Heavy Metal Analysis on Roundtree Creek—Steven Steiner, PhD and Yari Johnson, PhD
Conducted 4 month study focusing on heavy metal analysis of UW-Platteville campus runoff into
Roundtree Beach. Goal of the study was to evaluate effect of mining and tornado on retention
pond. Responsible for collecting weekly water samples, various testing, and analysis. We
identified seepage issues during rain events and made suggestions for improvement.
VOLUNTEER/Other Experience
UW-Plattevile Sustainability Department—created geographical information system (GIS) map of
Platteville bike trail system
UW-Platteville—Designed and developed three residential gardens in the Platteville area
Allen Centennial Gardens—Generalassistance with gardening and upkeep.
Olbrich Gardens—Gave tours of home garden and butterfly garden. Also assisted with general
gardening and upkeep.
Madison Multicultural Center—Ran computer lab, assisted with website maintenance, and assisted in
