The Right Kind Of Write
The Right Kind of Write "The writing process, the way I go about it is I do whatever the beat feels like, whatever the beat is telling me to do.
Usually when the beat comes on, I think of a hook or the subject I want to rap about almost instantly. Within four, eight bars of it playing I 'm just
like, Oh, OK. This is what I wanna do '." (Eminem). To me this quote means just to go along with what you feel and be creative. Everyone has a
different way of writing and talking and that 's what makes them unique. When I first get a writing assignment my reaction tends to be mad or
annoyed. The right way to write an essay is to start with an environment that I feel comfortable with, how I complete my essays, and my overall
process. An environment I prefer to write is in the afternoon at home or in the library. I don 't want to be in a place that is too loud because then I
get distracted and become lazy; consequently, I listen to music when I do homework. I procrastinate a lot and in the last minute and try to get my
homework done, but now it 's different because I get things done ahead of time so I don 't have to worry about it another day. I always forget to
write down the things I need to do and because of that I forget about my assignment. Therefore, the technology that I would use is a computer and a
phone because when I forget or don 't know anything I can look it up. As I work on an essay, I like to wear comfortable clothes because I can focus. I
don 't want to be on a

Over 350 million people suffer from depression worldwide. It's Kind of a Funny Story, written by Ned Vizzini, is a realistic fiction novel about a
high schooler named Craig Gilner who struggles with depression and suicidal thoughts. This story was a great read and for multiple reasons. Vizzini
does a great job of making Craig, the protagonist, a very interesting character, and the novel itself is very relatable to anyone who is/was a student.
Craig has many intriguing qualities that are hard to ignore. Ned Vizzini does a fantastic job on making sure the main character is not the least yet

A Kind of Love
Love is eternal. The boundary of love is not defined yet and can never be defined. Love has created a wonderful cities and has also destroyed the
wonderland. Some classify love as something that you feel for some people sometimes. It is often linked or used interchangeably with lust. Others feel
that it is something that is constant and untouched by judgement and feeling. The true eternal love is hard to find in this world and few lucky people
get the chance to experience it in real life. Otherwise, the words of love philosophy is found in the novels and fairytale only. Love is of various
kinds as per the situation and person. The lust which is usually misinterpreted as love is just to gain maternal possession or physical benefit and is
the most popular kind of love in this modern world. The true love in which two souls are bounded with each other from the core of the heart and can
know the feeling of each other or toward other thing is hard to find. When the spirit of the two people joins, it is the true love.
Love is a very prevailing sentiment. People in love often struggle with the desire to remain in control of themselves and with

What Kind Of Student I Am
I have an idea about what kind of student I am. Over the years, I have realized that when I'm not interested or I feel like I'm not learning
/understanding the material, I unconsciously withdraw. I'm already not a studier so paying attention 100 percent is crucial to my grade. I am very
hardworking and can apply myself to fullest, the problem is I need to learn to apply myself even more when I'm in need of help, instead of
retracting. Unfortunately, sometimes I am also a procrastinator, but it depends on what and how much the work it is. I can say that I am a very
organized student/person. I color code my notes, make lists, and even set up timers to split my time accordingly. I am very interested to take some
assessments to learn more about myself, and possibly make some changes. The first assessment I took was the Study Skills Assessment. For Time
Management I got a 14 out of 32. I was a little surprised because I do think I manage my time well. Although I do get distracted easily with
technology and I don't prioritize very efficiently, which makes sense on why I would score low. For Concentration/Memory I scored a 20 out of 32,
which I think is accurate. I got a fair score, but it could be better. In the Note–Taking section I got a 27 out of 32. I wasn't shocked at all, I usually like
taking notes and I've realized which strategies work for me and which don't. For Test Strategies I received a 23 out of 32. I was a little taken aback, I
thought I would've scored lower.

The Different Types of Media Essay
The Different Types of Media
I think that all different types of media have lots of different influences on society, especially individuals. There is an enormous variety of media
including; television, newspapers, radio, magazines, advertisements etc. It seems that the more developed that society gets, the harder it becomes to
escape media. One of the most common forms of media is advertisements.
Advertisements are not only one of the most common forms of media but also one of the most over–exposed types of media there is. This is because
advertisements appear in every single type of other media there is, therefore making advertisements are an essential way for people to 'advertise', or

