Making Greeting Cards from Recycled Materials – Led by Linda Gabrielson
Linda Gabrielson presented a fun and instructional program on creating greeting cards from recycled
materials. Since our program was in February, the focus was on valentines. She offers the following
suggestions for recycled materials to use in creating your cards. Remember to “think out of the box!”
BASIC MATERIALS -- GO GREEN!
1) Weekly ads (from the newspaper and mail)
2) Junk mail – e.g., Credit card offers, including the security and return envelopes
3) Text – from newspapers, phone books magazines, books, etc.
4) Paint chips (paint sample cards)
5) Dryer sheets
6) Miscellaneous product packaging – cardboard and plastics
7) Veggie nets (vegetable packaging)
8) Miscellaneous scrap paper – e.g., old party crepe paper, file folders, maps, brochures, etc.
9) Etc., etc., etc.
