, Avery, Kaleen, and Jade decide to head to Marinum while the others stay behind to search for Searium. The three of them travel by wormhole and arrive inside of the giant glass sphere surrounding the base. Soros and his army penetrate Marinum by wormhole at the exact same time that Team Earth arrives. They begin searching Marinum for Rexis. Team Earth runs into Team Aria, and they are updated on the situation at hand. When they arrive inside of Marinum’s infirmary, they realize that Rexis is gone; Soros discovers this as well. Both sides are stunned at Rexis’s disappearance, but on the bright side the Medic finally
  • 17. discovers where Serine is. Neither side hesitates to attack the other, and so the battle begins. Back on Polaris, Searium is barely clinging to life as she climbs up an enormous glacier situated over the bay. After a deep breath, she releases the last of her useable energy into an enormous beam of light, hoping that one of the Medic agents will spot it. All three Medic teams notice the blast and head towards the glacier to rescue Searium. Eticus also notices the blast, and heads toward the glacier to silence Searium. He reaches Searium first and prepares to kill her; with no energy left, Searium is completely defenseless. Inside Marinum, the battle has moved into the central gathering chamber. Azra of Team Aria activates over three-dozen android assassins locked in stasis and orders them to search for Rexis Revala and protect him from the invasion forces by any means necessary. She dismisses the androids and sends them soaring through Marinum. They shoot down and slice through every alien creature they come across, becoming a major turning point in the battle. Team Earth find themselves outmatched by Soros’s newfound psychic powers and his forces push them to the brink of death, but just as he is about to kill them, he is paralyzed. Back on Polaris, Rick and Eli are almost at the glacier when they find themselves under fire from Xyla and a swarm of stingers. Eli moves on ahead to the glacier while Rick stays behind to lead Xyla and her swarm away. He draws her into a snowstorm, where the swarm’s wings become frozen. The stingers are grounded due to wing icing, and Rick loses Xyla in the hellish blizzard. At the glacier, Eticus is just about to kill Searium when Eli swings in on his jetcycle and blocks his attack. The two of them stand face to face with each other as Eli flashes back to the happy times he had with Eticus as Allan Piper, before he knew the truth. After a moment of silence, the two former friends engage in an epic duel atop of the glacier for Searium’s life. Rick rendezvous with Team Polaris and Team Parlena on his way to the glacier. Back at Marinum, Soros is having a bipolar moment. Although he was able to make use of Serine’s powers, he finds her mind too difficult to tame and she regains control. Soros tries to contain her but she resumes power, and after a short mental battle he is ejected out of her body. With her mind free once again, Serine, Team Earth, and Team Aria engage Soros’s creatures on an even playing field, but the battle turns into a standstill when Rexis sets foot into the chamber. Soros sets Rinjin, Maladria, and every one of his creatures on Rexis, but they are quickly disabled with his various visionary powers. Rexis fires his laser vision at Soros, who matches it with his own. Both almighty beings engage in a visionary battle that is soon joined by Serine. Outmatched by Rexis’s eyes and Serine’s psychic powers, Soros flees the planet along with what remains of his army. While the battle of Marinum is over, the one on Polaris rages on. Eli and Eticus are still battling atop the glacier when Rick finally arrives along with Team Polaris and Team Parlena. Searium’s is comforted by the fact that her own team went to all this trouble to rescue her. The six able-bodied Medic agents combine their strengths and energies against Eticus in order to bring him down. He holds on for as long as he can, but he is overpowered and blasted off the edge of the glacier by Eli; he falls over seventy feet until he smashes into the frozen sea below. While Team Polaris and Team Parlena escort
  • 18. Searium through a wormhole, Eli and Rick head down below to finish off Eticus. At the bottom of the glacier, the two look down at the paralyzed toad, who glares at them with hatred; however he does hold a feeling of freedom and relief in his expression, and after so many decades of causing pain and death to others, he got one chance to learn the meaning of true friendship before his death. Eli sends a series of energy currents through the ice, shattering the portion beneath Eticus and sending him sinking into the cold frozen sea below. Eli knows that Eticus could have evaded his fall, but he hesitated right in the middle of Eli’s attack. It is hinted that after so many years of friendship, Eticus just couldn’t bring himself to kill his former friend. When Eli discusses this with his father Cyrus, Cyrus says that friendship can drastically change one’s character, even if they’re afraid to admit it. Eli