PREPOSITION POWER

A preposition is a part of speech that shows
a relationship between two things.
•Location (on, under, in)
•Timing (before, after, during)
•Direction (from, toward, to)
Lesson One: Prepositions
PREPOSITION OF LOCATION
EXAMPLE:
1.Mr. John has stayed in USA for five years.
in is a prepostion; USA is a country.
2.My mother is at home now.
at is a preposition; home = house

Two things: mouse + table
Relationship: one is on the other
On is a preposition!

Under is a preposition!
Preposition of Time
I go home at twelve o’clock every day.
Mr. Hans will hold the test on Monday.
He was born in May 24, 2006.
Preposition of Direction
My cousin moved to London last
week.
To is a preposition direction.
Come to my house this afternoon!
To is A PREPOSITION direction
Preposition can be followed by:
Verb + ing

These are prepositional phrases. Prepositional phrases
start with a preposition and end with the object of a
preposition.

The object of a preposition
•must be a noun or a pronoun
•always comes at the end of a
prepositional phrase
Example: The cookies are in the oven.
Oven is a noun that ends the prepositional
phrase. Oven is the object of the
preposition.
