How to Make Benefits More…
Beneficial
We are in the midst of a mass migration
toward benefits technology. The multitude of
software programs available to companies not
only allows their employees to more effectively
take advantage of every benefit their employer
offers, but also gives companies greater control
and oversight of their benefits
packages. It shouldn’t come as a
surprise that a significant portion
of business spending is being
dedicated to these platforms.
The 2016 Employee Benefit News
Tech Survey, for instance, found
that 51% of businesses had
planned for future tech spending
on enrollment technology,
followed by spending on benefits
administration systems (47%) and
employee benefit portals (37%).
The problem with such a booming business is
that each new benefit offered is accompanied
by its own app or portal. Each step of the
process requires unreasonable navigation on the
part of the employee to ensure they are using
their benefits correctly. While benefits portals
have certainly simplified things in some ways,
employees need a single app to streamline
the multitude of programs currently needed
to capitalize on the benefits offered. A single
program also allows the employer to easily drive
messaging to their employees and ensure needs
are being met. A single app means not only
simplicity, but transparency and openness at
all levels.
The ideal platform should help make decisions
and cost management easier for the employer,
while ensuring employees are engaged in their
healthcare and benefits. Many employees turn
a blind eye to the benefits available because
of sheer complexity. Most benefits packages
contain more than 20 programs, from medical
to retirement and more. It can be difficult to
keep track of and to determine what benefits
are even available. Understanding the benefits
offered can go a long way to
improving employee happiness,
and the easiest way to do that is to
streamline all of the benefits into
an easy-to-use, business optimized
solution. That’s why we at Alliant
created Ben-IQ™.
Our free mobile app for iPhone
