3. What are Clean Energy Agents?
● New change agents who will bring the change we need to stop the climate crisis
and protect the future of the young ones in the world.
● They will gradually but massively stop fossil fuel consumption and start a global
transition to clean energies.
● They know that the only way to ensure a good quality future is by cutting fossil
fuels from our lives and turning to clean energies.
● They are active agents during the whole year, working hard to achieve specific
goals related to: starting the transition to clean energies and keeping fossil fuels
in the ground, such as:
Switching their school to clean energy!
12. The Clean Energy Agents programme is an
intensive training / action programme
where you get up to speed on clean
energy, plug into a global network of
changemakers and start to make a change
in your country, beginning in your own
school.
13. Programme
● 2 month programme
You will invest around 3-4 hours of your time each week.
*There are prizes to win at the end of the programme, and the Missions are key to determining who will win those prizes.
● 8 Modules
With specific task to achieve during the week
● CEA Missions*
In parallel with the normal course, you are challenged to complete several CEA Missions .

Introduction and Getting to know each other
● Week #2:
Clean energy technology
● Week #3:
Researching basic information
● Week #4:
Financing your installation
● Week #5:
Involving teachers & parents
● Week #6:
Working with the media
● Week #7:

● Week #8 +
Follow-up and next steps
15. Module #2
Clean Energy Technology
Learn about clean energy technologies. We will heavily
focus on solar energy as the most practical in most
places. Learn about solar heating and photovoltaics.
Everything you need to know to start planning the clean
energy installation at your school. You will be
encouraged to specialize in other forms of
clean energy if more appropriate for your locality.
16. Module #3
Researching basic Information
Find out about previous work/campaigns on clean
energy in your country, legal framework, other
organizations working on the topic, companies, prices,
information about the energy being used in your
school, how it is being administered and who
can take decisions to change.
17. Module #4
Financing your installation.
We will look at how to calculate and compare the cost of a
clean energy installation with dirty energy and explore
different mechanisms to shoulder the big initial investment,
including governmental support, fundraising etc. As opposed to
fossil fuels, where you keep paying every time you burn, clean
energy comes with a big upfront investment -
but then it is basically free energy.
18. Module #5
Involving teachers & parents
In this very interactive module we will share
experiences of involving teachers and parents and
coach you through the process, from advice on basic
communication skills to more elaborate mechanisms
and activities to get these important
stakeholders deeply involved in the project.
19. Module #6
Working with the media
Solar panels on your school are not the end, but the
beginning of the story of energy transition. And that
story wants to be told. Here we help you through the
simple steps of finding, contacting and working
together with journalists, to spread the news
about your successes and inspire many more to
follow in your footsteps.
20. Module #7
Energy transition policies
Governments can drive or hinder the energy
transition, depending on what policies they adapt.
Here we will learn about best practices for promoting
the energy transition and you will research what the
state of affairs in your
country is and how to ramp it up.
21. Follow-up and next steps
We and you will keep in touch to follow up on your efforts and
continue supporting where support is needed over the rest of
the year to implement the different missions in June, September
and November. Some of you will come to the conferences
mentioned in the Prizes section, some will continue to start
clean energy businesses and some will go on to
start national campaigns to make clean energy the norm.
22. Missions
Level 1
● Give a presentation about
Climate Strike.
● Send a video thank you message to
Defenders of Mother Earth.
● Organize a student motion to divest your
school from fossil fuels.
● Deliver a petition to get your
school off fossils.
● Organize a Zero Emissions Day activity.
● Organize a “Planting Party”.
23. Missions
Level 2
● Get your school/university
off fossil fuels.
● Deliver a petition for 100% clean
energy in your city/state/country
with at least 1000 signatures.
● Organize an action on
Climate Strike Day, Nov 7th, 2016.
24. Prizes
Those Clean Energy Agents that
successfully achieve all the missions during
the year will have the chance to receive
one of the prizes:
● Solar panel plus inverter
● Wind generator plus inverter
● Solar reading light
● Participation in an international
conference/youth forum (tbc)