From soaps, like Coronation Street, to documentaries, like a day to remember, there's something for all ages and makes it hard for people not to get
infected by this contagious disease. Some people might argue that television is a waste of time that could be better spent or that it displaces the brain of
useful information, when in fact these people are mistaken. With televisions powerful documentaries it encourages everyone to take an interest in
something and to learn about a passion or maybe teach them how to carry out a dream. Television actually develops and nurtures the mind. Even soaps
have a secret hidden agenda of teaching the viewer about topics some people are too scared to talk about or confront. For example a recent storyline in
Coronation Street about an emotional violent relationship shows that just because someone doesn't show bruises doesn't mean they aren't in a abusive
relationship. Soaps also feature stories of transvestites, child abductions, murders, child neglect etc. putting these on a television screen educates people
about everyday things that other people believe shouldn't be discussed.
Radio is another form of media, however it's less extreme. Radio generally reaches out to the younger generation with popular radio stations, like
Galaxy 102 and Key 103, they feature what is known as popular music, dance and R'n'B. it encourages

It's Kind Of A Funny Story Analysis
Carried by Hope
To have hope is to be able to see the light amid the darkness. This is a notion shown in Ned Vizzini's "It's Kind of a Funny Story". The protagonist is
a teenage boy named Craig, who struggles with depression. One night, Craig checks himself into a hospital because of his suicidal thoughts. He then
gets placed in the adult psychiatric ward called Six North. The novel "It's Kind of a Funny Story" demonstrates that it is crucial to remain positive
during hard times as there will be better days, with the usage of conflicts and characters. This is important because everyone undergoes hardships at
some point in their life and must be able to prevail.
Firstly, the external and internal conflicts in the story, person versus...show more content...
For example, he has a loving family who would always be there to support him. In conclusion, the conflicts in the story, person versus society and
person versus self, show the need to be optimistic during tough times.
Secondly, the characters in the novel, Bobby and Dr. Barney, teach that it is vital to hold on to hope because everyone has a future, regardless of
the present and their past. Bobby shows things can change for the better with his discovery of his true home. Bobby announces at Six North that
"This kid literally gave me the shirt off his back, the blue one right here and he didn't know me from the Adam, and there ain't no questions, without
him, I wouldn't have gotten this home. This new home" (Vizzini 317). Bobby lived in his car last year until a tow truck took away everything he
had. Consequently, he loses hope and wants to kill himself. At Six North, Craig helps Bobby with a job interview. Through Craig's act of kindness,
Bobby learns that his true home is Six North where he is and welcomed and appreciated for who he is. Furthermore, Dr. Barney tells Craig about his
personal experience with depression. He eventually reveals to Craig the secret to depression:
After college, I went through my own shit and decided that all the physical suffering in the world couldn't compare to mental anguish,' he said, 'And
when I got myself cleared up, I decided to help other people' [...] 'How did you fix it?' I

Types of Friends Essay
There are a lot of important things in life. However, one of the most important things for people to survive in this world is friendship. Without
friendship, people can die of loneliness. What do you think about your friends? Do you like your friends? There are a lot of different types of
friends. There are friends that I like and some friends with whom I do not get along. Friends with positive characteristics such as reliable, trustworthy
and faithful whom I usually get along with are the one that tend to have more friends and the negative one whom I usually not get along with tend to
be alone. However, friends with negative characteristic can also give us some good examples of seeing double sides of something, like, a character

They can learn to get some confidence because confidence is really important in order to perform better. Being an overconfident person is also
beneficial, as we won't get nervous easily and our performances will be better. This kind of person isn't scared to take some risks as they have trust
and confidence in themselves. This kind of person has potential to be a really successful person in the future. I have a friend that is really confident that
when he performed for a speech competition at school, he can speak fluently without any hesitation that made him the winner of the competition. We
can learn a lot from this kind of person. I learn that correct proportion of something, even the thing we take as something bad, before, can turn into
something good. We have to be able to measure how confident we can be while with friends and when the confidence is really needed. Being a
competitive person can be advantageous, as this kind of person wants to be the best in everything. As they want to be the best in everything, they will
work and study harder than any other people. They will try as hard as they can to be the best. As a result, they will get good marks on test or get an
extremely good job in the future. It is beneficial for them. For Example: I know that being a competitive person can be advantageous as I have a
friend that is competitive. She is so competitive that in every test, she will study as hard as she can. In every test, she managed to get the best scores

Personality is something that is related to the characteristic pattern, thought, feelings and behaviour of a person (Cherry, 2014). There are many
theories that have been stated in order to describe personality (Cherry, 2014). Everyone has his/her own unique personality. Different person has a

