3. Persona:
David the Team Lead
David is a 21 year old junior studying
computer science at the University of
Michigan. He lives on central campus but
spends most of his time on north campus. In
his free time he enjoys rock climbing and
trying new foods. He doesn’t get much
financial help from his parents and wants to
make some extra money to support his
hobbies. However, he is also a team lead for
MFly, and never knows when the project will
need his attention. With his schedule, he
can’t commit to consistent tutoring, but he
can help out with intro CS courses here and
there when it’s convenient for him.
4. Persona:
Josh the Worried Legacy
Josh is an 18 year old fresh to Michigan this fall, living in
Bursley Hall. He’s always liked technology and has a
passion for photography. He wants to eventually make a
website to showcase his art. His mom is a Michigan CS
alumna and is paying for his education in computer
science, so he is taking EECS 183. However, he has
been struggling to adjust to college life and has had poor
time management this semester. He is confused by a
few of the topics for his upcoming midterm and can’t go
to office hours. It’s the day before the exam, Josh is
nervous about doing badly and disappointing his parents,
so he is hoping he can find some last minute help.
5. Use Case
As a financially
independent college
student, I want to make
some extra money when I
have time in my schedule
so I can keep my hobbies
for stress relief.
As a legacy student, I
need to do well on my
exam so that my mom
won’t be disappointed in
me for doing poorly at
her school.
