4) Have a picnic. Grab a sheet or
blanket and spread it out in the park
or in your backyard. Fill a basket or
bag with simple food items such as
peanut butter and jelly sandwiches,
pretzels sticks, apples and water.
This is a great way to enjoy nature
with family and friends.
5) Sidewalk Chalk. Get in touch with
your creative side and use the
pavement as a canvas. Outline
shadows, draw favorite shapes or
characters and make that boring
pavement beautiful. Well at least until
it rains.
6) Have a relay race. Whether it is a
three-legged race, potato sack race or
egg and spoon race, these fun races
will provide you with good laughs and

Spring has finally sprung and that
means it is time to enjoy the
outdoors! Put away those toboggans
and gloves and enjoy the fresh air
and sunshine. Here are some spring-
time activity ideas to enjoy with
family and friends.
1) Go for a bike ride. Dust off those
bike seats and pump the tires with
air. Be sure to wear your helmet and
stay away from cars. Riding a bike is
low impact and a great way to burn
calories and build endurance.
2) Take a walk. Lace up those tennis
shoes, grab a friend or loved one
and go for a walk. Walking is a great
way to enjoy nature, chat about
one’s day and a perfect way to get
exercise. Discover different routes to
keep things interesting.
3) Fly a kite. Flying a kite is good
old-fashioned fun that is exciting,
challenging and relaxing. Take
advantage of those breezy days and
see how high your kite will fly!

Jorge is starting off spring
with a healthy bang! Jorge is
spring cleaning his diet by
eating smaller portions,
consuming more fruits and
vegetables and eating less
fast food.
Jorge is also getting
exercise by taking walks
and remaining active
throughout the day. Now
that the weather is warming
up Jorge is going to start
running for exercise and
would like to begin walking
to work.

Springtime Is Pasta Salad Time! Great For Picnics!
Supplies:
 Seeds
 Soil
 Pot
 Shovel
 Water
 Sunshine
Steps:
1. Add Soil to pot of choice
2. Toss your flower seeds on top of soil and
then cover with a little more soil
3. Lightly water as needed to keep soil
moist
4. Place your pot in a sunny spot.
Parmesan Pasta Salad
Ingredients:
1 pound small pasta shells
2 pints cherry tomatoes, halved
4 ounces of parmesan, broken up
1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil
1/4 cup chopped fresh chives
Sprinkle with salt & pepper
Directions:
1. Cook the pasta according to package
directions. Drain and return to pot.
2. Add the tomatoes, Parmesan, oil,
chives, 1tsp salt, 1/4 tsp pepper and
toss to combine ingredients.
