The Mackenzie method is the most popular evidence-
based therapy method worldwide! In the McKenzie
method, a trained clinician collects data from the patient’s
history and observes postural deviations and responses to
reparative movements during a complex assessment. After
the evaluation is completed, an exercise program is
individually tailored to the patient in preparation for self-
performance outside of the clinic and prevention of future
reoccurrences. The clinician works as a guide, and hands-
on methods are used only when it is necessary to progress
with force. The Mackenzie method is cost-effective due to
the minimized dependency on the therapist after efficiently
training each individual.
