3. Plum Creek: “Canvassing the Landscape”:
The earth takes form here in Castle Rock, Colorado in an artistic way playing with form and forced perspectives. The
newly designed trail head dives visitors into a unique parking lot that tails off to the rest of Plum Creek Trail. As you begin your walk
landforms lift and lower you throughout the landscape creating fantastic views and blocking negative existing ones. The new
underpass will safely lead you to the new picnic area at the base of Castle Rock Park, here you can rest before your climb to the top
of “The Rock”. At the summit your climb is rewarded with a look back at the landscape you were just emergence in, where you will
find a splash of landforms that create an artistic piece for photography.

4. Plum Creek: Montage: Section: Perspectives:
This section is taking the viewer on a journey of what to expect when exploring the newly designed Plum Creek Trail. Looking from
left to right the journey begins in the parking lot where bridges take you across the river and into the trail. Next you will be greeted
with a nature walk where all that surrounds you is nature. The walk continues into views of the formed landforms and finishes at the
bottom of Castle Rock Park.

6. Austin, Texas: X Games Austin 2014:
These maps were made using Sketch Up and Illustrator. I was asked to help present a preliminary concept
to earn the bid to work on the final map with the 2014 X Games Austin fan map that was handed out to
guests and intended to help them find everything that was located in the festival. From bathrooms to festival
locations all were mapped out on the graphic. Looking at the process several conference calls took place
with iDesign (contract marketing agency for ESPN X Games Event Development Department) to perfect the
location and graphics. The three drawings on the next page are all process renderings that led to the final
graphic that was printed off and handed out at X-Games 2014. The final product was a team effort with
graphic and ideas from multiple designers including myself. Useful skills and knowledge were gained from
this project such as, working with teams, getting my ideas out on the table, as well as learning to deal with
deadlines, communication and project management.

7. Fort Collins, Colorado: Discovery Center:
Cherry and College. This design details a hybrid design that intersects refurbished railroad ties that create
program areas such as outdoor exhibit areas, water features, earthworks, and planting areas. The plan depicts
the raised earthwork entrance that welcomes bikers into the site for exploration, as well as an orchid creating
curiosity to passing pedestrians. The stepped amphitheater creates a space for education events, concerts, or
whatever the mind can think of. Here the stepped amphitheater is shaded by the trees planted on the steps. The
steps also create private areas where friends and family can create their own space and gather for the concert or
even picnic when the area has no program event planned. Final model productions including site context, as well
as the hybrid design effect of the refurbished railroad ties. Here you can see the program areas that it creates as
they interact with the stream flowing to the nearby Poudre River.

Colorado State University: Green Roof/ Wall:
The BSB roof top garden took a lot of research before the design process even started. Building on a rooftop
the design had to take in consideration of weight and water usage. This design incorporated intensive and
extensive rooftop gardens and the various layers of material that is needed to incorporate the weight and
design. The master plan shows the simple design that allows the user to enjoy the space with myriad
seating opportunities to study eat lunch or whatever they please. The seating along the glass railing allows
for a great view of the pedestrian corridor below at CSU. A birds-eye perspective of the relationship of the
garden with the rest of the Behavioral Science Building on campus is showed as well as a section showing
the materials used in the design as well a the intensive and extensive green roof systems.in the design as well a the intensive and extensive green roof systems.
The Cache Bank livving wall design incorporates alternating green facades with living walls in order to
maximize the alloteed 320 sq ft of living walls aloud. Various plants were arranged in a linear pattern that
have different huess of green. The over all process would be completed with g sky technology to the
specifications listed on their website. In order to educate the public about the importance of living walls
sign-age would be hung around the site providing such detail.
9. Fort Collins, Colorado: Equinox Brewery:
Street Perspective:
The Equinox Brewery design details a shower curtain effect that allows users to create their own space to park their bike or create open
areas for seating that can be taken off of the adjacent walls. The alternating roofs structures are alternated with solar panels that can be
rotated to maximize sun potential through the ever changing Colorado seasons. Master plan of the bike parking area shows the solar
panel and roof structure that mimics the Colorado rockies. The north section that shows the entire length of the bike parking gives more
detail to the concept. This section also provides a great look at how the “shower curtain” effect works. Bikers just have to pick where they
want to park their bike pull a pole over and lock it to their bike. Equinox Brewery got its name from the inspiration of the term “Equinox”
meaning equal day and night. Keeping this in mind with the design and looking at the master plan the intent was to mimic this principle.
The design is mirrored on purpose to play on the term Equinox. Going into depth each side of the bike parking lot can
accommodate 80 bikes or 40 on each side. The space can also be used for bigger events when the beer garden is full in the summer
time. Owners just have to slide the metal poles to the side and take down chairs that hang on the outside walls to create a space for pro-
motions, events, or whatever the day has in store.

10. Denver, Colorado: 10th & Osage:
Rhino Aerial: Urban Strategy:
Towards the east side of the site residential buildings, schools, and the art district dominates the area.
Towards the west side of the site more industrial buildings can be seen some that are still in use, this area
also serves as a train depot. Finally once you cross I-25 more residential areas can be seen. Looking at
analysis of the site it was evident that there was a connection problem getting from the west side of I-25 to
the east side. Drawings depict what a “day in the life” of a residents of an area would look like. In this
scenario the resident uses the light-rail to get to the Broncos game where he enjoys the game later to take
the light-rail back to his home (Seen in Drawing Section). This master plan shows the proposed additions to
10th and Osage stop and the surrounding area. Residential communities dominated the east side of the site
and was left un touched. The west side of the site was run down industrial buildings that was replaced with
a arching green way and two more parks. The surrounding areas of this site were used as multi and mixed
housings with downtown like areas.
