Lessons Learned From My Interview
One of my interviewee was my supervisor and I had an opportunity to learn different things about my field of study from her. One of the things I
learned was the importance of connections and keeping up with different individuals in order to be aware of job opportunities.
One of the things I learned was how relationships can be crucial in gaining information and in getting exposed to job opportunities. Whether the
opportunities are advertised or not, being connected to someone with access to the job opportunity information makes a difference when it comes to
getting a job.
Likewise, apart from knowledge obtained in school, many jobs require being able and willing to learn new skills and ideas. This is because the field of

Therefore, organizations value individuals that can contribute different things to team efforts. This challenges individuals searching for jobs to be
involved and take part in different teamwork activities like group projects in order to develop team work skills.
Another thing I learned from my interview was how important it is to have a good impression on your clients and coworkers. This can be done
through the way you dress and how you interact with people regardless of who they are. Smiling and interacting politely to clients and coworkers is
very important when you are providing helpdesk services.
Willingness to learn and reflect on my mistakes is another important skill that I learned is important for helpdesk services. This is because sometimes
there will be challenging problems that I won't be able to solve and need help from my coworkers. Also, there might be a clients need that I worked
on and did not do it to their satisfaction and I might have to acknowledge it and see how I could perform better the next

Self-Critique Of A Job Interview
Daniel Valencia Professor Neil Olsen SPC 1017 4 November 2015 Self–critique of Interview In this self–critique, I will analyze my performance on the
job interview assignment that was conducted on October 28. The portions of the assignment that will be examined are the following: what I learned,
my accomplishments, deficiencies, how I can correct my deficiencies, my experience working in a group and a suggestion for improving this
assignment. The goal of this critique is to strengthen my communication behaviors for job interviews in the real world. The single most important
lesson I learned from this assignment is confidence. Applying for a job similar to trying out for a sports team, the other applicants are the competition
and you do not...show more content...
I was well aware to not speak too much because informing an interviewer more than what he or she needs to know is a fatal mistake. However, I
did the opposite of rambling. Some of my answers were too short and not concise enough. Not too far as to answer interview questions with a
simple "yes" or "no" answer, but not enough show my experience. (write something on how to fix this here). For me, working in was a more
interesting part of the assignment because I was curious to see what the other group members could deliver. Each group member brainstormed ideas
for each other. Even group members who were not responsible for creating the job ad also came up to good ideas. One suggestion to improve this
assignment would be to allow students to bring in jobs ads that require higher levels of education, nothing more than a job that required more than a
bachelor's degree; instead of jobs that someone can be hired for straight out of high school. Jobs that require higher levels of education are jobs that
college students will ultimately be searching for after graduation. (writing something) In all, with this self–critique, I explained that confidence is a
great asset for job interviews, I pointed out my accomplishments with the interview, what needed improvement and how to improve it, my experience
working in groups, and my suggestion for improving this

How To Conduct a Job Interview Essays
Conducting a job interview is the most widely used selection tool. It has proved most reliable and the employers rely on it in preference to any other
tool. It is a process designed to predict future job performance by candidate's oral responses to oral inquiries. For having a better comprehension of Job
interviewing it is proper will to go through the definitions of interview and job interview.
An interview as defined is a conversation between two people (the interviewer and the interviewees) where the interviewer put questions to the
interviewees to get information from him. Job Interview on the other hand is generally defined as a conversation between an employer and a job
candidate, where the employer evaluates a candidate for...show more content...
It is obvious as earlier discussed that job interview is not a one way process, but a bilateral one. The fact that even if the employer finds a candidate
well suited for the job and wants to hire him, unless the candidate agrees to the offer of employment the employer cannot hire him is the strongest
proof of the bilateral nature of job interview.
Job Interview Importance
Although not all employers use tests or even reference checks during the selection process, but they consider job interview as vital for making a
correct decision. Job interview helps in soliciting relevant information permissible under the law from candidate by putting questions, and listening to
the answers. The interviewer may pursue points of interest as they develop. Irrespective of industry or nature of job the interviewer will always probe
the following basic questions.
. Does the candidate have necessary skills, qualification and experience to do the job?
. Would the candidate display the right character, attributes and attitude required for the
job.
. Would the candidate adjust in the organization culture?
Job interview is the best method to know about the candidates in all relevant aspects like job knowledge, communication skills and his / her personal

Preparing for an Interview Essay
Interviewing is a selling situation. It involves the exchange of information and building of personal chemistry. It's not only what you say that's
important but how you say it. There are seven key things you can do to build a positive rapport.
Research can help build chemistry
The first step for building a rapport is to research the company in advance. If you've ever met someone who knew a lot about you, it kind of takes you
by surprise, doesn't it? It is a great way to make a positive first impression.
A friend of mine, has built a consulting business on the fact that he does research ahead of time. His clients tell him that he wins their business because
he knows a lot more about them than anyone else. So make it your...show more content...
Build chemistry by paying sincere compliments
Before the interview, read or talk to people about the company and uncover some good things to say. Somewhere in those first few minutes, find the
opportunity to pay a real compliment.
You can compliment their facilities, people, products, advertising, public relations or anything else. What ever you do, be specific. Don't just say that
people you know are impressed by the product. Talk about why they are impressed. Maybe it's that new product they added this year, or the designs
they have adapted.
By giving details, you show that you have given it some thought and that your complement is not just empty flattery.
Build chemistry in the way you answer questions
The way you answer questions has more to do with building positive chemistry than with what you say. He could use the standard...tell me about
yourself and you could begin by talking about the kind of person you, but that may not be what the interviewer is interested in. You could say, "Mr.
Jones, I'd be happy to tell you about myself, and I suppose you are most interested in my work experience."
When you self–qualify like that, you give the interviewer plenty of opportunity to respond, and to direct the conversation toward some other area, if
that's not what he or she is really interested in.
Answer questions with good, action–oriented stories. If you fail to tell a story,