My Favorite Kind Of Art
I'd loved art as a child and every moment I could I was drawing. I never knew of different types of art as a child, but I took an extreme liking to
theater or theatrics. In fact, my favorite thing to do was to copy the voices of the actors I heard. The voices I made always cause my younger sister
to laugh and left my family impressed. On the other hand, I couldn't be as outgoing with other people. It felt awkward, but it left no impression as
a kid, the adults condemn talking anyways. I'd assumed I was being the "good child' and the rest of the kids were just "bad kids." School made it
unmistakably clear that I was missing something. At recess, kids are at liberal to talk as much as they want, there no worries about inappropriately
speaking here or being the "bad kid." Still, as other kids laughed and shouted unrestrictedly I didn't talk; I was the lone wolf who only jumped rope.
Although I receive much appraisal in the class for my quietness, this wasn't always the case. Soon my, mom got calls home about my quietness and
it came up in school conferences. I I remember the weirdness of the classroom's emptiness during conferences. The walls were usually a dull tan
with dusty floor. I should know cause every day of school was a sneezing fest for me. The rooms were also silent with empties child graffiti desks
and tables, it felt like a prison. Don't get me wrong schools has always felt like prison, conferences confirm these feelings. As usual, my teachers sat
at their desks to say "She so quiet and it's hard to teach her" and " I'm worried about her participation." My mother replied always reply with "she isn't
shy" and "you should see her at home." I always felt guilty when these things came up. There was alway this huge lump in my throat and I instantly felt
my body become flustered with heat.
My mother claims were an inconvenience. I didn't like being quiet, but being told I wasn't shy invoked some confusion. I want to know why I was
like this, and if it wasn't due to shyness does that mean I've been simply faking it?
I thought maybe I was, I mean I did talk at home. I could've pretended just to sway people's thoughts of me. I took this idea and ran with it cause I
though it solve some of the missing

Miles Davis Kind Of Blue Essay
Miles Davis' Kind of Blue is the single biggest selling jazz album ever made, selling over 5 million copies, and was my favorite to learn about. It is
known to be one of albums that convert people to liking jazz styled music, even though it was created over fifty years ago. The most significant part of
the album to me was that it made such an impact on the jazz community and it was only made in seven hours and all but only one of the tracks were
first takes. What has stuck with me in the documentary was the saying, "The first thought is the best thought." I really appreciated this because the
artist stuck with their initial first gut feeling. The music was really innovative and most specifically, the opening of "So What", was completely
improvised and then the riff takes off, allowing to be one of the most iconic songs in jazz (in my opinion). The magic of music was truly created in
this album creation and led a different direction of jazz creation.

Different Types of Love Essay
"Love does not begin and end the way we seem to think it does. Love is a battle, love is a war; love is a growing up." –James A. Baldwin. The author,
Baldwin talks about the fact that we assume love starts once you meet that person and it ends when you die, but love is everlasting and is a part of
you from the very beginning. In his quote he also says that we will face different types of love, while growing up. Films are made about it, books,
songs, and poems are written. Artists draw, paint and sculpt from inspiration of it and people spend their entire lives waiting for it. In dictionaries love
is defined as a feeling of warm personal attachment or deep affection but it is more than just a deep connection. Its more than deep connections...show

This is why mother sends out more of a warm fuzzy feeling than the father. Family love is the type of love that every human being encounters
throughout his or her lifetime. It's the very first and less painful type of love. Parental love isn't the only part of family love. Sibling love is a big
part to. Sibling rivalry starts when the second child is born and the 1st child starts to feel alienated and abandoned. Even though siblings are like
archenemies, they have the most caring love. Since they are closer through blood, they have the ability to protect each other and fight for each other.
Another main type of love is the love that is felt towards friends. This love is felt less when younger because when you are younger you are
accompanied more by parental love and attention. But when grown older, parents become busier that the kid will start creating their own bonds and
connections with other children their age. This would start a friendship. After people make new friends they start to become more dependent and more
trusting until they feel like they are one person with their friend. Having common interests, similar history, common values, and equality draws people
to be together as friends. Psychologically when one friend feels pain the other friend feels it because of the bond created between them. In their mind
they have automatically "connected" themselves with that person. But friendship is the hardest to find because you're not

What Kind Of Creative Nonfiction Analysis
1.)What kind of creative nonfiction draws you most strongly? I think this question is easiest to answer by stating what type of creative non–fiction I am
not drawn to: "Kissing", "The Glass Essay," and "Dream Children" are excellent examples of what I personally do not enjoy reading. The "Glass
Essay" and "Kissing" are too much work for me. My husband complains that I am a scanner and he is correct. This is due largely in part to my
business training and years of practice in the field. Thus, my initial reaction is to scan the pages and when it is out of order in my scanning brain, I
immediately tune out. A format such as "Dream Children" may get my attention but as I read, the endless thought feels tiring. Over the years I tried to

Essay on The Many Forms of Art
Throughout the cultural history of man, objects have been created to entertain, record, confront, enrich, clarify, communicate, reveal, to order and
disorder, with or without a purpose. Yet the definition of what is art is obscure, we are able to recognise for ourselves but not express concisely
what art is. Art has 'a complicated network of overlapping series of similarities' (Law, 2003) however there is not one feature that all art has in
common. The classification of Art does not fit into the classic logic argument where to be defined as art the object must have a stated characteristic,
as in the manner of classifying a dog, computer, house or boat. A dog is a dog because it has some but not all of the characteristics of A, B,

