Dog Friendly Cornwall Our 7 best dog walks in Cornwall
Loe Bar is located between Helston and Porthleven and can be accessed easily from both places. Made up of part of the Penrose Estate, the area encompasses wooded areas with bike and walking tracks, park land, a stretch of beach and also cliff paths. Loe Bar makes perfect territory; from gentle dog walking in Cornwallstrolls to day-long hikes.
Mullion Cove encompasses everything you could want of a Cornish beach: impressive views, an unspoilt stretch of sand and a variety of cliff walks to choose from. On a clear day, you can see for miles across the coast or out to sea and, whatever the season, no dog or their owner can fail to enjoy a good walk at Mullion Cove.
Gyllyngvase Beach is a great out of season spot to take your dog. On the outskirts of Falmouth, it’s a convenient and easy-to-find location. When you’ve tired of throwing sticks for your four-legged friend and have persuaded him out of the sea, Gylly Beach café is perfect for a refreshment stop. And with a heated dog-friendly area outdoors, it may well be somewhere you linger rather longer than you expected.
Helford Village- Frenchman’s Creek. If you are looking for things to do in Cornwall- This is an ideal afternoon walk and takes about an hour and a half. Starting from Helford Village, the designated footpath takes you through delightful countryside, across a pebbly cove and winds its way down to the creek made famous by Daphne du Maurier’s novel of the same name. Having made your way back to Helford Village, why not quench your thirst in The Ferryboat Inn, where your four-legged friend will be welcomed in with the promise of a bowl of water and sometimes even a doggy-treat!
Tehidy Woods is a designated country park of around 250 acres of woodland. It boasts 9 miles of nature trails and makes a really lovely place to spend the day. Your dog will be in his element, with all the smells and sounds to capture his interest. And you will surely enjoy being in the heart of nature; relaxing and taking a well-earned break.
The Merry Maidens are an ancient stone circle located in dramatic countryside near Zennor, on the West Coast of Cornwall. The Merry Maidens is easily reachable by foot and makes a convenient circular walk, which also passes Lanyon Quiot; another well-known ancient landmark.
Bodmin Moor is a large expanseof open countryside to explore with your dog, especially if you’re both feeling energetic and in need of a decent hike. With a plethora of routes to choose from and landmarks to see, you could easily spend several days exploring this unspoilt area of Cornwall with your dog.