thinks this idea over with Rick, who suddenly remembers Xyla, and asks Eli what true love could do to a person; Eli doesn’t have an answer. Two days later, Team Earth sits through their live interview in America, set to broadcast out to the rest of the world in a matter of hours. After answering all questions given to them, they insert earplugs and send a frequency out through their wrist projectors on live television, successfully wiping out the memory of the Cosmic Medic in every single viewer, and there were more people watching their interview than the super bowl. They also use the frequency to wipe away all records and memories on the case of the missing Team Soros in order to get the authorities off of their backs. Of course records of the original Guilds, Ordu, and Krames will still exist, but not with any connection to them. This renders Team Earth as nothing more than average teenagers living a daily life. Only those who got the memo about Team Earth’s plan kept their memory, namely their parents, who meet up the next day to discuss just how ironically history can repeat itself. Apparently they went through a similar ordeal after the Battle of the Himalayas over thirty-one years ago, and under Serine’s orders, they used the same technique to wipe out all knowledge of the Cosmic Medic on the planet. Back in Marinum, after questioning a revived Searium, the Medic figures out the truth about Karp, but when several agents march into Simmeral to apprehend him, he is nowhere to be found. Karp has vanished from sight, and it is safe to assume that he has gone back to relay information to Soros. Karp is able to give Soros useful information on the Cosmic Medic, and Soros makes him a permanent member of his team in order to replace Eticus. On January 21st , 2010, Rexis sends his own summons to every member of the Cosmic Medic to gather at Simmeral. Once they all arrive, Rexis announces that he is about to share his knowledge and secrets with the rest of the Cosmic Medic. For his first order of business, Rexis explains his historical knowledge of Soros and the beginning of the war. The Medic finds out that he was the lead scientist in creating Soros, and that it was he who convinced Serine to create the Cosmic Medic in order to fight back against his mistake. This gives Serine and the rest of the Medic cause to grant him the title of co- founder and second in command. Second and most important of all, the truth about Soros’s intentions is finally revealed, and the Cosmic Medic learns about Amara Alore. In Terrakai tongue, it literally means “Core Star”. It is the starting point of the big bang, the absolute center of the universe, and the heart of the invisible energy network that spans throughout the cosmos. Originally Amara Alore was thought by most to be a myth; it was discovered by the
  • 19. Terrakai race, but kept secret from outside systems. Its existence only escaped Scystice in the form of stories and legends. Only the Terrakai who discovered Amara Alore new of its location, and that secret went to the grave with them. Now Soros seeks the core star, for it acts as the natural control panel to all energy in the universe. Should he infect it, the result will be a universal infection through the energy network, and Soros will essentially become a god. The search for Amara Alore has now begun, at stake: a universe. The Cosmos Map Story Arc With all answers to the past, and the future hanging by a thread, the Cosmic Medic begins a universal race against Soros to locate any information that they can on Amara Alore. Various Medic agents begin tunneling through the universe from galaxy to galaxy on a scavenger hunt, while Soros sends his armies out to attack and raid innocent planets. By February 25, 2010, Team Romanon discovers a secretly built Terrakai data library in the catacombs of Teserell, the capitol city of Crelis, Serine’s home planet. Rexis states that the Terrakai built many data libraries all over the universe to keep their vast knowledge away from unwanted seekers. With the discovery of the library, Serine has Rexis gather the members of Team Romanon and prepare to leave for Crelis, when he is stopped by Eli and Rick, who beg to go with them; after some deliberation, Rexis accepts, and all seven of them leave for Crelis. The reason that Eli and Rick want to go is mostly for the wellbeing of Xyla. Both boys have been thinking back to their last battle with Eticus, and how they saw his hesitation that led to death. Rick realizes that if Eli’s friendship with Eticus caused a certain change of heart, then maybe his love for Xyla and Kaleen’s friendship did the same thing. Eli and Rick wish to go in hopes that they’ll run into Soros’s forces along the way, including Xyla. Although Eli states that the odds of running into her at this particular time on Crelis are very low, Rick decides to take a chance. The group arrives on Crelis and begins to search Teserell for the entrance to the catacombs. Upon their arrival, two prayers spot them. They contact Soros telepathically about the Medic’s presence and he pulls the prayers