10. What can be done to prevent heat
stress:-
1. Avoid direct exposure to heat / sun / hot air.
2. Cover your body with cotton clothes.
3. Drink 250 ml of plain water on every ½ an hour
starting from the time of exposure to heat / sun / hot
air.
4. Avoid coffee(caffeine).
5. Cool down under fan whenever possible.
6. Take small breaks whenever feel stressed.
7. Respond and report to heat symptoms early.

Group Level
1. System to make sure each person drinks enough.
2. System to ensure enough water is available.
3. Include electrolytes.
Individual Level
1. Carry a water bottle.
2. Drink before, during, after.
3. Drink before you are thirsty.
4. Urine colour monitoring, specific gravity.

14. 1. Shift the casualty to a colder place.
2. Remove the clothes.
3. Soak the body with water.
4. Switch on the fan to make water evaporate from the
body surface leading to cool down the body
temperature.
5. Meanwhile arrange for shifting the casualty to
OHC/AE
6. Don’t try to feed water to semiconscious
/unconscious person.
7. Hospitalization and in-patient treatment.
