I am very pleased to write this recommendation letter to strongly support Ms. Yao
Shuyi's application for you. As General Manager of Mobile Finance Department at
Shanghai Pudong Bank Beijing Branch, I became acquainted with Shuyi during her
internship under my supervision in 2014. She demonstrated a detail-oriented
personality, financial analysis capability, communication skills and overseas
education inspiration, which are essential characteristics for her success in the future
career.
Shuyi showed acute attention to details when she participated in our internal training
and daily work. She acted with tremendous care and patience in face of tight schedule.
During the training days, I seldom have found mistakes in her reports, as she always
proofread and double checked every source carefully before submission. A valid
example is that she got assigned as final checker when our team completed draft
credit analysis reports for further review. Her discreetness enhanced the teamwork
results in our department.
More importantly, she displayed an exceptional gift in reading and analyzing numbers
while involved in financial product presentation contest. At that time, I can find her
full-day working spreadsheet for the product result analysis. Through her
comprehensive analysis on our proposed financial products, her team’s report gave a
clear explanation about our financial product. Thanks to her working efficiency, the
team made satisfactory performance in front of the judge panel.
Moreover, Shuyi revealed her excellent communication skills through her negotiation
tasks with various parties. She was responsible for conducting related negotiations
about retail commercial banking business with individual customers. Although she
had no previous exposure to banking services, she tried every effort in enhancing
communication efficiency and learning proactively from senior colleagues. I could
still recall her continuous consultancy with colleagues for documentary guidance
when starting to submit loan applications to our branch headquarter. Even our team
got moved by her persistent trials. The passion and interpersonal skills she
demonstrated are definitely a valuable asset for any firm.
Meanwhile, Shuyi stood out with her passion for accounting and finance with a clear
overseas-study plan. After mapping out her plan for a master's degree in the coming
year, she kept making progress and achievements in her studies and internships. To be
specific, I found that Shuyi carefully made notes about real accounting and practice in
China and United States when an overseas education information session at the
company was held during lunch hours. She proactively seized every opportunity to
learn about our projects with foreign enterprises and communicate with colleagues
who have worked or lived abroad before. Through her frequent discussion with me,
Shuyi shows her active participation in career planning.