into The Crevice with his wrist projector. Rexis, Eli, and Rick become aware of their leave, and Rick is somewhat satisfied now that Soros may be on his way with Xyla. Upon hearing about the Medic’s arrival on Crelis, Soros puts together his own search team; the team consists of him, Xyla, Karp, and eight prayers. They quickly arrive on Crelis and locate the Medic search team, although Rexis becomes aware of their presence. The Medic search team soon finds an entrance to the catacombs, and starts to head towards the library. After walking through a long shaft of tunnels, they find it standing in the center of a large chamber. Upon entering the library, the Medic begins to search around for information; little do they know that Soros and his forces have already beaten them inside. While most of them wait in hiding, Xyla creeps through the library using her camouflage ability. She stalks them all, waiting for one of them to come across a few answers before she kills them. When she creeps near Rick, he strikes her down with an energy blast and pulls her into The Crevice through a wormhole. After he gets her to stay still for a minute, the two of them begin to talk heart to heart for a change. Back in the library, Rexis is busy searching for…something. What he hasn’t told anyone is that he is not just searching for information on Amara Alore, but something much bigger. At last he finds it: an unknown staff with unknown powers to anyone but
  • 20. him. It is the key to destroying Soros. In another corner of the library, Dula finds a holographic projector containing a large full-scale map of the universe. Soros notices this and launches his group of prayers on her, but Dula is fast, and flees from them on her jetcycle; the prayers follow. Soon all are aware of Soros’s presence, and a battle for the map ensues. The prayers chase Dula throughout the library but they are lured off course by the other agents, and pursue them instead. Back in The Crevice, Rick and Xyla are still arguing with each other; their dialogue goes something like this: Rick: In spite of everything that has happened over the past year, I still believe that you love me. Xyla: I never loved you. Haven’t you already figured it out? Rick: No, and I refuse to accept that. Xyla: Then you are a fool who is living in the past. It’s over; I never had a heart for you, so move on. Pause; Xyla starts to leave. Rick: When Eticus died on Polaris, Eli and I saw through his eyes for the first time. We realized that the reason Eli survived his fight with Eticus was because Eticus didn’t have the will to kill him. Xyla turns around. Xyla: What concern is this to me? Rick: After a twelve-year friendship with Eli, Eticus had a change of heart. We saw it in his eyes. Xyla: Then you saw wrong. We don’t care for these things. All that matters in this universe is power and control, and Soros is the one who has it, so we side with him! Rick (rising emotions): No, you’re wrong Xyla, and you know it. Admit the truth: during the past twelve years of friendship with Kaleen you forgot your mission, during three years of love with me you forgot you weren’t human, and when reality snapped back to you, you regretted everything! Pause. Xyla falls to her knees as if all her mistakes have been shoved back into her face. Rick: This war has brought out the truth in many of us, and for the most part, I wish I hadn’t seen any of it. Xyla: And I wish this feeling would just go away, but you’re right. You’re right about everything. I don’t have the strength to fight you anymore, but I can’t love you; my heart is just…too twisted. I…. Just then Xyla is pulled back into the library through a wormhole by Soros. She looks down at the chase going on below, and then she looks up at Soros; he looks down at her, expecting some action. Xyla reluctantly gives chase on her hover board. Rick also returns to the library and catches up with his own team. The chase continues throughout the library until the Medic agents make it to the central chamber, where they find themselves surrounded by Karp, the prayers, Xyla, and Soros. It is here that they make their last stand in the library against Soros. Team Romanon engage Karp in a battle for the cosmos map. Eli and Rick battle against the eight prayers. Soros duels against Rexis, who now wields his own unique battle staff. Xyla merely circles the chamber without firing even one attack. Soros notices this but Rexis catches