Mock Interview Reflection
I did my mock interview on Thursday at 10:30 with Hallie Rathbun a career staff member at the career services center. I was very nervous because I
have never done it before. I practiced answering the questions that I found on the website with my roommates and Karen Student United Association
club adviser to help prepare me for the interview. I tried to relax as much as I could before the interview. After done with the interview, a staff
member told me that I did really well in telling a story about myself. I talked about my personal issue that motivated me to become a registered nurse.
When I answer the questions, I gave her examples, so that she could understand what I am telling her. She said she like when I talked about my
strengths and...show more content...
When I talked about the leadership role, I didn't give her specific things about what I do as a leader. The hardest question that I received was "tell
me about a time when you made a mistake and what you did to correct it." I didn't prepare the answer for this question during practices so I have to
come up with the idea to answer this question. I talked about my experiences working with the residents in the nursing home. There was a time when
I forgot to fill out the information about the residents who participate in playing bingo game and who don't. I talked to a staff member that I forgot to
fill out the information and asked her to double check the information when I give the sheet back to her. I talked to the residents before the bingo
game, filled out the information later, and gave it to a staff member. I couldn't think of any other example to explain this question.
The overall experience of mock interview was great. It turned out really well than I thought. I thought I might do badly when I answer the questions. I
worried that I will make mistakes and couldn't answer the questions during the interview. The feedbacks that I received from a staff member can help
me with my future interview preparation. Her feedbacks gave me more idea of how to answer the questions, make it more professional, and persuade

How to Ace an Interview

A good interview is vital to your scholarship application. It's an opportunity to supplement your credentials with the kind of impression that can't be
put on paper. However for most, interviews are a major source of stress. Keep the anxiety level under control by thinking ahead and following these
tips from a scholarship expert.
Before the interview you should:
Research the organization and its business sector thoroughly to get a good idea of their background – look at their web site, ensure that you are up to
date on any 'live' media issues relating to the organization. Work this information into the interview to show how serious you are about receiving the
scholarship.

Prepare yourself to make a good impression. If you need a haircut, get a haircut. If you are a nail biter, invest in a professional manicure. Select your
interview outfit with care. It may or may not be advisable to wear a suit or dress, depending upon the specific situation. However, it is always
appropriate to make sure your clothes are clean, they fit correctly and there are no loose buttons or hanging threads.
LogisticsTo top
Be sure you know where you are going and how long it will take to get there. Think about traffic flow at different times of the day.
It is really hard to concentrate on the questions you are being asked when your heart is still racing from the parking lot dash, there are rivulets of
perspiration running down your face and you have to go to the bathroom but didn't have time.

You look great. You have arrived with enough time to visit the restroom, run a comb through your hair and pick the lint from the car seat off your
clothes. You're under control.
It's probably impossible to relax under these circumstances but it may help to remember that you are here because these people think you are a
competent, qualified candidate. You earned the right to have this interview.
The panelists will use this time to get to know you better and you are working from the advantage that they are already supporters. Help them to help
you have a great interview by being as genuinely pleased to be there as you can.

Job Interview By Glenda Davis
Job interviews would have to be the most nerve racking experience to proceed through; however, it is they are a task countless of us will possibly face
at some point in life if you ever desire to consider obtaining a job. In my years of high school instructors would advise us and prepare my classmates
and I to be ready for a job interview and have an understanding of the do's and don't for a job interview. This included having to attend school well
professionally dressed and actually being interviewed. After reading an essay written by Glenda Davis titled "How to Do Well on a Job
Interview," I came to a complete understanding regarding how her advice given for a job interview is all useful and can benefit the readers. Davis
identifies a job interview as a "game" (Davis 250), which I believe it was an excellent example in which it also gives readers an idea of how
competitive it can be. Countless parts of her advice I have done myself, which has landed me a job. Aside from Davis's perspective, there are a few
key point that Davis may have missed and could have been stated in her essay, such as researching the company he or she is applying to, this allows
the interview to view the applicant as an applicant who is exceedingly interested in the company and has taken time to learn further about it. In a job
interview the simplest ideas tend to matter, this can either land you the win or the loose on that job you desire. In the end, it is significant for the
readers to know how to

Professional Interview Essay
The overall education level of the population around the world has been increasing, and more people entering the work force have a college degree.
Here are some professional employment tips to help recent college graduates to stand out when searching for a job.
"The Real World" Recent graduate students have a hard time adjusting to the "real world" because the way they behaved in college should not be
carried on to the work force. The most common mistake inexperienced job seekers make is dressing inappropriately in an interview, where first
impressions are critical. According to Tuhro, "You should dress within the appropriate parameters of the title you are interviewing for, with a touch of
personal style" (Tuhro, 2014). People judge others...show more content...
However, there are still a lot of job opportunities for people, and they need to find the correct and smart way to look for a job. People should put
effort into looking for a job and take time to prepare for the job interview. Then, during the interview they should dress appropriately and advertise
their strengths and avoid their weaknesses. Lastly, people should cover up all the private information of themselves on social media and use the
Internet as a platform to expand their network and brand themselves nicely. After doing all the tips above, people's chances for getting a job is

