hard working. Since joining Newcross in 2002, I have helped grow them to the 7

largest company
in Devon and Cornwall with a turnover approaching £100m and over 3500 employees with an IT
team of less than 5 people and less than 1% expenditure against turnover. I have been responsible
for liaising with key stakeholders, interviewing people, gathering and analysing requirements,
technical design and development to enhance business processes, implement revolutionary
business critical applications and provide 24-7 user support and system maintenance.

} Newcross Healthcare Solutions – Head of IT (July 2002 – present)
} 2016 – Developed a DNN module for Holiday authorization and management. Currently
moving to Agile software methodologies using PivotalTracker and tracking our systems
usage using MixPanel. IT team increased to 6 staff, with 3 in Help Desk support and an
additional developer.
} 2014/15 – Redeveloped and launched our myNewcross Staff and Client portals utilising
DNN (DotNetNuke) framework and Infragistics IgniteUI jQuery controls and Restful Web
services. Extra features include allowing our staff to pay for their criminal record checks
and uniforms online using a SagePay integration. ISO 27001 upgraded.
} 2013 – Migrated our virtual hosted platforms and email systems to the Cloud using
RackSpace. Developed an iPad Clinical Assessment app
} 2012 – Launched our iPhone mobile app built using Appcelerator allowing our healthcare
staff to update their availability, accept or decline shifts that they’re suitable for, view
their payslips and see which training courses they can attend. ISO 27001 compliant
} 2011 – Transferred our Accounts and Payroll procedures and data to a new Opera Pegasus
finance software package.
} 2010 – Introduced a h2desk Help Desk solution built using PHP. Converted from a MySQL
backend to MSSQL. Submit P45 and P60 to HMRC online.

} 2009 – IT Team expanded with Network manager joining us. Assisted with the
implementation of a VOIP telephone system.
} 2008 – Utilised Anoto Digital pen technology to capture hand written notes taken at
clients premises and capture staff arrival and department times for timesheet
processing.
} 2007 – Migrated our physical hosted platform in Torquay to a virtual VMWare
environment
} 2006 – Enhanced our bookings systems to incorporate a One Stop Shop offering to
manage our competitors’ bookings and an Emergency Relief On Call functionality,
ensuring a member of staff is always available at a moments notice.
} 2005 – Introduced Optical Character Recognition of timesheets using OCR for AnyDoc,
allowing timesheets to be scanned into our systems from our branch offices to a central
location and automatically invoice clients and pay staff.
} 2004 – IT team doubled in size with the addition of a senior Software developer, whom I
managed and appraised. Together we moved our Head Office and Accounting and
Payroll systems from Torquay to its current location in Totnes.
} 2003 – Designed and launched our Healthcare Staff and Client Extranet web systems,
allowing staff to update their availability, view their shifts, payslips and book onto
training courses.
} 2002 – Joined Newcross as the sole IT employee. Implemented a Microsoft Small
Business Server with an Active Directory domain, Microsoft Exchange and ISA, utilising
ADSL broadband and VPN connections across our 5 offices. Maintained and enhanced
internal business critical bespoke applications, including a Staff Resource Management
Booking system, Accounts and Payroll systems using a combination of Classic ASP,
ASP.Net and Microsoft SQL 2000.