  • 21. him off guard and gains the advantage. Team Romanon breaks off of their fight with Karp, but he gives chase on his jetcycle. Eli and Rick are also able to break off from the fight after shooting down six of the prayers. They follow Karp and Team Romanon on their jetcycles, but Soros sends Xyla to tailgate them. The chase leads out of the chamber and into a separate section of the library. Karp shoots Dula’s jetcycle out of the air, but when he swoops down to grab the map, Rick shoots his down with his harpoon. Xyla and the remaining two prayers soon arrive at the scene. Both prayers swoop down for the kill, but they are easily beaten with a combination attack from Korell and Farag. When Karp commands Xyla to attack, she merely hovers over the group and stares down at them. Catching the opportunity she has given them, Rick opens up a large wormhole with his wrist projector, allowing the group to escape back to Simmeral. The last thing they hear is Karp’s scream of furry, though Rick is unsure whether or not it’s for them or for Xyla. Dula then sends a signal to Rexis’s wrist projector just after their escape, causing it to self activate and carry him away from Soros and back to Simmeral, thus ending their mission. After the Medic agents return to Simmeral, the map is uploaded into the Medic’s chief database for protection. For his part, Rexis has brought back something even more valuable than the cosmos map. The object is called the Avalon staff, a rare and powerful piece of technology created by the Terrakai after Soros rebelled. The staff was thought to be a turning point in the war against Soros, but Scystice was destroyed before it could make a difference. Rexis managed to escape from his planet with the staff and hide it on Crelis before exiling himself to Equitoris. Rexis ponders on the past and realizes that up until now, everything that he has done in his life has been a mistake. Back in The Crevice Xyla still remembers her conversation with Rick, and how her entire battle for power has been meaningless compared to the value of life. Soros and the others quickly realize a change in her character, and soon begin to question her loyalties. With so much hanging on possession of information now, Soros decides that he must obtain the cosmos map at all cost. He decides to launch an all out attack on Simmeral in order to take the map and obliterate the Cosmic Medic once and for all. Soros takes his team to a hidden war base on the forest planet Tigeria, where his forces have been repairing and reinforcing his damaged invasion army from the attack on Earth. Soros now holds an armada of seventy battleships and fifty thousand rays. He plans to attack Simmeral with only ten battleships, while saving the rest for Amara Alore in case he needs them. It is at this time that Xyla abandons Soros and turns against him. Soros sends a swarm of stingers lead by Maladria and Rinjin to kill her, but she escapes through a wormhole into Simmeral. She is quickly captured by Team Desolace and taken to Serine, who decides to execute her. Back home, Team Earth is busy dealing with their social lives. Since they are no longer famous, they don’t get the extra time off to save the planet, so that means more studying and more stuff to worry about. Kaleen and Avery begin receiving results from their college applications, while Eli, Jade, and Rick have the upcoming Winter Formal to worry about. Allegra Mildu continues to ask Rick to take her to the dance, as she believes that they have been dating since homecoming. Aside from Soros’s invasion, nothing else was wiped from her brain. Rick finally decides to tell her off and the two never speak to each other again. He announces once again that he is done with love until college, despite
  • 22. the fact that he could get any girl in school that he wanted. Jade and Eli finally get a real date for once and get to spend some alone time together touring Chicago on the night before the Winter Formal. Avery and Kaleen also have a little fun dating. Rick spends the night roaming the city alone still thinking about Xyla, the girl he will never get over. On the night of the dance, Jade and Eli don’t get a lot of time on the floor; they are interrupted by a summons from Serine informing them about Xyla’s capture. All across the universe Medic agents journey to Simmeral to witness Xyla’s execution. When Team Earth learns of her capture, Rick and Eli lead the others on a mission to rescue her. The group makes it to Simmeral in time to convince the Medic of Xyla’s new allegiance. The Medic refuses to believe that Xyla has changed sides, but they do give her a chance to speak. She warns them about the upcoming siege and Soros’s hidden base on Tigeria. While the Medic still doesn’t believe her, Xyla remains calm and relaxed. She transforms back into Rebecca Millard and gives Rick a long kiss before making her escape. The Medic activates Simmeral’s energy shield to prevent any access or departure via wormhole, but Xyla manages to hijack a streaker. After out-running several jetcycles, she flies through the shield and escapes through a wormhole. Rick is happy that Xyla made the right choice, and knows in his heart that he hasn’t seen the last of her. The Medic is still cautious about Xyla’s warning, but Serine actually trusts her one hundred percent, having read her mind before she escaped. On March 10, 2010, she sends Team Tigeria to their home planet in order to confirm Xyla’s warning. Unfortunately her words prove correct, and Soros’s newly built army is discovered. Their infiltration mission is soon compromised by the arrival of Rinjin and Karp, forcing them to flee back to Simmeral. After the Medic confirms his planned attack, Soros decides that he has spent enough