Interview Reflection
When conducting an interview I carefully read the contact with other. I knew I was interviewing someone from a different culture so I had to
understand the ethnic community she was from which was Hispanic. I also was very focused on the professional self–disclosure because we were
talking about a lot of personal things. I tried to humanize our relationship before I asked tough questions, this helps to create a sense of bonding. I
was also very careful of my communication style, I always wanted to ask her questions in a positive manner and I was always actively listening to her
responses. I believe reading the culturally competent interviewing was the most helpful aspect of the study when conducting the interview. the first
rules were to approach the person that you are interviewing with respect, warmth, acceptance, concern, interest and empathy because she is giving you
her time to help us with this project and also to better understand people from different backgrounds from us. The most important part of the interview
is at the beginning and we have to put the most effort in the early part of the interview to gain her trust. It also taught me to be comfortable and
defensive when conducting the interview. This is very important because you want the person you are interviewing to open up to you. It overall taught
me what to do in an interview and what not to do. The reading also taught me how to stay poised during the interview.
The reading in the social work podcast also

Tips For A Job Interview Essay
Make sure you look your best when going to a job interview. Dress to impress! This will make sure that you will have a nice haircut, very
knowledgeable about the job, and that they best portray themselves as being caring. This is where you have to fake it until you make it. Going in
so confident that there isn't a chance of one getting the job. Leaving the interview they would tell you that you should receive a call within 24
hours to 2 days or so. Four days later, you haven't received a call and when you call back you are told that the position was given to someone else.
Thinking to yourself what could you possibly have done wrong? Thinking back on who all was at the interview, it was a majority of white people and
pretty much everyone was slim and attractive. Out of like 4 other races, I was young, black and overweight.
Most jobs will not hire a person maybe because of the tattoos on his or her body or maybe the way ones dress. When becoming an employee of a job,
representing the job is also a part of the job. The way one speak, present themselves, and most definitely look is all the job is worried about.
Without being very bold and saying "you did not get the job because you're black or overweight" they just kind of find a nice way of saying you didn't
get the job because you didn't qualify. Jobs now and days are not so much diverse. The appearance, gender, or someone's race should determine how
they will perform on a job, jobs should be more diverse and open to

Reflection And Reflection Of Interview
Reflection of interview I've had quite the learning experience over the last few weeks. I had a chance to obtain valuable information and support
from my principal. I learned so much about the administration role and how difficult it can be. When I began my interview, I felt overwhelmed
and excited at the same time. My principal is also my mentor; she has been very supportive of me pursuing my dreams to be in administrator. As I
conducted my interview I learned so much about the principal's role. I asked my principal a series of questions. The questions were based on the
Interstate School Leadership Licensure Consortium Standards (ISLLC). My first question was based on educational programs. The educational
programs at any school need balance. While we live in a test results world, there needs to be a balance of focus. I look at the type of student I want
my school to produce and I surround myself with a faculty and other staffs that not only share in the mission, but also will help every student
succeed. In addition, as an administrator, I need to provide my faculty and staff with the tools and resources necessary to make everyone feel
successful. Each year the school's mission and goals needs to revisit and a plan of action needs to be executed in order to effectively manage and
improve educational programs. When asked about new teachers and veteran teachers, the principal expressed that she is very supportive of mentoring
new and veteran teachers. I think each new

What is an Interview? Essay
What is an Interview?
An interview is a conversation, which is held between two or more individuals where some questions are asked by the interviewer to obtain
information about the interviewee. When the assignment Conduct a Job Search was given to us, we were excited. This kind of project was not only to
help graduating students, like ourselves but anyone who is entering the workforce.
An interview can be one of the best experiences. The interviewing program we have developed will be taught through slides, presentation, systematic
activities, and skits. Individual folders will be handed out including pictures that will demonstrate how to wear the right clothes for the interview. The
skits that some of participants in the session...show more content...

Job Seeking
Compare to the early days, today we have the best technology and education to assist people who are seeking and preparing for the workforce. The
improvement of technologies is helping people get new ideas how to find employment and be well prepared at an interview. In this part of the
manual, it well list several methods on how to search for a job that is right for you and what to bring with you to the interview.
There are numerous ways to look for a job. Hunting for a job can be an easy task if you know what you are looking for. Most people think about how
much the employer will pay, while others prefer to work for a company where they enjoy doing that type of work. Here are some ways to find these
jobs.
1. Ads: Most companies place ads in a newspaper to look for extra help. Local ads are good for people who are looking for a job closer to home,
however if the ad does not have the job you intend to do, maybe that might