Without being able to speak with the animal artists it is difficult to determine what they are seeking to express, and whether their work is intended to
communicate something to us or other animals, whether it is a self rewarding activity, or aesthetically motivated, (The Museum of Non–Primate Art,
(MONPA), 1999). A characteristic of art is it's nonconformity to a definable formula. Law (2003, p100) defines art in two parts, firstly as an artifact or
something that has been worked on and secondly as something that has been nominated with the status of 'art work' by the 'art world' – the artist,
curator, or 'expert,' but art may be art without being identified by the institution classified as the 'art world.' The art world's opinion of what is art
is dynamic and may change over time, an artist may create without believing their work to be art, for that object to later be determined to be art.
The 'qualifying conditions of what makes a work of art may change from time to time in an unsystematic way' (Brooks, 2008, p96). Craft is not art,
craft pertains to the making of decorative or practical objects with skill by hand, craft may be artistic in creation. There exists a difference between art
and a work of art, a work of art is able to be

What makes a good teacher? Essay
In my opinion, a good teacher should be one who puts her heart into teaching. This is because only by doing so will the students feel their passion
and hard work. When a teacher strives hard for the students, students will put in their effort as well. If a teacher dislikes her job, goes to classes in a
bad mood, her teaching would also be affected and students would not be able to enjoy lessons as well.
Another point that makes a good teacher would be his/her patience. Teachers should not get upset or even worse, give up on the students who are not
so strong in their studies. Instead, they should have the patience to slowly coach them, give them extra lessons, and find different ways to encourage
them. Let them know that the teacher...show more content...

Types of Intelligence Essay examples
Types of Intelligence The meaning of intelligence is a concept that varies across cultures and ideologies. According to psychologists "intelligence is the
capacity to understand the world, think rationally, and use resources effectively when faced with challenges." (Feldman, R. S. 2010). Due to the
different types of human capabilities, there are different types of human intelligence. Some intelligence is expressed mentally as in existential,
intrapersonal, and spatial intelligences. Existential intelligence is the capacity and inclination to consider and question philosophically. People with
this type of intelligence are very comfortable with concepts like the meaning of life, the purpose of death, and other realities. Intrapersonal...show more

Musical/Rhythmic intelligence is also physical intelligence. This form of intelligence is more than being able to keep accurate rhythm or play an
instrument. People with this type of intelligence think in musical terms, they live musically; music is a part of their being. Naturalist Intelligence: the
ability to discriminate among living things (plants, animals) and sensitivity to other features of the natural world (clouds, rock configurations) (Gardner
H. n.d.). Although, this type of intelligence was necessary for hunting and gathering civilizations; I believe that Jacque Cousteau had this type of
intelligence. The more familiar forms of intelligence are linguistic, interpersonal, and logical/mathematical intelligence. Linguistic intelligence is
necessary for authors, attorneys, and anyone whose bread and butter is made through language. Interpersonal intelligence is defined as the ability to
understand other people. Yet, I find that empathy, and wisdom must be included for the psychological definition of intelligence to exist, or instead of
solutions, problems can be created. I define wisdom as not just knowing what to do, but actually doing it. Logical or mathematical intelligence is an
innate ability to interact with mathematical and scientific principles. Practical intelligence is needed for success in careers that involve corporations,
the military, and other structured environments. Practical

Who Are You As A Writer? Essay
When presented with the question, "who are you as a writer?", I was speechless at first. But after thinking about it, I realized who I am as a writer
has been influenced by so many different sponsors throughout my life and there was not a short, concrete answer. Brandt mentions that "literacy
is sponsored by people, institutions, and circumstances that both make it possible for a person to become literate and shape the way the person
actually acquires literacy." (Brandt 43) My attitude towards writing has been influenced by teachers, both negatively and positively, by my
mother, and by academic assignments over the years. My answer to the question can only be answered by a narrative of my writing life. I have
convinced myself that I am a terrible writer, and when presented with a writing assignment, I get anxious instantly. I see writing as a burden and a
huge obstacle that gets placed in my life. Academic writing is not fun, but something I value due to the fact that we are a grade driven society.
When writing, I write to the guidelines in order to receive points for the requested criteria. The reason being, I gave up on expressing my own ideas
because I had been shut down by so many teachers throughout my education. I tried to write down what came to my mind and put my own twist on
things, but that was not the "right" way to write papers. In order to make both my teachers and my grades happy, I wrote what they wanted to hear, and
even then I was not to the level they