time preparing his troops. On March 15, 2010, Soros departs from Tigeria along with his army and heads towards Simmeral. All Medic teams are called back to prepare for the attack. It only takes Soros one day to reach Simmeral, catching the Medic unprepared and off guard. Soros launches his forces into attack, ready to obliterate the base and obtain the cosmos map. As more and more Medic agents pour into Simmeral, Rexis activates the android assassin line to hold off Soros’s armies just outside of their perimeter. Soon all Medic teams arrive in Simmeral, and Rexis is able to activate the base’s energy shield to buy a little more time. In order to protect the cosmos map, Serine hands it to the remaining members of the Crellian council for safekeeping during the attack. She also places Jade and Eli in charge of protecting the varanium crystal, as she does not want to risk letting it fall into Soros’s hands again. After both items are left with a guardian, Serine readies the Medic for combat and sends Rexis to lead the defense. Dozens of agents mount their jetcycles, while others activate their streakers. Before long the Medic is up in the air heading towards Soros’s fleet, which is already caught in a tango with the android assassin line. Serine deactivates the shields, and the skies turn into a massive Hell storm. Meanwhile, Rinjin, Karp, and Maladria open a wormhole into Simmeral in order to infiltrate and obtain the cosmos map and destroy the base from the inside. Maladria heads towards the varanium crystal chamber, ready to obliterate Simmeral, while Karp and Rinjin head towards Simmeral’s databank systems in hopes of finding the cosmos map.
  • 23. Once Maladria enters the crystal chamber she finds herself locked in combat with Eli and Jade. At Simmeral’s central chamber, Rinjin is intercepted by Team Jyrus, forcing him to face off against his old team. Karp enters Simmeral’s data chamber alone where he finds himself ambushed by the Crellian council. Karp does a quick mind scan and realizes that they hold the cosmos map; so he engages all three of them in combat. On top of the highest tower on Simmeral, Rexis finally calls upon the secret powers of the Avalon staff. His body and biological energies are split apart, essentially turning him into a being of pure power, which is exactly what Soros consists of. With the potential to kill Soros now, Rexis flies into the battle, but not before calling on Team Aria to protect his body. With so much energy at his command, Rexis is able to destroy over thirty rays and bring down three war ships. He quickly infiltrates Soros’s warship and attacks the virus head on with no mercy or hesitation. The two entities spiral through every level of the ship, blasting each other with a barrage of energy blasts. Back at Simmeral, Soros’s armies have moved in on Team Aria and begin to attack Rexis’s body. The group uses various energy and elemental attacks to fend off each wave, only to encounter several more following. In another part of the battle, Serine uses the techno-kinetic powers given to her by her suit to activate the base’s defenses and fend off various attackers. Inside Simmeral all three battle parties have gone into full power, and each one has begun to deliver significant damage to the surrounding battlefield. Maladria tries constantly to grab hold of the varanium crystal, but Eli and Jade thwart each attempt. Rinjin’s battle against Team Jyrus has moved above the central chamber and onto the glass dome roof surrounding it. The Crellian council is combining all of their psychic energies with their suit’s energies, but even united they are outmatched against Karp’s enhanced power from Soros. The trio is pinned down and Karp locates the cosmos map by probing their minds a little deeper. He supposedly downloads the map into his brain from the database and escapes Simmeral while leaving the trio exhausted. Outside the Medic is still combating Soros’s armies. Ground teams battle against the creatures on Simmeral’s walls while sky teams and androids battle against aerial forces. Serine is using her power to aid both sides as much as possible while protecting her own body as well. She raises defense turrets, pilots several dozen streakers, and summons large cables all with her techno-kinesis. Inside the lead battleship, Soros and Rexis continue to match their powers against one and other. Just as Rexis succeeds in knocking Soros to the ground, Karp arrives though a wormhole and strikes Rexis from behind with an energy beam. Soros matches his power and Rexis is caught in between the two attacks. The combined blasts knock him out cold, and his energized form is imprisoned inside a containment field. Meanwhile, Soros’s creatures are tearing Simmeral apart piece by piece, as the Medic’s army fights in vain to protect the base. Team Aria is pushed to the edge in protecting Rexis’s body, when all of a sudden help arrives from Kaleen, Avery, and Rick. Together the group forms a perimeter around the body and fends off the oncoming creatures. Back inside Simmeral, Eli and Jade are able to harness the power of the varanium crystal to send Maladria into retreat. The two of them head to the highest point on Simmeral to use the remaining energy of crystal to ward off Soros’s assault. On top of the roof, Rinjin is losing energy against his old team. The Solarians push him to the edge when suddenly a squadron of rays fire at them from above. Rinjin takes this moment to make an escape. Team Jyrus tries to follow him, but they are caught in a