Personal Experience During an Interview Essay
When I think of the word interview I think of it as a series of questions asked from one person to another to seek information. In my previous
assessment we were asked to interview a fellow peer, on their personal experience of QIBT so far this year. We were not given any question, but
made to think of our own. As we were interviewing our peer another peer was marking us on our overall ability to interview. This piece of reflective
writing will be an explanation of what I thought my personal strengths and weaknesses were throughout my interview.
Through reflecting on my previous interview I was able to pull apart both positives and negatives aspects of my interview allowing myself time to look
into the effects that the negative...show more content...
Whilst the open ended questions allowed deeper responses as spoken about above it was also evident that these questions allowed Mary Doe to feel
comfortable throughout the interview as she was allowed to express her own open thought rather than having a written script of multiple smaller closed
ended questions. REF
The safe environment was carried through the whole interview. I concluded the interview by asking Mary Doe if she had any concerns or further
questions she would like to talk about. This continues the safe environment feel, which I created throughout the whole interview.
Once finishing the interview I recall thinking that I had forgotten one major factor within the interview, which was taking notes. This would have to
be my only major weakness that I found I had whilst interviewing Mary Doe. At the time I was so focused on eye contact, so it was really easy for
myself to just ask the questions and get lost in the answer whilst trying to figure out what question to ask next. The lack of note taking in response to
Mary Doe's answers left me forgetting to listen one hundred percent as I was switching focus to what came next. When researching how I can
improve this skill there was a lot of positive feedback on how to strengthen this skill. One that I shall be focusing on for future interviewing
opportunities is to continually jot down small phrases as spoken, any specific information that is useful

Descriptive Essay On Interview
Location
For the three interviews, I went to a coffeeshop, an apartment, and an office. I decided on going to a coffee shop for the first interview because it
was a public place and to be honest, I really wanted coffee that morning. It was a great place to feel relaxed and at home with the interview which I
believe translated into a better interview. I felt a lot more comfortable asking different questions and the interviewee felt more comfortable with
sharing information that might be considered more personal. The only compliant I would have with the coffee shop was the audio recording quality
since it was a little noisy. The second location was the apartment of the lawyer. It was one of the first times I met him so I was a little worried at first
going into his home alone but he had a nice dog and was super friendly. The home–like atmosphere made it a lot more comfortable on both ends to talk
and share information that might otherwise been held back. The audio quality was great considering it was a lot more quiet of a place. You can
really hear the difference in the quality. The final interview was in a law office close to campus. I loved how close to campus it was which made it
easy to commute to. Doing interviews in the office made it seem a lot more professional. While the interviewee was very comfortable in the office, I
was not. He was sitting behind a giant wooden desk which made things seem like he was in charge even though he was the interviewee. It made things

Job Interview
The interview process is something we have all gone through in order to get any job. It may not be our dream job but it is a job and we all have to do
this process in order to even be able to start working. In Katy Piotrowski's article "Preparing for the Job Interview: Know Thyself," she explains
everything that you need to know and not know when going to a job interview. Graduating college and having a Bachelor's degree of Science in
Nursing is what I look forward to doing in the next two years. I will be discussing myself applying for a position in the nursing department. Being the
right candidate for this RN nursing position in hospice care requires a lot of hard work and dedication, and that is why I am a good candidate for this

One of the responsibilities is doing an admission if the admission nurse is not available to do so. When doing an admission you have to make sure that
you have all of the information that is needed for insurance and to make sure the patient is going to get all of the care that they are going to need to
help keep them comfortable. Another responsibility is making sure that all of the patients have all of the medication that they need to help keep them
comfortable. Keeping patients comfortable until they pass away is what hospice does. Another responsibility that nurses have to do is to make sure
that all of the charts are up–to–date and to check for any changes in the patients. Next Piotrowski said "To think of other experiences in her
professional background that would show her as an attractive candidate for this job" (Piotrowski 2014). A way of being an attractive candidate for
the nurse position is to have a positive attitude. Having a positive attitude shows people that you love what you do and care about what you are doing.
Another way is by being a team player. Being that person that will jump in and help with whatever needs to be done is being a team

Strengths And Weaknesses Of Interview
As I went into the room, I was made felt welcomed and comfortable by the panel as they tried to ease my nerves by simply asking about how I got
there or how I was feeling. However, one of the panellists was excessive about the weather which made it a little awkward as she kept asking about it
even though she was trying to make me comfortable.
As an interviewee, I was marked either 4 or 5 for my presentation as I was well dressed because I wore smart yet casual attire for the interview. I was
also marked 5 for my communication skills by all three interviewers as they stated that there was clarity in my speech was well, I spoke well and
expanded on my answers. Moreover, I was also marked 4 and 5 by the panellists for my relevant industry experience because I took part in NCS.
Moving on, I was also given 5 on my personal interests because I was able to describe what my interests are.
As an interviewee, one of my first weakness was that I was the first person to be interviewed which frightened me a little as it was a new
experience to me since I have never taken part in an interview before. Another weakness that I faced was that I was caught off guard by one of the
panellists who repeated the same question, which I have already answered. Which I believed it to be very intimidating because it showed that she
wasn't listening to me and it made me consider that she has already decided that i wouldn't be hired henceforth, she was not interested in what I had to
say. Moreover, it