The Right Kind Of Write

  • 1. The Right Kind Of Write The Right Kind of Write "The writing process, the way I go about it is I do whatever the beat feels like, whatever the beat is telling me to do. Usually when the beat comes on, I think of a hook or the subject I want to rap about almost instantly. Within four, eight bars of it playing I 'm just like, Oh, OK. This is what I wanna do '." (Eminem). To me this quote means just to go along with what you feel and be creative. Everyone has a different way of writing and talking and that 's what makes them unique. When I first get a writing assignment my reaction tends to be mad or annoyed. The right way to write an essay is to start with an environment that I feel comfortable with, how I complete my essays, and my overall process. An environment I prefer to write is in the afternoon at home or in the library. I don 't want to be in a place that is too loud because then I get distracted and become lazy; consequently, I listen to music when I do homework. I procrastinate a lot and in the last minute and try to get my homework done, but now it 's different because I get things done ahead of time so I don 't have to worry about it another day. I always forget to write down the things I need to do and because of that I forget about my assignment. Therefore, the technology that I would use is a computer and a phone because when I forget or don 't know anything I can look it up. As I work on an essay, I like to wear comfortable clothes because I can focus. I don 't want to be on a Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. It's Kind Of A Funny Story Essay Over 350 million people suffer from depression worldwide. It's Kind of a Funny Story, written by Ned Vizzini, is a realistic fiction novel about a high schooler named Craig Gilner who struggles with depression and suicidal thoughts. This story was a great read and for multiple reasons. Vizzini does a great job of making Craig, the protagonist, a very interesting character, and the novel itself is very relatable to anyone who is/was a student. • 3. Love : A Kind Of Love Asmita K C 05/8/2015 Intro to lit. 125 A Kind of Love Love is eternal. The boundary of love is not defined yet and can never be defined. Love has created a wonderful cities and has also destroyed the wonderland. Some classify love as something that you feel for some people sometimes. It is often linked or used interchangeably with lust. Others feel that it is something that is constant and untouched by judgement and feeling. The true eternal love is hard to find in this world and few lucky people get the chance to experience it in real life. Otherwise, the words of love philosophy is found in the novels and fairytale only. Love is of various kinds as per the situation and person. The lust which is usually misinterpreted as love is just to gain maternal possession or physical benefit and is the most popular kind of love in this modern world. The true love in which two souls are bounded with each other from the core of the heart and can know the feeling of each other or toward other thing is hard to find. When the spirit of the two people joins, it is the true love. Love is a very prevailing sentiment. • 4. What Kind Of Student I Am I have an idea about what kind of student I am. Over the years, I have realized that when I'm not interested or I feel like I'm not learning /understanding the material, I unconsciously withdraw. I'm already not a studier so paying attention 100 percent is crucial to my grade. I am very hardworking and can apply myself to fullest, the problem is I need to learn to apply myself even more when I'm in need of help, instead of retracting. Unfortunately, sometimes I am also a procrastinator, but it depends on what and how much the work it is. I can say that I am a very organized student/person. I color code my notes, make lists, and even set up timers to split my time accordingly. I am very interested to take some assessments to learn more about myself, and possibly make some changes. The first assessment I took was the Study Skills Assessment. For Time Management I got a 14 out of 32. I was a little surprised because I do think I manage my time well. Although I do get distracted easily with technology and I don't prioritize very efficiently, which makes sense on why I would score low. For Concentration/Memory I scored a 20 out of 32, which I think is accurate. I got a fair score, but it could be better. In the Note–Taking section I got a 27 out of 32. I wasn't shocked at all, I usually like taking notes and I've realized which strategies work for me and which don't. For Test Strategies I received a 23 out of 32. I was a little taken aback, I thought I would've scored lower. Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. The Different Types of Media Essay The Different Types of Media I think that all different types of media have lots of different influences on society, especially individuals. There is an enormous variety of media including; television, newspapers, radio, magazines, advertisements etc. It seems that the more developed that society gets, the harder it becomes to escape media. One of the most common forms of media is advertisements. Advertisements are not only one of the most common forms of media but also one of the most over–exposed types of media there is. This is because advertisements appear in every single type of other media there is, therefore making advertisements are an essential way for people to 'advertise', or make...show more content... From soaps, like Coronation Street, to documentaries, like a day to remember, there's something for all ages and makes it hard for people not to get infected by this contagious disease. Some people might argue that television is a waste of time that could be better spent or that it displaces the brain of useful information, when in fact these people are mistaken. With televisions powerful documentaries it encourages everyone to take an interest in something and to learn about a passion or maybe teach them how to carry out a dream. Television actually develops and nurtures the mind. Even soaps have a secret hidden agenda of teaching the viewer about topics some people are too scared to talk about or confront. For example a recent storyline in Coronation Street about an emotional violent relationship shows that just because someone doesn't show bruises doesn't mean they aren't in a abusive relationship. Soaps also feature stories of transvestites, child abductions, murders, child neglect