This document contains Christina Miller's personal goals and reflections for an online course. Her goals were to stay on track with coursework, ask for help when needed, attend all classes, and gain specific skills. In her reflection, she notes managing to stay on track but finding it harder to ask for help online. While attending all in-person classes, she now watches recordings. She gained Excel skills but found Access concepts more difficult online. Overall, she learned about leadership, Excel, Access, and web portfolios. She will apply leadership skills and basic Excel and Access knowledge to future classes and jobs, and use her portfolio to showcase skills to employers.
2. Personal Goals ForThe Course
■ Stay on track with course material and assignments
■ Ask for help when not understanding a concept
■ Attend every class and actively participate in group activities
■ Know the skills I want to gain from the course and attain them
3. Personal Goals: Reflection
■ Stay on track with course material and assignments
– I managed to stay fairly on track with the course material, working to
catch up when I did fall behind.
■ Ask for help when not understanding a concept
– When classes were instructed in person, I did manage to ask questions
when I did not understand something in the class. However after going
digital, I have not been as active.
■ Attend every class and actively participate in group activities
– While I did attend every class and participated in every group
activity/project in person, under current circumstances, I have relied on
recorded lectures to watch at a time that better fits my schedule.
■ Know the skills I want to gain from the course and attain them
– I have attained skills in Excel, however online classes have made it more
difficult and time consuming to understand skills in Access.
4. What I Learned FromThe Course:
Summary
■ Knowing the difference between a Leader and a leader
■ Understanding the basics of Excel; analyzing data from spreadsheet,
creating tables, charts, and graphs, and how to filter data to show only
what is necessary to interpret.
■ Understanding the different types of relationships and how to create a
relationship between tables in Access. Knowing how to make a basic
query and, like Excel, how to filter information to only project what it
necessary.
■ Getting familiar with how to build a web portfolio and the proper steps
to creating a quality website.
5. ApplyingWhat I Have Learned to Future
Classes/Jobs
■ Reflecting the qualities of a great leader onto myself in order to
collaborate well in other group projects or team settings.
■ Having a basic grasp of Excel and Access will help in a job setting to
become a fast learner as I will already have a basic understanding of the
programs.
■ Having a portfolio to send to future employers will be helpful, once I
have more career focused content on it, as it physically shows what
programs I know and what hands-on experiences I have.
