AFTER POLITICS
Not long after leaving office, Thatcher was appointed to the
House of Lords, as Baroness Thatcher of Kesteven in 1992.
In her books “The Downing Street “(1993) and “ The Path to
Power ”(1995) she wrote about her experience as a world leader.
She suffered a great personal loss in 2003 when her husband Denis
died—the couple had been married for more than 50 years.

AFTER POLITICS
She also founded the Thatcher Foundation, which aimed to advance
the cause of political and economic freedom.
In 1995 she became a member of the Order of the Garter, the
highest order of knighthood in England.
After a series of minor strokes, Baroness Thatcher retired from public
speaking in 2002.
In August 2008, it became known that she was suffering
from dementia and had withdrawn from public life.

Between 1945-90 every statement made by Margaret Thatcher is
listed, as far as can be known. There are more than 8,000.
Closing the 1987 Conservative Party conference in
Blackpool, Margaret Thatcher received an eleven-minute
standing ovation following her speech. She led her party to a
third victory in the national elections thereafter.
8. There where people who liked her, who loved her but there were also
ones who hated her. The last ones criticized the things she had
done, the way she behaved and wanted to emphasize her defects. But all
of them forgot about one very fact:
“Economics are the method; the object is to change the soul.”
They has all forgotten about souls.
They saw her as a politician, but not as a human being.
To my mind her life was painted in white and black, but not
everybody noticed that, because they were to busy either to adore or
to judge her.
