1. 4) Have a picnic. Grab a sheet or
blanket and spread it out in the park
or in your backyard. Fill a basket or
bag with simple food items such as
peanut butter and jelly sandwiches,
pretzels sticks, apples and water.
This is a great way to enjoy nature
with family and friends.
5) Sidewalk Chalk. Get in touch with
your creative side and use the
pavement as a canvas. Outline
shadows, draw favorite shapes or
characters and make that boring
pavement beautiful. Well at least until
it rains :).
6) Have a relay race. Whether it is a
three-legged race, potato sack race or
egg and spoon race, these fun races
will provide you with good laughs and
great exercise. By: Emily Moss
Spring has finally sprung and that
means it is time to enjoy the
outdoors! Put away those tobog-
gans and gloves and enjoy the fresh
air and sunshine. Here are some
springtime activity ideas to enjoy
with family and friends.
1) Go for a bike ride. Dust off those
bike seats and pump the tires with
air. Be sure to wear your helmet and
stay away from cars. Riding bikes is
a great way to burn calories and
build endurance and is low impact.
2) Take a walk. Lace up those tennis
shoes, grab a friend or loved one
and go for a walk. Walking is a great
way to enjoy nature, chat about
one’s day and a perfect way to get
exercise. Discover different routes to
keep things interesting.
3) Fly a kite. Flying a kite is good
old-fashioned fun that is exciting,
challenging and relaxing. Take
advantage of those breezy days and
see how high your kite will fly!