  • 24. swarm of prayers and stingers. Rinjin makes it to the other side of the roof where he escapes by hitching a ride onto a sky viper. Just as he flies off, Eli and Jade make it to the top of Simmeral. Calling on the power of the varanium crystal, they send out a massive energy wave that pushes all of Soros’s creatures into retreat (like a patronous); Rinjin however is long gone before the wave catches him. Three more of Soros’s warships are destroyed by the wave, and many rays are sent crashing into the mountains. Soros’s remaining forces board his last three warships and escape through a wormhole. The result of the battle is both fortunate, yet unfortunate for both sides. It is discovered that the map Karp had stolen was a decoy copy placed inside the data bank for just such an occasion, so the Medic still holds onto the real map. The capture of Rexis however is enough to please Soros, though he now realizes that the power of the Avalon staff is one of the few things in the universe that can destroy him, and in the possession of the Medic, he now has something to truly fear. Rexis’s body is contained in Simmeral while his mind and energies remain in the possession of Soros, and only the Avalon staff can reunite the two, an artifact which the Medic still knows very little about. As for the cosmos map, the Medic decides that keeping it locked within Simmeral’s database is not secure enough. After much debate over the subject, Serine and the Medic decide to divide the map into five separate pieces, each one implanted into the mind of one agent from five separate teams. This is to ensure maximum security and to prevent Soros from ever obtaining a full copy of the map. The five agents selected to bear the pieces are Areim of Team Cyclis, Orino of Team Jyrus, Searium of team Parlena, Farag of Team Romanon, and Avery of Team Earth. These five are charged with the task of bearing the map and keeping each piece out of Soros’s clutches, as they will soon see to in the next few months The Five Keepers Story Arc It’s March 20th , 2010, and Team Earth has many ordeals ahead of them in the next few months. First off, Kaleen and Avery have a multitude of senior activities to look forward to, such as a talent show, Prom, and Grad Night in Downtown Chicago. Avery also has to maintain some responsibility as a Map Keeper. His father Jacob keeps a close eye on him now to make sure that he isn’t targeted by any of Soros’s minions. Eli, Jade, and Rick are busy studying for college testing and completing their own schoolwork. Avery gets into college at MIT, as his experience with the Cosmic Medic has led him to develop a love of technology, while Kaleen has decided to study abroad. Both Kaleen/Avery and Eli/Jade manage to find time to date in the middle of all this stress. Team Earth has now managed to balance out their double lives. For Serine’s part, she begins to study the mysterious artifact known as the Avalon staff that Rexis brought back with him from the library. She gains a small understanding of its use and of the situation that Rexis is in, but fails to understand its true potential against Soros. She discovers a reading in the staff’s energy signature that indicates it is in use and that Rexis is still alive. After making some modifications, Serine reprograms it to be able to track the user so that the Medic can rescue Rexis. Back in The Crevice, Soros maintains full custody of Rexis’s energized form. He considers absorbing the Terrakai into his own form but then fears that Rexis might gain control of his mind just as Serine did. Instead Soros keeps Rexis alive as a bartering chip in case he has to trade something as a last resort to obtain the map. In the meantime he
  • 25. and Karp set out to discover where Serine hid it, as they both know that she wouldn’t risk destroying such valuable information. Karp returns to Simmeral with Soros hiding inside of his body. While inside Karp, Soros discovers that his powers are just as strong as they once were while in Serine’s body and that he could easily take possession of Karp. The feeling of Karp’s power is intoxicating to him, but he decides to keep this desire to himself for the moment. Karp infiltrates Simmeral using Soros’s shape shifting powers and the two of them hack into the database to find that the map is missing. Just as they are about to leave, they find themselves surrounded by Don, Nylon, and Irva of Team Polaris, who believe that Karp is only one man. They are soon in shock when Soros steps out and probes their minds in ten seconds before knocking them out cold. Soros smiles with intrigue before opening a wormhole and returning with Karp to The