etc. putting these on a television screen educates people about everyday things that other people believe shouldn't be discussed. Radio is another form of media, however it's less extreme. Radio generally reaches out to the younger generation with popular radio stations, like Galaxy 102 and Key 103, they feature what is known as popular music, dance and R'n'B. it encourages Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. It's Kind Of A Funny Story Analysis Carried by Hope To have hope is to be able to see the light amid the darkness. This is a notion shown in Ned Vizzini's "It's Kind of a Funny Story". The protagonist is a teenage boy named Craig, who struggles with depression. One night, Craig checks himself into a hospital because of his suicidal thoughts. He then gets placed in the adult psychiatric ward called Six North. The novel "It's Kind of a Funny Story" demonstrates that it is crucial to remain positive during hard times as there will be better days, with the usage of conflicts and characters. This is important because everyone undergoes hardships at some point in their life and must be able to prevail. Firstly, the external and internal conflicts in the story, person versus...show more content... For example, he has a loving family who would always be there to support him. In conclusion, the conflicts in the story, person versus society and person versus self, show the need to be optimistic during tough times. Secondly, the characters in the novel, Bobby and Dr. Barney, teach that it is vital to hold on to hope because everyone has a future, regardless of the present and their past. Bobby shows things can change for the better with his discovery of his true home. Bobby announces at Six North that "This kid literally gave me the shirt off his back, the blue one right here and he didn't know me from the Adam, and there ain't no questions, without him, I wouldn't have gotten this home. This new home" (Vizzini 317). Bobby lived in his car last year until a tow truck took away everything he had. Consequently, he loses hope and wants to kill himself. At Six North, Craig helps Bobby with a job interview. Through Craig's act of kindness, Bobby learns that his true home is Six North where he is and welcomed and appreciated for who he is. Furthermore, Dr. Barney tells Craig about his personal experience with depression. He eventually reveals to Craig the secret to depression: After college, I went through my own shit and decided that all the physical suffering in the world couldn't compare to mental anguish,' he said, 'And when I got myself cleared up, I decided to help other people' [...] 'How did you fix it?' • 7. Types of Friends Essay There are a lot of important things in life. However, one of the most important things for people to survive in this world is friendship. Without friendship, people can die of loneliness. What do you think about your friends? Do you like your friends? There are a lot of different types of friends. There are friends that I like and some friends with whom I do not get along. Friends with positive characteristics such as reliable, trustworthy and faithful whom I usually get along with are the one that tend to have more friends and the negative one whom I usually not get along with tend to be alone. However, friends with negative characteristic can also give us some good examples of seeing double sides of something, like, a character can be...show more content... They can learn to get some confidence because confidence is really important in order to perform better. Being an overconfident person is also beneficial, as we won't get nervous easily and our performances will be better. This kind of person isn't scared to take some risks as they have trust and confidence in themselves. This kind of person has potential to be a really successful person in the future. I have a friend that is really confident that when he performed for a speech competition at school, he can speak fluently without any hesitation that made him the winner of the competition. We can learn a lot from this kind of person. I learn that correct proportion of something, even the thing we take as something bad, before, can turn into something good. We have to be able to measure how confident we can be while with friends and when the confidence is really needed. Being a competitive person can be advantageous, as this kind of person wants to be the best in everything. As they want to be the best in everything, they will work and study harder than any other people. They will try as hard as they can to be the best. As a result, they will get good marks on test or get an extremely good job in the future. It is beneficial for them. For Example: I know that being a competitive person can be advantageous as I have a friend that is competitive. She is so competitive that in every test, she will study as hard as she can. In every test, she managed to get the best scores Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 10. My Favorite Kind Of Art I'd loved art as a child and every moment I could I was drawing. I never knew of different types of art as a child, but I took an extreme liking to theater or theatrics. In fact, my favorite thing to do was to copy the voices of the actors I heard. The voices I made always cause my younger sister to laugh and left my family impressed. On the other hand, I couldn't be as outgoing with other people. It felt awkward, but it left no impression as a kid, the adults condemn talking anyways. I'd assumed I was being the "good child' and the rest of the kids were just "bad kids." School made it unmistakably clear that I was missing something. At recess, kids are at liberal to talk as much as they want, there no worries about inappropriately speaking here or being the "bad kid." Still, as other kids laughed and shouted unrestrictedly I didn't talk; I was the lone wolf who only jumped rope. Although I receive much appraisal in the class for my quietness, this wasn't always the case. Soon my, mom got calls home about my quietness and it came up in school conferences. I I remember the weirdness of the classroom's emptiness during conferences. The walls were usually a dull tan with dusty floor. I should know cause every day of school was a sneezing fest for me. The rooms were also silent with empties child graffiti desks and tables, it felt like a prison. Don't get me wrong schools has always felt like prison, conferences confirm these feelings. As usual, my teachers sat at their desks to say "She so quiet and it's hard to teach