Qualities Of A Job Interview
Qualities to earn you a Job Job interview is a very important and critical part during hiring process. An applicant's qualities are evaluated based on a
company's needs. During this pre–employment process, potential employers focus on eliminating any applicant who does not meet their standards.
Fresh college graduates might find it is hard to pass through the process because they might be lacking some important qualities. If one want's to
succeed in an interview, he or she must show case certain qualities. Regardless of the interview's nature, be it in–person, phone screening, behavioral,
work sample, peer group or video conference, qualities such as, communication skills, customer intelligence, and motivation tend to be more significant
in job interviews, thus, distinguishing between a great candidate and a good one. Overly, having effective and solid communication skills is important
to make things work out easily and smoothly. It lasts a lifetime; for that reason, it is a prime factor to consider when trying engaging yourself either
through your resume, employers or companies. During the dialogue, applicants are required to present their weakness and strengths verbally. One
needs to be attentive so that he or she doesn't reply mindlessly. Since applicants are not required to write frequently, all attention should be directed in
listening and talking. Employers will seek to see whether you can communicate authentically in addition to holding a

Reflective Essay On Interview Experience
During the interview I learned various things about how a person who once was dreaming of a career worked hard to make that dream closer and
closer to reality. I always thought about jobs as boring, stressful, and tiring ways to make money to sustain one's life. But from this interview
experience I have learned that it isn't always and doesn't have to be that way. It is important for someone to pick a job they want to do, and if they
don't like it, that's okay as long as they are willing to obtain that burning determination and motivation to study and develop different variety of
newly introduced skills to accomplish what they want to do for a living. I realized that working in a job that you don't enjoy doing isn't
necessarily bad. Different jobs require different skills and knowledge in different fields/areas. A person who switched jobs multiple times (not
because they got fired) has a higher possibility of having more skills and experiences on different types of work, which causes the gap between the
doors of opportunity to widen, enabling that person to choose from a wide variety of different job options that they want to do and be content with.
From a student's' point of view, just the thought of getting into a job that you dream of seems difficult and challenging. When we look at what we
want to do when we grow up, we see a long road ahead of us with constant obstacles of traffic jam (you have to compete with different people who are
closer to the destination than you

Lessons Learned From My Interview

  • 1. Lessons Learned From My Interview One of my interviewee was my supervisor and I had an opportunity to learn different things about my field of study from her. One of the things I learned was the importance of connections and keeping up with different individuals in order to be aware of job opportunities. One of the things I learned was how relationships can be crucial in gaining information and in getting exposed to job opportunities. Whether the opportunities are advertised or not, being connected to someone with access to the job opportunity information makes a difference when it comes to getting a job. Likewise, apart from knowledge obtained in school, many jobs require being able and willing to learn new skills and ideas. This is because the field of computer...show more content... Therefore, organizations value individuals that can contribute different things to team efforts. This challenges individuals searching for jobs to be involved and take part in different teamwork activities like group projects in order to develop team work skills. Another thing I learned from my interview was how important it is to have a good impression on your clients and coworkers. This can be done through the way you dress and how you interact with people regardless of who they are. Smiling and interacting politely to clients and coworkers is very important when you are providing helpdesk services. Willingness to learn and reflect on my mistakes is another important skill that I learned is important for helpdesk services. This is because sometimes there will be challenging problems that I won't be able to solve and need help from my coworkers. Also, there might be a clients need that I worked on and did not do it to their satisfaction and I might have to acknowledge it and see how I could perform better the next Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Self-Critique Of A Job Interview Daniel Valencia Professor Neil Olsen SPC 1017 4 November 2015 Self–critique of Interview In this self–critique, I will analyze my performance on the job interview assignment that was conducted on October 28. The portions of the assignment that will be examined are the following: what I learned, my accomplishments, deficiencies, how I can correct my deficiencies, my experience working in a group and a suggestion for improving this assignment. The goal of this critique is to strengthen my communication behaviors for job interviews in the real world. The single most important lesson I learned from this assignment is confidence. Applying for a job similar to trying out for a sports team, the other applicants are the competition and you do not...show more content... I was well aware to not speak too much because informing an interviewer more than what he or she needs to know is a fatal mistake. However, I did the opposite of rambling. Some of my answers were too short and not concise enough. Not too far as to answer interview questions with a simple "yes" or "no" answer, but not enough show my experience. (write something on how to fix this here). For me, working in was a more interesting part of the assignment because I was curious to see what the other group members could deliver. Each group member brainstormed ideas for each other. Even group members who were not responsible for creating the job ad also came up to good ideas. One suggestion to improve this assignment would be to allow students to bring in jobs ads that require higher levels of education, nothing more than a job that required more than a bachelor's degree; instead of jobs that someone can be hired for straight out of high school. Jobs that require higher levels of education are jobs that college students will ultimately be searching for after graduation. (writing something) In all, with this self–critique, I explained that confidence is a great asset for job interviews, I pointed out my accomplishments with the interview, what needed improvement and how to improve it, my experience working in groups, and my suggestion for improving this Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. How To Conduct a Job Interview Essays Conducting a job interview is the most widely used selection tool. It has proved most reliable and the employers rely on it in preference to any other tool. It is a process designed to predict future job performance by candidate's oral responses to oral inquiries. For having a better comprehension of Job interviewing it is proper will to go through the definitions of interview and job interview. An interview as defined is a conversation between two people (the interviewer and the interviewees) where the interviewer put questions to the interviewees to get information from him. Job Interview on the other hand is generally defined as a conversation between an employer and a job candidate, where the employer evaluates a candidate for...show more content... It is obvious as earlier discussed that job interview is not a one way process, but a bilateral one. The fact that even if the employer finds a candidate well suited for the job and wants to hire him, unless the candidate agrees to the offer of employment the employer cannot hire him is the strongest proof of the bilateral nature of job interview. Job Interview Importance Although not all employers use tests or even reference checks during the selection process, but they consider job interview as vital for making a correct decision. Job interview helps in soliciting relevant information permissible under the law from candidate by putting questions, and listening to the answers. The interviewer may pursue points of interest as they develop. Irrespective of industry or nature of job the interviewer will always probe the following basic questions. . Does the candidate have necessary skills, qualification and experience to do the job? . Would the candidate display the right character, attributes and attitude required for the job. . Would the candidate adjust in the organization culture?