Crevice. Back on Earth, Rick receives a visit from Xyla while roaming the city street. She asks about the final outcome of Soros’s attack on Simmeral and Rick gives her an update on current events. The two of them meet secretly on top of a sky scraper, and Xyla warns him just how deep Soros’s hunger for power can dwell. She hypothesizes that when the Terrakai designed Soros, they made a miscalculation in his consumption purpose that grew into an infinite craving. Soros seeks Amara Alore to gain total control of the universe, but the need for control is only a surface feature, and if he infects Amara Alore, he will be able to consume everything that is reality. She trusts Rick not to let all five pieces of the map fall into Soros’s hands, for fear of a universal consumption. Xyla (disguised as Rebecca Millard) and Rick walk through town for a few hours on a date before she teleports through a wormhole to a distant part of the city. When Rick tells the rest of Team Earth that Xyla is now on their side, they are very cautious about trusting her. Kaleen herself wants to be friends with Xyla again, but part of her is still furious that she deceived her for twelve years. Rick discusses the situation with his father Davion, and Kaleen discusses it with her mother Miranda. Both parents tell their children the same thing: the problem of the matter is not trusting her; it’s trusting themselves. Rick and Kaleen spend a lot of time contemplating current events later on. Back in The Crevice, Soros informs Karp, Rinjin, and Maladria that Serine has decided to divide the map into the minds of five Medic agents from different teams. He was able to obtain this information by probing the minds of Team Polaris. Soros instructs his agents and creatures to begin the hunt for Areim, Orino, Searium, Farag, and Avery. Their orders are to capture and deliver so that Soros can extract the map data. In the middle of the meeting, an unidentifiable figure cloaked in black emerges into The Crevice and comes face to face with Soros. Karp, Maladria, and Rinjin ready their weapons but Soros commands them to stand down. He greets the new comer with enthusiasm, and the figure reveals himself to be an android assassin, but not just any android assassin. His number reads AA 970 but a quick mind scan reveals him to be infected by none other than AA 690. As it so happens, before the invasion of Earth, Soros planned for AA 690 to fake his own death so that he could infiltrate the android lines. Just before his head was blown off, he managed to upload his mind into that of AA 970 and remain undercover for the past four months. Soros kept this information secret from his other subordinates in case any of them were to betray him in that short time period, such as Xyla. The mission that AA 690 was
  • 26. given was well worth the secrecy. Soros had a big plan in the making, but in order for it to succeed, he required the frequency in which the Medic’s wrist projectors transmitted on. AA 690 was able to infiltrate the Medic, steal that frequency, and escape during the attack on Simmeral without being detected. With the frequency now downloaded onto AA690’s processing chip, Soros can use him as a median to broadcast a virus throughout the Medic’s system that scrambles all communication and destroys projection capabilities in all of their wrist projectors and other transports. This isolates every team in the Medic on their home world and renders functionality as an organization down to zero. With the Medic scattered across the universe and no one to guide them, Soros can now officially begin the hunt for the map. Each lieutenant is assigned a specific agent to track down and capture: Maladria is assigned to Searium, Rinjin is assigned to Orino, Karp is assigned Areim, AA 690 is assigned Avery, and Soros plans to go after Farag himself. For the next month the five keepers are left stranded like rats on a log ready to be picked off one by one. Team Earth is forced to be extra cautious now, and Avery is never left alone if his team can help it. On the storm planet Cyclis, Areim is the first one chased down and captured by Karp. Searium finds herself hunted down by Maladria in a game of Cat & Mouse on the savannah planet Parlena. Orino puts up a good fight against Rinjin, but he too is soon struck down and delivered to Soros. Farag does no better when faced off against Soros himself. As each keeper is captured, Serine tries in vain to repair the Medic’s network, but the virus is too deeply incorporated into the system, and she realizes that she would have to attack it at the source. As each keeper is captured, their map piece is removed from their brain by Soros and incorporated into his own. Eventually Avery is the only keeper left to capture, a fact that no one in Team Earth is aware of yet. AA 690 soon moves in on Earth, but Xyla picks up his signal when his wormhole opens, since her wrist projector is still functioning. She travels to Rick’s house to warn him about the open portal and the two of them rush to Avery to save him. AA 690 arrives before they do and Avery is stunned