her" and " I'm worried about her participation." My mother replied always reply with "she isn't shy" and "you should see her at home." I always felt guilty when these things came up. There was alway this huge lump in my throat and I instantly felt my body become flustered with heat. My mother claims were an inconvenience. I didn't like being quiet, but being told I wasn't shy invoked some confusion. I want to know why I was like this, and if it wasn't due to shyness does that mean I've been simply faking it? I thought maybe I was, I mean I did talk at home. I could've pretended just to sway people's thoughts of me. I took this idea and ran with it cause I though it solve some of the missing Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 11. Miles Davis Kind Of Blue Essay Miles Davis' Kind of Blue is the single biggest selling jazz album ever made, selling over 5 million copies, and was my favorite to learn about. It is known to be one of albums that convert people to liking jazz styled music, even though it was created over fifty years ago. The most significant part of the album to me was that it made such an impact on the jazz community and it was only made in seven hours and all but only one of the tracks were first takes. What has stuck with me in the documentary was the saying, "The first thought is the best thought." I really appreciated this because the artist stuck with their initial first gut feeling. The music was really innovative and most specifically, the opening of "So What", was completely improvised and then the riff takes off, allowing to be one of the most iconic songs in jazz (in my opinion). The magic of music was truly created in this album creation and led a different direction of jazz creation. Time Out by the Dave Brubek Quartet was what was said to be "a dream...show more content... • 12. Different Types of Love Essay "Love does not begin and end the way we seem to think it does. Love is a battle, love is a war; love is a growing up." –James A. Baldwin. The author, Baldwin talks about the fact that we assume love starts once you meet that person and it ends when you die, but love is everlasting and is a part of you from the very beginning. In his quote he also says that we will face different types of love, while growing up. Films are made about it, books, songs, and poems are written. Artists draw, paint and sculpt from inspiration of it and people spend their entire lives waiting for it. In dictionaries love is defined as a feeling of warm personal attachment or deep affection but it is more than just a deep connection. Its more than deep connections...show more content... This is why mother sends out more of a warm fuzzy feeling than the father. Family love is the type of love that every human being encounters throughout his or her lifetime. It's the very first and less painful type of love. Parental love isn't the only part of family love. Sibling love is a big part to. Sibling rivalry starts when the second child is born and the 1st child starts to feel alienated and abandoned. Even though siblings are like archenemies, they have the most caring love. Since they are closer through blood, they have the ability to protect each other and fight for each other. Another main type of love is the love that is felt towards friends. This love is felt less when younger because when you are younger you are accompanied more by parental love and attention. But when grown older, parents become busier that the kid will start creating their own bonds and connections with other children their age. This would start a friendship. After people make new friends they start to become more dependent and more trusting until they feel like they are one person with their friend. Having common interests, similar history, common values, and equality draws people to be together as friends. Psychologically when one friend feels pain the other friend feels it because of the bond created between them. In their mind they have automatically "connected" themselves with that person. But friendship is the hardest to find because you're not Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 13. What Kind Of Creative Nonfiction Analysis 1.)What kind of creative nonfiction draws you most strongly? I think this question is easiest to answer by stating what type of creative non–fiction I am not drawn to: "Kissing", "The Glass Essay," and "Dream Children" are excellent examples of what I personally do not enjoy reading. The "Glass Essay" and "Kissing" are too much work for me. My husband complains that I am a scanner and he is correct. This is due largely in part to my business training and years of practice in the field. Thus, my initial reaction is to scan the pages and when it is out of order in my scanning brain, I immediately tune out. A format such as "Dream Children" may get my attention but as I read, the endless thought feels tiring. Over the years I tried to convince Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 14. Essay on The Many Forms of Art Throughout the cultural history of man, objects have been created to entertain, record, confront, enrich, clarify, communicate, reveal, to order and disorder, with or without a purpose. Yet the definition of what is art is obscure, we are able to recognise for ourselves but not express concisely what art is. Art has 'a complicated network of overlapping series of similarities' (Law, 2003) however there is not one feature that all art has in common. The classification of Art does not fit into the classic logic argument where to be defined as art the object must have a stated characteristic, as in the manner of classifying a dog, computer, house or boat. A dog is a dog because it has some but not all of the characteristics of A, B, ...show more content... Without being able to speak with the animal artists it is difficult to determine what they are seeking to express, and whether their work is intended to communicate something to us or other animals, whether it is a self rewarding activity, or aesthetically motivated, (The Museum of Non–Primate Art, (MONPA), 1999). A characteristic of art is it's nonconformity to a definable formula. Law (2003, p100) defines art in two parts, firstly as an artifact or something that has been worked on and secondly as something that has been nominated with the status of 'art work' by the 'art world' – the artist, curator, or 'expert,' but art may be art without being identified by the institution classified as the 'art world.' The art world's opinion of what is