  • 5. Preparing for an Interview Essay Interviewing is a selling situation. It involves the exchange of information and building of personal chemistry. It's not only what you say that's important but how you say it. There are seven key things you can do to build a positive rapport. Research can help build chemistry The first step for building a rapport is to research the company in advance. If you've ever met someone who knew a lot about you, it kind of takes you by surprise, doesn't it? It is a great way to make a positive first impression. A friend of mine, has built a consulting business on the fact that he does research ahead of time. His clients tell him that he wins their business because he knows a lot more about them than anyone else. So make it your...show more content... Build chemistry by paying sincere compliments Before the interview, read or talk to people about the company and uncover some good things to say. Somewhere in those first few minutes, find the opportunity to pay a real compliment. You can compliment their facilities, people, products, advertising, public relations or anything else. What ever you do, be specific. Don't just say that people you know are impressed by the product. Talk about why they are impressed. Maybe it's that new product they added this year, or the designs they have adapted. By giving details, you show that you have given it some thought and that your complement is not just empty flattery. Build chemistry in the way you answer questions The way you answer questions has more to do with building positive chemistry than with what you say. He could use the standard...tell me about yourself and you could begin by talking about the kind of person you, but that may not be what the interviewer is interested in. You could say, "Mr. Jones, I'd be happy to tell you about myself, and I suppose you are most interested in my work experience."
  • 6. When you self–qualify like that, you give the interviewer plenty of opportunity to respond, and to direct the conversation toward some other area, if that's not what he or she is really interested in. I was very nervous because I have never done it before. I practiced answering the questions that I found on the website with my roommates and Karen Student United Association club adviser to help prepare me for the interview. I tried to relax as much as I could before the interview. After done with the interview, a staff member told me that I did really well in telling a story about myself. I talked about my personal issue that motivated me to become a registered nurse. When I answer the questions, I gave her examples, so that she could understand what I am telling her. She said she like when I talked about my strengths and...show more content... When I talked about the leadership role, I didn't give her specific things about what I do as a leader. The hardest question that I received was "tell me about a time when you made a mistake and what you did to correct it." I didn't prepare the answer for this question during practices so I have to come up with the idea to answer this question. I talked about my experiences working with the residents in the nursing home. There was a time when I forgot to fill out the information about the residents who participate in playing bingo game and who don't. I talked to a staff member that I forgot to fill out the information and asked her to double check the information when I give the sheet back to her. I talked to the residents before the bingo game, filled out the information later, and gave it to a staff member. I couldn't think of any other example to explain this question. The overall experience of mock interview was great. It turned out really well than I thought. I thought I might do badly when I answer the questions. I worried that I will make mistakes and couldn't answer the questions during the interview. The feedbacks that I received from a staff member can help me with my future interview preparation. Her feedbacks gave me more idea of how to answer the questions, make it more professional, and persuade Get more content on HelpWriting.net