to find out that he is alive. The two of them square off in a short battle, which wakes up Avery’s father Jacob. He rushes in to save Avery and throws the mad android out of a window. AA 690 faces off against Jacob, who is easily able to hold his own. AA 690 traps him and Avery in a grapple and begins to choke the life out of them. Rick and Xyla arrive just in time to save them but they too are surprised to see AA 690 alive again, just as much as he is surprised to see Xyla working together with Rick. He calls her a traitor and then tells them how he faked his own death so that he could infiltrate the Medic to steal their wrist projector frequency and infect them with a virus, and how Avery is the last keeper on the list to be captured. Before he can escape, Rick uses his clones to pin him against a tree, and Xyla uses her staff to freeze him in place. She opens a wormhole with her own wrist projector and takes them back to Simmeral, but not before sending AA 690 back to The Crevice so that he won’t hurt Jacob or anyone else on Earth. He reports back to Soros who is enraged to find out that Xyla is interfering. At Simmeral the group meets Serine, who is still trying to disinfect the frequency. After updating her on the situation at hand, Xyla offers to let her use her own wrist projector to leave Simmeral, but Serine reluctantly declines. Avery and Rick then come up with the idea of switching the Medic’s wrist projector frequency to Xyla’s frequency,
  • 27. but she protests, explaining that Soros and his armies operate on that exact same one and that they would be able to listen in on them. Serine decides to take that risk, and Xyla’s wrist projector is uploaded into Simmeral’s main communications satellite. Contact in the Cosmic Medic is restored, and for a brief moment, all is well; then Soros contacts them on his frequency and congratulates them all for managing to restore communication. He also curses Xyla for interfering with his scheme. Since the Medic has restored communications, Soros offers them a deal: surrender the final piece of the map along with the Avalon staff and he will grant them access to their own frequency again. He will also surrender Rexis and the four other keepers. He gives them three hours to decide. Serine sends a summons to the other four teams belonging to the keepers to decide what course of action to take: exchange the map and the Avalon staff for the keepers, Rexis, and frequency rights, or keep the map and staff out of Soros’s hands. After much debate, it is decided abandoning a comrade is not in the Medic’s nature; so the five teams take Soros’s deal, even after Xyla repeatedly warns them that Soros would infect and consume the entire universe if he found Amara Alore, but since she is not an official member, her warnings are tossed aside. What the Medic doesn’t understand is that the Avalon staff is the key to overcoming Soros’s power and destroying him for good. Rexis gives this information to the other four keepers while the five of them remain locked in separate containment fields, as they are so curious about its importance. He tells them of its origin, and the potential it holds for ending the war (see the prequel series for an in-depth story of the staff’s creation). The other agents of the Medic aren’t aware of its true power and purpose. Back at Simmeral, when the Medic attempts to apprehend Avery and extract the map piece from his mind, Xyla sends him and Rick back to Earth before following suit. The trio arrives in Chicago but is chased down by Eli, Jade, and Kaleen. The disagreements between the two parties escalate into a full on battle, until finally the group comes to reason. Xyla warns them about Soros’s hunger cravings, and that if he has his way, the whole universe will die at his hands. After her warning, Xyla does one last thing before she leaves: she hands them a data projector in which to store the map piece once Serine extracts it from Avery’s mind. Shortly after Xyla leaves, Serine and the Crellian council arrive on Earth and ask that Avery give himself up. Team Earth presents her with the data projector (without mentioning that it belongs to Xyla), and Avery surrenders himself to Serine’s psychic powers. The final piece is extracted and placed inside the data projector. The three hour ultimatum comes to an end and Soros contacts Serine asking for the map fragment and the Avalon staff once again. Serine informs him that they will be bringing the final piece in a data projector, and demands that they meet in a neutral system. Soros agrees to her terms and sets the exchange for April 28th on the broken moon of Distum, orbiting the gas giant Palendrome. On the night before the exchange, Xyla meets with Avery and Rick to organize an assault, explaining that the data projector she handed them is hiding a bomb that will explode at the push of a button. Somehow this doesn’t surprise them. Xyla plans to rescue the captured agents and free the frequency without letting Soros take the map and staff. She says that if Soros is using AA 690 to transmit the virus, then destroying the