art is dynamic and may change over time, an artist may create without believing their work to be art, for that object to later be determined to be art. The 'qualifying conditions of what makes a work of art may change from time to time in an unsystematic way' (Brooks, 2008, p96). Craft is not art, craft pertains to the making of decorative or practical objects with skill by hand, craft may be artistic in creation. There exists a difference between art and a work of art, a work of art is able to be Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 15. What makes a good teacher? Essay In my opinion, a good teacher should be one who puts her heart into teaching. This is because only by doing so will the students feel their passion and hard work. When a teacher strives hard for the students, students will put in their effort as well. If a teacher dislikes her job, goes to classes in a bad mood, her teaching would also be affected and students would not be able to enjoy lessons as well. Another point that makes a good teacher would be his/her patience. Teachers should not get upset or even worse, give up on the students who are not so strong in their studies. Instead, they should have the patience to slowly coach them, give them extra lessons, and find different ways to encourage them. Let them know that the teacher...show more content... It would be better if the teacher is able to find common topics to chat with the students. This would let the students feel like they can relate better to the teacher. "You must not give up. I want to let you know that even if you're facing so many problems, and feel like there's no one to talk to, I'll be here for you. Everyone else might want to be the sun that lights up your life, but I rather be the moon that guides you through your darkest hours. Let's strive hard and work toward our goal together!" This was what my high school teacher told me 10 years ago and I have remembered it until now, and will remember it for the next 10 years and so on. I was once a problematic kid who mixed with bad company and flunk tests. I never thought about what I was going to do the next day, what more when I grew up. Of course when I was younger, I had lots of dreams. I wanted to set up my own company, I wanted to be a teacher, I wanted to be able to drive an airplane and the list went on. But as the years went by, they became less insignificant to me and soon, I forgot every single one of those dreams and goals. I got to a new school and knew friends who smoke and took drugs. My grades started dropping from "A" to fails. But I did not care. I could not be bothered by then. I went partying every night and got home drunk. What was the point of studying? • 16. Types of Intelligence Essay examples Types of Intelligence The meaning of intelligence is a concept that varies across cultures and ideologies. According to psychologists "intelligence is the capacity to understand the world, think rationally, and use resources effectively when faced with challenges." (Feldman, R. S. 2010). Due to the different types of human capabilities, there are different types of human intelligence. Some intelligence is expressed mentally as in existential, intrapersonal, and spatial intelligences. Existential intelligence is the capacity and inclination to consider and question philosophically. People with this type of intelligence are very comfortable with concepts like the meaning of life, the purpose of death, and other realities. Intrapersonal...show more content... Musical/Rhythmic intelligence is also physical intelligence. This form of intelligence is more than being able to keep accurate rhythm or play an instrument. People with this type of intelligence think in musical terms, they live musically; music is a part of their being. Naturalist Intelligence: the ability to discriminate among living things (plants, animals) and sensitivity to other features of the natural world (clouds, rock configurations) (Gardner H. n.d.). Although, this type of intelligence was necessary for hunting and gathering civilizations; I believe that Jacque Cousteau had this type of intelligence. The more familiar forms of intelligence are linguistic, interpersonal, and logical/mathematical intelligence. Linguistic intelligence is necessary for authors, attorneys, and anyone whose bread and butter is made through language. Interpersonal intelligence is defined as the ability to understand other people. Yet, I find that empathy, and wisdom must be included for the psychological definition of intelligence to exist, or instead of solutions, problems can be created. I define wisdom as not just knowing what to do, but actually doing it. Logical or mathematical intelligence is an innate ability to interact with mathematical and scientific principles. Practical intelligence is needed for success in careers that involve corporations, the military, and other structured environments. Practical Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 17. Who Are You As A Writer? Essay When presented with the question, "who are you as a writer?", I was speechless at first. But after thinking about it, I realized who I am as a writer has been influenced by so many different sponsors throughout my life and there was not a short, concrete answer. Brandt mentions that "literacy is sponsored by people, institutions, and circumstances that both make it possible for a person to become literate and shape the way the person actually acquires literacy." (Brandt 43) My attitude towards writing has been influenced by teachers, both negatively and positively, by my mother, and by academic assignments over the years. My answer to the question can only be answered by a narrative of my writing life. I have convinced myself that I am a terrible writer, and when presented with a writing assignment, I get anxious instantly. I see writing as a burden and a huge obstacle that gets placed in my life. Academic writing is not fun, but something I value due to the fact that we are a grade driven society. When writing, I write to the guidelines in order to receive points for the requested criteria. The reason being, I gave up on expressing my own ideas because I had been shut down by so many teachers throughout my education. I tried to write down what came to my mind and put my own twist on things, but that was not the "right" way to write papers. In order to make both my teachers and my grades happy, I wrote what they wanted to hear, and even then I was not to the level they Get more content on HelpWriting.net