It's an opportunity to supplement your credentials with the kind of impression that can't be put on paper. However for most, interviews are a major source of stress. Keep the anxiety level under control by thinking ahead and following these tips from a scholarship expert. Before the interview you should: Research the organization and its business sector thoroughly to get a good idea of their background – look at their web site, ensure that you are up to date on any 'live' media issues relating to the organization. However, it is always appropriate to make sure your clothes are clean, they fit correctly and there are no loose buttons or hanging threads. LogisticsTo top Be sure you know where you are going and how long it will take to get there. Think about traffic flow at different times of the day. It is really hard to concentrate on the questions you are being asked when your heart is still racing from the parking lot dash, there are rivulets of perspiration running down your face and you have to go to the bathroom but didn't have time. It's probably impossible to relax under these circumstances but it may help to remember that you are here because these people think you are a competent, qualified candidate. You earned the right to have this interview. The panelists will use this time to get to know you better and you are working from the advantage that they are already supporters. • 10. Job Interview By Glenda Davis Job interviews would have to be the most nerve racking experience to proceed through; however, it is they are a task countless of us will possibly face at some point in life if you ever desire to consider obtaining a job. In my years of high school instructors would advise us and prepare my classmates and I to be ready for a job interview and have an understanding of the do's and don't for a job interview. This included having to attend school well professionally dressed and actually being interviewed. After reading an essay written by Glenda Davis titled "How to Do Well on a Job Interview," I came to a complete understanding regarding how her advice given for a job interview is all useful and can benefit the readers. Davis identifies a job interview as a "game" (Davis 250), which I believe it was an excellent example in which it also gives readers an idea of how competitive it can be. Countless parts of her advice I have done myself, which has landed me a job. Aside from Davis's perspective, there are a few key point that Davis may have missed and could have been stated in her essay, such as researching the company he or she is applying to, this allows the interview to view the applicant as an applicant who is exceedingly interested in the company and has taken time to learn further about it. In a job interview the simplest ideas tend to matter, this can either land you the win or the loose on that job you desire. In the end, it is significant for the readers to know how to Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Here are some professional employment tips to help recent college graduates to stand out when searching for a job. "The Real World" Recent graduate students have a hard time adjusting to the "real world" because the way they behaved in college should not be carried on to the work force. The most common mistake inexperienced job seekers make is dressing inappropriately in an interview, where first impressions are critical. According to Tuhro, "You should dress within the appropriate parameters of the title you are interviewing for, with a touch of personal style" (Tuhro, 2014). • 12. Interview Reflection When conducting an interview I carefully read the contact with other. I knew I was interviewing someone from a different culture so I had to understand the ethnic community she was from which was Hispanic. I also was very focused on the professional self–disclosure because we were talking about a lot of personal things. I tried to humanize our relationship before I asked tough questions, this helps to create a sense of bonding. I was also very careful of my communication style, I always wanted to ask her questions in a positive manner and I was always actively listening to her responses. I believe reading the culturally competent interviewing was the most helpful aspect of the study when conducting the interview. the first rules were to approach the person that you are interviewing with respect, warmth, acceptance, concern, interest and empathy because she is giving you her time to help us with this project and also to better understand people from different backgrounds from us. The most important part of the interview is at the beginning and we have to put the most effort in the early part of the interview to gain her trust. It also taught me to be comfortable and defensive when conducting the interview. This is very important because you want the person you are interviewing to open up to you. It overall taught me what to do in an interview and what not to do. The reading also taught me how to stay poised during the interview. The reading in the social work podcast also Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 13. Tips For A Job Interview Essay Make sure you look your best when going to a job interview. Dress to impress! This will make sure that you will have a nice haircut, very knowledgeable about the job, and that they best portray themselves as being caring. This is where you have to fake it until you make it. Going in so confident that there isn't a chance of one getting the job. Leaving the interview they would tell you that you should receive a call within 24 hours to 2 days or so. Four days later, you haven't received a call and when you call back you are told that the position was given to someone else. Thinking to yourself what could you possibly have done wrong? Thinking back on who all was at the interview, it was a majority of white people and pretty much everyone was slim and attractive. Out of like 4 other races, I was young, black and overweight. Most jobs will not hire a person maybe because of the tattoos on his or her body or maybe the way ones dress. When becoming an employee of a job, representing the job is also a part of the job. The way one speak, present themselves, and most definitely look is all the job is worried about. Without being very bold and saying "you did not get the job because you're black or overweight" they just kind of find a nice way of saying you didn't get the job because you didn't qualify. Jobs now and days are not so much diverse. The appearance, gender, or someone's race should determine how they will perform on a job, jobs should be more diverse and open to Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 14. Reflection And Reflection Of Interview Reflection of interview I've had quite the learning experience over the last few weeks. I had a chance to obtain valuable information and support from my principal. I learned so much about the administration role and how difficult it can be. When I began my interview, I felt overwhelmed and excited at the same time. My principal is also my mentor; she has been very supportive of me pursuing my dreams to be in administrator. As I conducted my interview I learned so much about the principal's role. I asked my principal a series of questions. The questions were based on the Interstate School Leadership Licensure Consortium Standards (ISLLC). My first question was based on educational programs. The educational programs at any school need balance. While we live in a test results world, there needs to be a balance of focus. I look at the type of student I want my school to produce and I surround myself with a faculty and other staffs that not only share in the mission, but also will help every student succeed. In addition, as an administrator, I need to provide my faculty and staff with the tools and resources necessary to make everyone feel successful. Each year the school's mission and goals needs to revisit and a plan of action needs to be executed in order to effectively manage and improve educational programs. When asked about new teachers and veteran teachers, the principal expressed that she is very supportive of mentoring new and veteran teachers. I think each new Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 15. What is an Interview? Essay What is an Interview? An interview is a conversation, which is held between two or more individuals where some questions are asked by the interviewer to obtain information about the interviewee. When the assignment Conduct a Job Search was given to us, we were excited. This kind of project was not only to help graduating students, like ourselves but anyone who is entering the workforce. An interview can be one of the best experiences. The interviewing program we have developed will be taught through slides, presentation, systematic activities, and skits. • 17. Personal Experience During an Interview Essay When I think of the word interview I think of it as a series of questions asked from one person to another to seek information. In my previous assessment we were asked to interview a fellow peer, on their personal experience of QIBT so far this year. We were not given any question, but made to think of our own. As we were interviewing our peer another peer was marking us on our overall ability to interview. This piece of reflective writing will be an explanation of what I thought my personal strengths and weaknesses were throughout my interview. Whilst the open ended questions allowed deeper responses as spoken about above it was also evident that these questions allowed Mary Doe to feel comfortable throughout the interview as she was allowed to express her own open thought rather than having a written script of multiple smaller closed ended questions. REF The safe environment was carried through the whole interview. I concluded the interview by asking Mary Doe if she had any concerns or further questions she would like to talk about. This continues the safe environment feel, which I created throughout the whole interview. Once finishing the interview I recall thinking that I had forgotten one major factor within the interview, which was taking notes. This would have to be my only major weakness that I found I had whilst interviewing Mary Doe. At the time I was so focused on eye contact, so it was really easy for myself to just ask the questions and get lost in the answer whilst trying to figure out what question to ask next. The lack of note taking in response to Mary Doe's answers left me forgetting to listen one hundred percent as I was switching focus to what came next. When researching how I can improve this skill there was a lot of positive feedback on how to strengthen this skill. One that I shall be focusing on for future interviewing opportunities is to continually jot down small phrases as spoken, any specific information that is useful Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 18. Descriptive Essay On Interview Location For the three interviews, I went to a coffeeshop, an apartment, and an office. I decided on going to a coffee shop for the first interview because it was a public place and to be honest, I really wanted coffee that morning. It was a great place to feel relaxed and at home with the interview which I believe translated into a better interview. I felt a lot more comfortable asking different questions and the interviewee felt more comfortable with sharing information that might be considered more personal. The only compliant I would have with the coffee shop was the audio recording quality since it was a little noisy. The second location was the apartment of the lawyer. It was one of the first times I met him so I was a little worried at first going into his home alone but he had a nice dog and was super friendly. The home–like atmosphere made it a lot more comfortable on both ends to talk and share information that might otherwise been held back. The audio quality was great considering it was a lot more quiet of a place. You can really hear the difference in the quality. The final interview was in a law office close to campus. I loved how close to campus it was which made it easy to commute to. Doing interviews in the office made it seem a lot more professional. While the interviewee was very comfortable in the office, I was not. He was sitting behind a giant wooden desk which made things seem like he was in charge even though he was the interviewee. • 19. Job Interview The interview process is something we have all gone through in order to get any job. It may not be our dream job but it is a job and we all have to do this process in order to even be able to start working. In Katy Piotrowski's article "Preparing for the Job Interview: Know Thyself," she explains everything that you need to know and not know when going to a job interview. Graduating college and having a Bachelor's degree of Science in Nursing is what I look forward to doing in the next two years. I will be discussing myself applying for a position in the nursing department. Being the right candidate for this RN nursing position in hospice care requires a lot of hard work and dedication, and that is why I am a good candidate for this position....show more content... One of the responsibilities is doing an admission if the admission nurse is not available to do so. When doing an admission you have to make sure that you have all of the information that is needed for insurance and to make sure the patient is going to get all of the care that they are going to need to help keep them comfortable. Another responsibility is making sure that all of the patients have all of the medication that they need to help keep them comfortable. Keeping patients comfortable until they pass away is what hospice does. Another responsibility that nurses have to do is to make sure that all of the charts are up–to–date and to check for any changes in the patients. Next Piotrowski said "To think of other experiences in her professional background that would show her as an attractive candidate for this job" (Piotrowski 2014). A way of being an attractive candidate for the nurse position is to have a positive attitude. Having a positive attitude shows people that you love what you do and care about what you are doing. Another way is by being a team player. Being that person that will jump in and help with whatever needs to be done is being a team Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 20. Strengths And Weaknesses Of Interview As I went into the room, I was made felt welcomed and comfortable by the panel as they tried to ease my nerves by simply asking about how I got there or how I was feeling. However, one of the panellists was excessive about the weather which made it a little awkward as she kept asking about it even though she was trying to make me comfortable. As an interviewee, I was marked either 4 or 5 for my presentation as I was well dressed because I wore smart yet casual attire for the interview. I was also marked 5 for my communication skills by all three interviewers as they stated that there was clarity in my speech was well, I spoke well and expanded on my answers. Moreover, I was also marked 4 and 5 by the panellists for my relevant industry experience because I took part in NCS. Moving on, I was also given 5 on my personal interests because I was able to describe what my interests are. As an interviewee, one of my first weakness was that I was the first person to be interviewed which frightened me a little as it was a new experience to me since I have never taken part in an interview before. Another weakness that I faced was that I was caught off guard by one of the panellists who repeated the same question, which I have already answered. Which I believed it to be very intimidating because it showed that she wasn't listening to me and it made me consider that she has already decided that i wouldn't be hired henceforth, she was not interested in what I had to say. Moreover, it Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 22. Reflective Essay On Interview Experience During the interview I learned various things about how a person who once was dreaming of a career worked hard to make that dream closer and closer to reality. I always thought about jobs as boring, stressful, and tiring ways to make money to sustain one's life. But from this interview experience I have learned that it isn't always and doesn't have to be that way. It is important for someone to pick a job they want to do, and if they don't like it, that's okay as long as they are willing to obtain that burning determination and motivation to study and develop different variety of newly introduced skills to accomplish what they want to do for a living. I realized that working in a job that you don't enjoy doing isn't necessarily bad. Different jobs require different skills and knowledge in different fields/areas. A person who switched jobs multiple times (not because they got fired) has a higher possibility of having more skills and experiences on different types of work, which causes the gap between the doors of opportunity to widen, enabling that person to choose from a wide variety of different job options that they want to do and be content with. From a student's' point of view, just the thought of getting into a job that you dream of seems difficult and challenging. When we look at what we want to do when we grow up, we see a long road ahead of us with constant obstacles of traffic jam (you have to compete with different people who are closer to the destination than you Get more content on HelpWriting.net
